Good luck to Carla and John (well, to the Red Sox and Indians) so they can finish their series. I got to enjoy the Phillies fan bandwagon crashing (too many people who dumped their team a month ago and then suddenly became fans again when the Mets imploded!). My baseball team (Pirates) hasn't seen the postseason in ages, so I don't have a horse in the race.

But my Heels got a victory over Miami yesterday :woohoo: !! Late Night with Roy kicks off college hoops time this week, too; all is good in the college world this week for me.

Back to costume-making for Halloween... Hannah will be dressed as a guest at a Masquerade Ball; Walt will be a cowboy. Elizabeth is undecided!

:thumbsup2 Me too!:woohoo:

Not me! STANFORD!! For pity sake! The worst team in the whole nation! 41 point underdog!! :sad2: :sad2: Oregon State last year was bad enough, but Stanford?? They better come out blazin' the rest of the season!

What started out as a promising night for the Indians has turned into a Yankee nightmare . . . looks like this will be the only series that does not end in a sweep.

Just in case I haven't mentioned it before . . .

I HATE THE YANKEES!

So we haven't heard from Becka and her Mac lately.

Maybe she is enjoying her Mac so much that she has no time to post!

Hope you're having fun Becka!

We have gotten bad news here this evening. My brother's wife is not expected to survive the night....without a miracle. She fell over 3 months ago, lay with her leg under her for hours with the circulation cut off. My brother got her up when he got home and by morning the leg was not looking good. They got her to the hospital and she was sent by life flight to Seattle. Her leg eventually had to be amputated, and it seemed she was doing ok except for an infected bed sore on her back. My dear sweet brother was able to stay with her for the first 2 weeks then had to go back to work to pay the bills. He was spending his 2 days off driving the 5 hours to spend some time with her. This afternoon he got a call saying her heart was "doing funny stuff" to quote him, her breathing is labored and her kidneys have been shutting down for the last few days. They have moved her to intensive care again and told him needs to get there ASAP. My niece who was just here visiting this weekend is driving him over and their other children are also on their way. I am just so sad for him. They are the only couple we know that are more devoted to each other than we are. He absolutely adores her. He told me early on that without her there is no reason for him to live. Although I know he will keep going on, I also know he will be lost and I don't know how to help him. All prayers for them will be appreciated.

Then I also got a call that my favorite uncle is at the hospital in Spokane with his wife. She too is in intensive care. They are in their 80's and married only 3 years. They are just so cute and in love. It did not sound like she was in imminent danger, but she does have a blood clot in her groin area. That can be very dangerous, but she is getting treatment to dissolve it. I called and talked with my uncle and he sounded so very tired. My cousin said he was at his door at 5 am this morning with the dog for them to watch. He has over a 3 hour drive from his house to my cousin's so I know he was on the road before 2 am. I told him he needs to get over to the hotel and get some rest and then get a fresh start with the docs in the morning. He said he would do that.....I hope he did. Prayer for them too please.

Angie,

I am so sorry! Steve's uncle passed thursday and we were all so happy that he could get to be with his wife. (they were married for 75 years she died a few months ago) It seems like with couples that close, they are just 2 people with 1 heart.

I just got back from CT and have only one more work trip this season. YEA!!!!

I miss you all! We made snowmen Saturday at our house, and I read you all are having a heat wave. Wow, it is a big country.

Angie, I hope you and Dennis are all doing as well as can be expected.

Has anything important happened with Disney Cruising recently?

One crazy pirate: checking in with the crew. Hope everyone is doing well. I am gearing up for the December cruise and WDW trip already. :thumbsup2

We had a wonderful evening yesterday. DD and DSIL came to our MH and we played SkipBo...DD won 2 games and I won 2 games. :) The boys did not do so good! :lmao: The sun came out today so Dennis and I took our new collapsable bikes out for a 2 mile spin. We had a really good time, the bay was lovely that we rode by. Then we unhooked everything and headed home. J
Just before we got back home I got the call from my brother. His wife passed away shortly after 3 today. This is so sad for him, they were completely devoted.:sad1: Services will be sometime later this week.

Oh Angie, At the least they had some time to be together this last week. HUGS for you and the family.

Ok, we simply HAVE to win the lottery! You are doing 12/6, Brack is doing the first week in Jan 09 and several other Geeks are doing either the second or third week of Jan 09. OY!! What to do, what to do! :confused3 Need more $$ for cruising! ;)
