We are terrible parents! Both our kkids slept better on their tummy so we that is how we let them sleep. I know all the studies and horror stories but if we were ever going to get any rest then tummy it was!

We did not even KNOW about the sleeping on the back thing with ours. Or carseats with the first two, or bike helmets with any of them. I wonder how they survived?? I don't think we were bad parents though....just unknowing?

Me too, and Kim's post made me think of Erma. Reading her books and laughing at myself with her gave me permission to be human and still be a good mom!

Thank goodness your audiologist went to bat for you. What a frustrating situation!! So glad it worked out. Which shipping company lost them?

DHL lost them. our audiologist told us they will handle everything from here. I am just so relieved. This year has been just unreal with insurance situations with us.

our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan burnt in our driveway in may. we had to fight with two different insurance carriers and Chrysler to get it resolved. then the hearing aide situation. I think I have cussed every insurance carrier in the books.

I finally decided that DH & I are going to palos. we've been on the boat twice but never been. we got ressies for tuesday at 7pm. DH agreed that he is taking a sports coat/dinner jacket. he still says no tux. oh well at least I got this far.

Today I feel like the most horrible mother. This morning DD and I had a meltdown over her clothes. She did not like the ones I picked and when I tried to talk to her, it was obvious that the Dragon Tales are way more interesting than I am didn't even hear me talking, so when I brought up the 2nd outfit, I got attitude. We usually do this at night, but because DH is gone, I let her sucker me into watching the wild. Well, lets just say I did not act my age. I told DD it wasn't a 6 year old and mommy fight, it was 2 6 year olds. I threw her clothes on the floor and got all sarcastic with attitude. That works so well! Neither one of us slept well last night and both went to bed WAY to late. But, she has an excuse. I feel like such a dork. Who acts like that. How old am I! I feel ashamed...

Happens to all of us Kim . . .

There is a 6 year old living inside all of us, sometimes the good side of that six year old comes out, and sometimes the bad one . . .

I have read Erma Bombeck but not for many many years. She's a hoot.

I now have a new best friend. She is 11 years old and looks just like me but with straight hair and young skin. We went shopping for a birthday present for a party she is going to this weekend. We also got a bubble skirt and leggings for her to wear. Now she is prancing around the house modeling different versions of what goes with the skirt and leggings.

So seeeee. Even bad Mom days can turn around.

Or, it could be because I spent $$. I hope that's not it.

What a crazy day. I still don’t have a fix to our production problem but we went ahead and backed out all of the changes. I don’t feel personally too bad because I know that I did what I needed to do as far as testing, etc.. It is a system thing that is not happening in test. No one seems to know why this is happening or how to fix it. Somedays I just LOVE my job.

On top of all of that DH talks to his Mom today and my MIL is talking about going on a cruise! This is a woman who thought we were insane for traveling at all especially with the kids because it was so dangerous. She really freaked out about the cruise because she was convinced we would all just fall off the boat. Now she is talking about going on one herself???? She wants us to explain how to book one, etc.. She says she wants to take one next year and she is actually considering Disney because they don’t have casinos and she thinks there will be far less drinking/smoking and the entertainment will be PG. I think she is under the impression that we are booking one for next year and she wants to go with us. I told DH he had better tell her that the next time we book DCL it will probably be for late 2008. I am wondering if she is just going to decide to come with us on this cruise instead!!!

Now one part of me says we would have extra help with the kids and that could be good but the other half of me says to run like you-know-where. I cannot imagine having her around most of the time. She would want to eat together, see the shows together, sit at the pool together, etc.. and I have other plans. I really want to hang out with you guys and I can’t possibly imagine explaining to her that I have plans with strange people I met on the Internet! I also plan to have a good time and act a little crazy and I can’t imagine her reaction to that. I think that just might do her in. She already suspects I am the worst Mom on Earth and this will just confirm it for her!

Becka - you have no idea how I feel for you . . . no idea . . . as I hang up from the third call from my MIL this evening . . .

All that talk last yesterday about ear infections and now guess what.... that's right, I have one. I took Sophia to the DR this afternoon just to have her checked to make sure that it was her allergies that have been acting up and not something worse. Well she is fine. While we were there I asked the DR if she could maybe look at my ear as my glands were hurting and it reminded me of how I felt in Florida in May. By the way, we all go the same DR. Anyway, sure enough I have a double ear infection.

Now maybe we could chat about good things like winning the lottery, and I will catch that too!!

I have a question about the new ipod, apple, disney thingy. What in the heck does this mean?

Keep in mind that I don't own an Ipod so I'm a little behind here.

1. Does this just mean people are going to start watching movies on the bus, train, and in the coffee shop on little 2" screens?

or

2. Does this mean DVD is going to be dead like VHS is dead and I'm going to have to rewire the home video system again?

Help me! I'm just a simple gal from Atlanta.

In answer to question #1, people are already doing that - in cities all over the country, and I would bet even in GA! Until this week it was only TV shows - now it is Disney movies too.

As to DVD's - they won't be dead for awhile, after all, CD's are still around - but some day I am sure that all content will be delivered digitally and stored on a server in your house instead of on disc media. TIVO and the computer are sure to be put together soon - after all, that is what a TIVO is anyway - a specialized computer.

And . . . Apple comes out with a set-top box next year, so just wait and see! It will allow you to send the content from your computer wirelessly to your TV (it will be hooked up to your TV with wires).

Why don't you tell MIL that you REALLY wanted to go on the Dec 1 2007 cruise, and would love to have her with you guys, but you decided you just can't afford it next year . . . Hint . . . Hint . . .

Maybe she will offer to book the cruise and take everyone along!

Then you guys can join us again!

But . . . don't tell her about your internet friends.

You know I decided to take Vanessa's advice and look for a Wendy costume at WDW - I would save the shipping cost even if the price is the same as on Ebay.

I also am finding it easier to just put things aside for the cruise as I put away the summer things. It is already fall here - looks like no Indian summer this year. Already too cold for sleeveless attire.

I also bought several new things for DD and DS so I have those all together in a large box and I just keep dropping things in there. I have another box started for items I want to ship ahead.

It does seem that between the purchases, excursions, onboard shopping - that this little cruise is going to really add up. LOL.
