I played the snare (?) and the drum set, not the marching honking heavy one. I probly would have stuffed it over my band teachers head.

It is 11:43 here. I still have my drum and hope my boyd dont want to play it in school. I would like them to learn to sing and read music and maybe play the hermonica. My grandpa used to play for me and I thought it was so neat. Then my DB bought my boys both one for christmass one year what a joy that was. A 3 and 4 yo with them. :rolleyes1

I still can't believe your teacher said that to you. There are wuite a few girls in percussion in DD's school band.

Just hoping no drums for the boys. When I was in coll. I lived with a guy who played the drums. Most of the time he played the padded block of wood or the electric sticks. drove me crazy all the time. you couldn't study, watch t.v., read or think. He is in a band still and plays on weekends here. I go see him about once a year and he's still a fun guy, I just don't have to live with hin now.

I almost tried to talk DD into the drums for the simple fact that they only have to carry around the sticks (and sticks are cheap compared to other instruments :rolleyes:

). But how true that they beat on anything and everything.
