You guys have been there with us with MIL's cancer battle. I got an email this morning that has more bad news. I really do not know how much more she can endure.

Lisa - your DMIL may find that she feels better when the ailing kidney is removed. Do you know the condition of the remaining kidney? I hope the operation is a success!!! Sending positive thoughts your way.

Elaine, all I know is that last September it was working at 60% capacity...which is why they didn't remove the one at 40% at the time.

I used the oven in the MH for the first time today! :thumbsup2 Oatmeal raisin cookies for DrHug when he gets home tonight! He came "home" for lunch and I am glad he did so he could help me figure out how to light the oven.

Yummy! I love oatmeal raisin!! DrHug is SOOO HANDY!

I remember you mentioned making 2 apple pies and I wondered if you had made them in the MH. I'm very curious how those ovens work?

You are so lucky that you can take those days off and be a Dr. Hug "groupie".

I wanna be a Dr. Hug Groupie!

LOL! Then you have DS who has 2 dates for the school dance on Friday. He has known both girls since they were in 2 year PS together. He has gone with Hannah since Kindergarten. He talked to Katie on the playground & she said that she wasn't going to the dance with anyone so he asked her. DH told him that he had to tell one of them that he can't take them. Good grief! :rotfl: DS said that they aren't married or anything so they can just go as friends...so it will be a "friend date." He asked me last night if he was going on a double date. :lmao:

Wow, our kids don't have school dances until they are in 7th grade. Even when Alex went to the magnet school for the gifted program and it was 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders, the 5th and 6th graders were not permitted to come to the dances.

I'm trying to remember if when I was William's age we did the boy/girl thing and I honestly think we were still in that stage where we thought the opposite sex all had cooties. I just think kids are growing up way too fast. Whatever happened to Cooties???

I wanna be a Dr. Hug Groupie!

:lmao: :rotfl: You are welcome to come along anytime! He would love it! Although, I have to tell you that most of his true groupies are 7-17 years old. Various neices, nephews, grandkids and friends. So be prepared! :lmao:

Elaine, the oven worked fine for the cookies. I am not sure that the temp is right on though so we are planning to get one of those thermometers that you can put in there to check the actually temp. before I try the pies, justot be safe. I had used our friend's oven at their house when I baked them on the Montana trip.

The elementary school has always had a spring dance. Usually the kids just go on their own. They can't be dropped off...parents have to stay & all of the teachers have to be there. DS has known these 2 girls since 2 year PS so they are all great pals. He does say that he wants to marry Hannah one day when they are both "way older." LOL!

Lisa,

While not the same circumstances, I know what Mike must be going through. It is very difficult. Tell him our thoughts are still with him and his family.

My goodness!

Over 12 hours without a post!

What has happened to us?

We're all crushed with sorrow at letting you grab an easy pirate: .....
or something.

I am just enjoying time with my mom and the quiet time here on the coast. Poor Dennis is working, but hey someone has to pay for all my fun! ;)

We will pick Dennis up for lunch in a little while then our plan for the afternoon is to just prowl around the "beachy" shops on the coast highway for awhile. We have just rested this morning, not done much except put some stew in the crockpot for dinner and make the bed. Oh, I did take the trash out too. ;) :)
