BTW Lisa, since you are an IC, have you looked into deducting your business expenses (computer, internet service, etc.) and the cost of maintaining your work space dedicated to your business in your home?

Oh yes! I am going to make an appt with an accountant once the kids go back to school. The first thing that I need to do is make an estimated tax payment. I am going to make those quarterly. I know that you get to deduct a percentage of the square footage of your home as office space, along with my laptop, headphones, wireless router and with working 87 hours a week I will be able to deduct the entire cost of our internet service.

Actually, when we are on the ship and I need to log on to get my schedule for the weeks after we return, that cost will be a business expense as well.

I simply don't have the time to figure out the legalities of it all with the work hours and when I am not working...or trying to sleep...I want to spend time with Mike and the kids. Besides, I have been doing our taxes since forever and have done okay with investments and such but I don't want to mess up on this. Besides, having the accountant take care of everything is another business expense. I will probably have them do our taxes next year as well so that I don't have to mess with that.

How R U? How are the grapes doing? We bottled about 47 bottles of wine last night. We have about 47 more to go. It is just so-so this year, but Angie likes it. She is a Wino though, so it's understandable. She likes T-bird.

Well, the laptop is actually so that I can work the long hours and the family can get the desktop back. Poor Mike hasn't been able to DIS or ebay for a while now. This makes it convenient for me too. If I am on standby and don't have a job I can take it upstairs with me and work until a job comes along.

I was about to continue typing but heard Brandi telling me to make a seperate post. rofl Today has been pretty uneventful...tht seems to happen when you don't get up until 10 am. Yesturday I worked my butt off cleaning this house. I didn't just move things around and tidy up...I threw things out and replaced picture frames that have been in corners for ... well, let's just say a while. William has gotten very slack about picking up his room lately so every week it seems that I have to clean it. Well, I got more of those fabric cubes for his room and now it doesn't look so scattered in his closet. Since Kaitlyn is giving up her bed to our friend's dd next week, and she is 14 and quite a bit taller than Katie, I got some cubes for her room to stuff some of her zoo into. I filled three of them and there are still big ones at the head of her bed. I wont dread changing her sheets so much anymore. It takes me longer to deal with the kid's bed friends than it does for me to change the sheets! OY!

We had a nice time playing cards tonight. Eliza was getting so tired she kept falling over. We knew it was time to call it a night!

15 gal of wine bottled, 5 more to go. Somebody dropped one of the car boys (well it was very heavy!) and the sediment at the bottom got all shook up. DrHug had to put clarifier in it again to settle it back to the bottom and now we need to wait at least a week. Since we are going to Kennewick, WA next weekend for neice's wedding I think it will settle for 2 weeks.
