Okay I have been thinking about this , since we are going to be making a spectacle of ourselves on Pirate Night (well probably everynight ) I was thinking ...How many of you have actually gotten your DH's thier costume ??? Wouldnt it be great if we had the whole cast of POTC ??? We have enough people in our group that could look like all the charcters and it wouldnt take that much ...there is so much out there on the internet now through ebay and other resources that almost everyone could be one of the charcters ...So ...Heres just a little list that maybe you could add your hubby to one of the names ...Now I know the kids are going to dress like me and of course Davy Jones and ETC ..I would just like the Adults to try ..LOL

After I drop DS off at Preschool I am going to run to the Credit Union and the mall. It is so much easier going places with only one!!! I don't tell him what we do...I don't want him to wish he were with me instead of wanting to be at preschool. I actually tell him that he gets to go and have fun and mommy has to go home and put Eliza in for a nap...really boring stuff. The teacher has my cell number in case of an emergency...

Is that a bad mom thing to do?

Not at all! It's a well known way of dealing with it. When DS went 3 days & DD went 2 I would tell her that I had already done the fun stuff with her when DS was in PS so we were just going to go home & clean the house.

OK guys, the pirate flag is handled unless you want to do something special or different . . . in chat last week Todd suggested that a lime green pirate flag would be kind of ummmmmmmmmm, let's just say not MANLY . . .

I have ordered two sizes of "Calico Jack Rackham" flags - one 12"x18", and one 3'x5'. These are replicas of the flags that flew on the Black Pearl in POC.

WAY COOL, John! I guess that we need to start sharing our surprises a bit more? LOL! Some people have been pming me with special things that they will be bringing for the cruise but want it to be a surprise because it is unique. That way if someone asks if something is being taken care of, I will be able to respond.

Nathan is already 4 and I figure I only have maybe 13 summers or so left before he goes to college to try to fit all this in. How in the world am I going to fit all that in plus do WDW and DCL a lot? I just don’t have the time or money to make this work….I need to win the lottery!

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I try not to think that far ahead. I don't want to think of the kids growing up that much.

Yup, I booked 9:30 the first day. DH is afraid he's going to have a cold splash down but that's just the way it will be!

I was looking at DJ costumes for John but I think it would be hot not to mention a turn off....(we'll be using ours at MNSSHP as well)......

that's how it works here, too.

I did have to go in 1 day - the arguments were heard on both sides, and we were released for lunch. I couldn't have convicted because the prosecuting DA didn't present enough evidence in my mind, so I'm thinking the guy was innocent. Come back from lunch, and we're immediately released because the defendent plead GUILTY right after they dismissed us!! I was so mad! I wanted to find that kid and give him what for for wasting my morning!!

DD got to preschool just fine. She had kept telling me she wanted someone to stay with her, but when we got there, she didn't say a word about that and went right to work on a puzzle. Then the little girl she knows came over and gave her a big hug! I have a half an hour until I have to leave to pick her up.

Since Samantha turns five next year on Halloween she still won't be in K yet so that means probably the last year we cruise in December.

Dh has been bugging me to go during the summer or during May....personally I would rather go during hurricane season but the fall months are just so darn packed for us...heaven forbid we miss a Gator game or something.

Not sure how the schools here are about missing during the year. I guess I will find out in a couple years! It may also mean that we may not be able to take as many long weekend trips either....at least we are getting it in while we can!


Becka - DH and I have been discussing other places to vacation. Our 10 year is 2010....yes we married in '00 so DH would have NO issue remembering how many years we've been married! We'd like to go to Alaska, Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, more of the islands.....I've been hesitant while the girls are so young. Contrary to what most people believe I do know that my girls remember and have great memories - Samantha talks about our trips all the time, but going on a plane with them, well I wanted to wait until they are both a tad bigger so I could keep them occupied a little better. My dream is to take them to England with my family --- my maternal side is all from the UK and all still have green cards, but I would like our 4 generations to go while my Grandma is still young and able.

Vanessa, DS is in 2nd grade & DD is in 1st and there is nothing they are doing in school right now that will be ruining their school careers by missing 8 days for the cruise IMO. In the end, we have to make the right decision for our own family. I am not willing to put off going on a great vacation until they are out of school since DH is usually busy with work in the summer months. Noone has a guarantee that life will wait until then. God forbid something happens to one of us, I want everyone to have the memories now.

You know - I was just checking the DCL website (still refusing to give up hope of a discount) and they are showing availability in 4-11, which is shocking to me. I wonder if they have a lot of people that are a GTY status that haven't been placed yet.

Oh well, it just isn't in the cards this year...it would just help tremendously with the onboard account...I've already spent a fortune and haven't even boarded yet!

You know this movie better than I gave you credit for.

I never thought of doing different versions of Elizabeth. Good thinking! Anna Maria Rocks She is my absolute Favorite.

Who was Tia Dalma? If she is in POTC 2 it's no wonder I don't know who she is.

Of course we could always drop back to the POTC ride and do the "wenches" on parade including "RED".
