Thanks for the heads up Lisa. I just rushed to the website and paid in full to avoid the increase. :thumbsup2

OMG DD would absolutely LOVE something like that!!

Just picked up two sleepy kids from the library lock-in. They had a great time! The played games, had a scavenger hunt, made a craft, had a snack, found books, got in their sleeping bags for a showing of Pinocchio, and then could read by flashlight until 1am.

Our library has been doing it a few times a year for about 4 years now. Sometimes it's just for the older kids, sometimes boys only/girls only. The kids' librarian is a great lady to take on the event each time!

Wow - you guys weren't too bad last night. I guess the chat room had you busy. I'm caught up with getting ready for company. Actually- I'm trying to figure out if I should cut up all the stuff for grilling so I cat sit with DBro or should I save that chore so I have an excuse to be away from his screamign children. Hm... I'm usually the "prepare everything in advance" kinda person so this is killing me not to....but...

Oh - and Lisa- I did break down and vacuum and dust the main areas. I just can't stand for people to think I'm a messy lazy person.

Well, they should be here in about another 2 hours. I probably won't be around too much. Take care all.

oh - and Kim- is that your new button I read earlier "Likes to sniff duct tape"

BYE BYE!!!

What kind of car are you looking to get, John? :drive: Next saturday we're going out to buy me a Toyota Camry. :car: I was looking at the 2006's and 2007's and the 2007 is only about $150. more than the 2006 and a few added standard features that are worth a lot more than $150. I'm kind of surprised there aren't any better deals for their 2006's right now. :scratchin

Tynk,

We currently have a Ford Freestyle, and I was going to wait to get the new Edge. We always buy Ford because my dad worked there, and I get the retiree discount.

Well, Ford calls me yesterday, and they tell me the Edge will not be available until Jan 1! My dealer told me later this month!

Anyway, 2006 Freestyle has $2500 rebates, and 2007 only $500! Big difference, and little difference in car from what I see. So I need to call the dealer today and get the scoop. I wish sometimes we could just buy a regular car, but experience tells me that I need the room of some kind of SUV or minivan. We had a minivan for too MANY years before. I sure wold like better gas mileage too - looked at the Escape hybrid - but costs as much as the Freestyle, and NO rebates, and is MUCH smaller.

Decisions, decisions . . .

BTW - Really have liked this freestyle great car to drive - esp with AWD here in the winter. Just wishing for a little better mileage with gas at $3!

John

All of you whose DHs wimped out & weren't there for the delivery or were watching TV... :grouphug:. The only time DH left the room was with DD and I had gone from 1 to 5 cm in 20 minutes. They told me that they didn't know if I would have time to get an epideral and I started bawling. :( They hadn't done anything yet. Suddenly I had someone putting in an IV & giving me nubane. The next nurse wanted me to sign the paperwork. :rotfl2: Yeah, right! I'm not able to see the words or the lines on the paper & she wants me to sign something. It was a consent form for the epideral. I told her that I couldn't do it but I knew that my DH could sign it for me. She said yes then I looked at him & said if you don't sign that form for the epideral you will pay for it for the rest of you life....or something to that effect. :rotfl: Suddenly the doctor was there with the epideral & someone else was trying to draw blood. Keep in mind that I was floating on drugs & having to hold onto the nurse for dear life. I told the lab tech to stop & wait her turn. The doc had priority and then she could take all the blood she wanted because I wasn't going anywhere. :lmao: DH came back in after that. I don't blame him...looking back it was probably better than a comedy scene on a TV show and he knew that if he was out of sight until it settled down I wouldn't yell at him.

I just read this post about the tickets. Might want to check with someone else to make sure.

Just got off the phone with CRO and the CM confirmed this for me. According to her (& the instruction sheet that they had just been given that she was reading off of) if you have an existing package booked for check-in through December 31, 2006 and have made the initial $200 deposit, your ticket prices will not increase. In other words, your ticket prices are locked in & it is not necessary to make your final payment before tomorrow's increase.

She also confirmed that 2007 packages will be available for booking tomorrow. She wasn't sure about 2007 AAA rates, but thought those would be tomorrow, too, or shortly thereafter.

I also asked about how the tax increase that goes into effect Sept. 1 would be handled for those of us with packages that are paid in full before then. According to her sheet, if the package was not paid in full by August 1, 2006 & check-in is Sept. 1 or later, you will be responsible for the difference. It just wasn't clear how/when it would be handled (at check-in, a separate bill from CRO, etc.). I hope that makes sense to someone -- I'm not sure why the Aug. 1 date is important (was the rate increase approved that day?), I just know that since I don't check-in until Sept. 30, I will be paying a little more in tax (but not on tickets ).

BTW- I was there for every part of the L and D - just got to watch baseball while they gave Amy the Edpidural . . . wouldn't have missed it for the world, and I have the photos- not the right in your face ones, just the baby - to prove it!

I am just wondering, if my past experience is a good measurement, since all of you girls have already talked about your MIL's, and your entire childbirth experiences, and a lot about your rearing of your children and your husbands, just WHAT are you going to talk about when we all get together? :rotfl2:

I am imagining a scene in the port with all of you staring at each other with nothing to say . . .

Nope, that won't happen with this group - I've already met Lisa and V and Mrs. Mork - :teeth:

John

Hey Tynk - did you know there is a Camry hybrid out now?

Also, not going to worry about the park tickets . . .

Our AP's expire on the 17th - no point in renewing then. I would rather save the $$$ and renew the next time we are at WDW, which may not be until Spring 2007.

John

This close to a milestone, and they left us by ourselves? pirate:

If only we had the magic powers :wizard: to avoid the 40 second red card rule! pirate:

But alas, we have to do it the "Grunt" way, 40 seconds at a time pirate:

Amy might not be happy if she knew we were wasting time! pirate:
