Same here. We have gone to Orlando every year since 1998 and have not gone anywhere but WDW. (Well, we did venture down to Kennedy Space Center one trip. ) We bought VWL and then added on points (cash) at BCV when that opened. We have stayed at BCV - love the short walk to Epcot!- and OKW. Looks like we will be staying at VWL this year if the waitlist does not come thru. We like OKW because of the tropical atmosphere, we LIVE in an area like VWL.

aaaah I don't understand what you are saying. VWL? OKW? it's like learning a new language.

BCV = Beach Club Villas
OKW = Old Key West
VWL = Villas at Wilderness Lodge

For those who will be at the Port on Friday evening where are you eating dinner that night? We just drove over the day of the cruise last time so this will be our first time actually in Cocoa Beach. DH is a big seafood lover and some of the restaurants listed in the Passporter sounded good but I don't know about the atmosphere with two tired kids. Any real casual places to eat with the kids with good seafood - especially crab labs since those are DH's favorite?

Becka - we've done Grills before...might just do that again. We thought the food was decent and atmosphere very casual. THere is another seafood restaurant right beside it, but can't remember the name. Where were you going to go?

I actually checked our Grills website today since it was listed in the Passporter and it sounded good. I just was not sure if it would be good for the kids. They did not have a kids menu although I could find things on the menu that they could eat.

Wild fact ---- I was on the phone with a CM making changes to DD's bday plans and we got disconnected....I immediately called back and I got her again! We were both so shocked we could speak of nothing more for about 3 minutes.

I keep checking in with work about the storm. Being a community hospital, we go into lockdown, provide shelter for certain "teams", have to evacuate certain patients, etc. Luckily since we are a communtiy hospital the state/county provides excellent up to date info for us. As of 2pm today the track is headed for us/Tampa.

V - I'll be thinking of you guys and keeping you in our prayers. My parents live south of Tampa so we're always watching the storms. Take care!!

Becka - my kids got chicken fingers if I remember correctly. I know they didnt' have any problems.

We survived our first football game today. Didn't win but I thought the kids did great. We do have a coach who really doesn't coach...he seems to be more there to make sure his son gets all the glory. KWIM? Kinda sad for the team. The son is the QB for offense and he plays defense. Well he got hurt on defense and guess what....we have no backup QB...cause apparently the coach never got around to finding one. Geeesh! We winged it. The kids had a blast. I only wish they were learning the basics of the game and not necessarily that winning is everything.

It rained a lot too today and is continuingto rain. DH is actually outside prepping some of the yard area beside our driveway so he can lay some leftover pavers....but I look outside and it is just pouring.

I'm so tired from not sleeping last night that I think I'm gonna go workout and get the kids ready for that first day of school and call it a night.

Take care everyone!!

Happy first day of school to anyone else!!!!

Now it is shifted right over us so I can't help but thinking that once over Cuba it will shift more to the right.

That is too bad that they have a coach like that. It never ceases to amaze me how crazy some parents are about their kids sports. :sad2:

went down to the beach and WOW - what a gorgeous evening. We played on the swings/slides and then came home. Grilling out steaks again with some nice honey glazed carrots and potatoes and onions.

I am so jealous! You can just go over to the beach and then you can come home and eat steak tonight.

I get to stay home and eat a Lean Cuisine. :sad:

Ok I am going to try that picture thing again.. John, you are exactly right about why DD likes Ariel. This is her with her hair down on the 4th of July with friends.

And this is her with her ice skating coach. That outfit cost more than most of my dresses! Can you believe it! I mean it is what 1/2 a yard?

Can you all tell I am so entranced by my new posting skill!

Nice pictures Kim! :)

You might try to resize them before you upload them to the site. That way that will not be quite as large. :)

Ok - I SHOULD be eating a LC~! The beach was awesome though....almost seemed the "calm before the storm". DH maintains we (as in SRQ) are "protected".....the Ringling's buried elephants along Long Boat Key and the barrier islands - sacred animals, the Indians came here during storms as they felt it was safe grounds - basically there are many myths....we both hope they are true.

as if the clothes and shoe situation weren't bad enough...Haley is OBSESSED with shoes....she currently has on one of Samantha's old dress shoes ---- only one.

You are kidding, right? I thought I was the only one in the world with a 19 month old daughter who has a shoe obsession! She wants her own shoes on most of the time - even with PJs and she loves everyone else's shoes. We have to hide them from her if we don't want her to play with them. She will wear anyone's shoes she can find.

ugh no - "shoe" was Haley's first word (aside from "ma ma" "da da").....I'm thinking maybe she grow up to design those $400 and up shoes and take care of her cool parents!
She LOVES shoes and her current objective is getting socks on.....it's a hoot to watch.
