Welcome Kim and all other "newcomers" to the December Double Dip. One warning - don't get behind in the posts, because this group is hard to catch up with!! (trust me - i know).

Lisa - great idea about the school supplies. Our local "biglots" is having a sale on school supplies and the prices are quite good. Do you know how many students there are, and what types of supplies they need?

Have a good Monday everyone.

Suzanne

Suzanne, I will ask David to find out how many kids they have in the school. Someone said that they needed playground balls when they asked...but I am thinking more along the lines of the smaller items that wont take up as much room.

I have decided that you all must be saints. I have friends who are not as nice as you are all. Lisa, you are unbelievable! All the work you have done and continue to do.... It's amazing. I can't wait to meet you all and I have only been on this board a few weeks. Really, you are all amazing.. Maybe it's because you all care about your families so much.

Kim
Yep, ::yes:: Really nice group of people here. :grouphug:

Congratulations on the lawsuit, and good luck with the new job Karen! :thumbsup2

You know the windsock we put on our fish did the same thing as the extender in the sale. We found tissue and a dollar bill in her bikini top.
:rotfl2: Good one Brack.

Well I am watching the plummer dig up my front yard this morning before I head to work. Our water line broke leading to the house. :guilty: The original was not "code", so the whole line has to be replaced. :sad2:

The good news is he will finish it today. The bad news is that it will cost almost as much as our cruise! :confused3

Oh Well!

I love the school supplies idea... I know it will have an impact on my kids to give to others like that. Especially reminding them of that during their vacation.

The balls would be a great idea but would take up too much luggage space. :( Maybe we could pick up a gym bag and some balls once we reach Florida. Something to consider I suppose.

If anyone wants to bring stuff for the kids, I'm sure that we can get it to the school. It will make it really easy for us since we will be picked up right at the pier. :)

The thread to this post is the most current one!

For those of you who have signed up with Lisa, I faxed in the request for the private room at palo's for Brunch on Monday.

I am sending pixie dust to the coordinator....

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry. I just feel that I can so relate to anyone with a house issue....so sorry!!!! Did it cause any damage to the house? Were you home when it broke? :sad2:

Lisa - RE: School supplies - is there a list and we can "sign up" to bring things...just don't want them to get 500 pencils if we all bring pencils....or should we just wing it. Give us a list of ideas when you come up with it.

I am going to ask David when I send him the list of names. I plan to do that tonight. I got another family added on yesterday. HELLO BELLE2000! :) We really wont bite.

BELLE2000 - Welcome!!! We really are a friendly group...talkative at times, but very friendly.

I found playground balls at Office Depot online for $3.69 for 10" balls. Less for smaller sizes, of course. I will look into whether it is possible to have some shipped to the DCL package site - guess they would keep in a box on our veranda - ! LOL.

My only concern is getting off the ship with a big box of playground balls - not like a few paint kits in a bag. Maybe we could each slip one under our T-shirt - we would look kind of like the DCL souveneir TV ad ;):rotfl:

Lisa - I was thinking about the distribution of our goodies on the ship. Is everyone going to take a list of which staterooms belong to our Dis group? Then when we want to send out our treats we just go around the ship that day and distribute them.

Brandi, there is already a list on the website. :) I was thinking of running off a mini DIS navigator on some Christmas paper that I have with the room numbers, and planned DIS events. We can have the goodies to hand out or just put them in the stockings.

Hi all,
Welcome Belle2000! I just jumped in and I think I have lived in or vacationed in the same town as nearly every east-coast DISer in the group (hey west coasters, I spent a week in Spokane once...)

Anyway, it's an amazing group!
