Penny - I tried to get onto the scrapbook thread. I requested being able to read the thread about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering how will I know when I can go to that thread. Let me know.

you are now a member of the group if you head back you can see the posts already up only a few so far, lol. My gmail was acting up so did not see the request until late last week. I am suprised it did not send out an e-mail, maybe it will ask those questions when you head back now.

Penny

Lisa will Pm but I will be doing David and Ian tour with the DIS group, 1 adult!.

Penny

Ages 12 & over $43, Kids under 12 & elderly (IDK the age for this ) $40. There are no age limits like the DCL tour. As far as the ages, I have asked exactly what the tour includes & if it is hands on for the kids. I will post when he emails back. :) I would expect him to say that all ages will enjoy it but that would be something only you can decide for your kids. Ours will be going at 6 & 8 but they have done 10-12 hour days in DC.

I don't see why you couldn't post the site here for anyone who would still like to get one. :)

thank you Lisa, I wasn't quite sure if it was Ok, to post something like that, but I see other postings has listed websites referrals :cool1: .

The site for blank tote bags. www.cheaptotes.com Cheap totes sells a large selection of tote bags .

That isn't a referal because it is a direct link to the website. A referal link is a special link to a site that gives someone credit for directing another person to the site & might even give them something if a person places an order thru their link. :)

Any price on the tour Lisa?

Mark, the cost is in posts 4475 & 4481. I just got an email from David though & there is another option. I am trying to put it all together & will email everyone on the list so that those who don't check in as much here on the board will know about it too.

OK, I am just going to post David's reply without editing it. He explains what the tour involves & why there are some restrictions.

Hello Lisa:
Well, lately some areas in different sites has been forbitten
to climb by the Federal goverment due vandalism,in the case of
chacchoben ,the kids are allow to climb the big fundations and almost
all of then ,they can do it .in the first one ,we are allow to climb
partially to protect the unopen tumb ,the arqueologist are afraid that
with the weight of the people the weak ceiling may collapse,(make
sense).
They will enjoy it,some of then usually find these small
fruits like coconuts from a a palm,we do not are allow to break then
with any rock from the site .
the place has a nice jungle ,termimates
nest, vines, trees, palms ,bromelias, orchids, some of the plants or leaves
I ll give it to then personally,we offer an interactive tour for then
as long as the parents agree.
The new comers are wellcome ,in fatti ,we can consider a
bus for your own group ,but i do need to know the total numbers in time
to fix the transportation ,also remenber we can depart from the port
itself but this costs 50 usd per person .
or the normal tour by vans from Mahahual or a bus
,depending your group number.
please let me know if you have any other question.

Again the cost if we go to the town to meet up with them would be $44 adults 12 + & $40 kids under 12. If we did this, we would have to take the bus which is a couple dollars per person & we would be in the town where most of the prime shopping is. Those who want to ship would just have to get on the bus back to the port when they were done. The ticket is for a round trip, so not very bad.

Lisa, do you know how long the tour is? I just worry about making it back to the ship on time. ;) I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to worst case scenerios so I'd like to know if there's enough time after the end of the tour to give us a cushion if something happens on the way back to the ship.

Plus I'd like to do a little shopping. ;)

Thanks Penny - I will try to get onto the site after I make supper...somebody has to feed the family!!!

Here here - I am a worry wart when it comes to getting back to the boat!

The tour will last around 4 hours...we will get back to the ship in time. :)

Hi all!!

You guys are so chatty, I can never keep up. When do we need to pay by to make our ressies?? 90 days out? I

have

a

dilemma.....

I am studying for the GMAT....I am planning on applying to grad school end of summer/Sept for the Spring 07 year...IF and this is a REALLY BIG IF....I mean a "bad girl" at UF really does something to the GPA....so IF I am accepted I must take 10 days off for a foundation review in Gainesville, not to mention coming up with a good chunk of $30,000. This would be an addition to Dec vacation not to mention leaving DH home alone with both babies....and with his work schedule it won't be pretty.

So here's what's going to happen. We don't have trip insurance. If I don't cancel/make changes I'll get in. If I cancel, move the cruise I'll be denied....Murphy's Law right? I am SOOOO torn...partly what has been keeping me away from this thread. I dearly love DH - he's keeps saying - "V, it's your dream, we can cruise whenever....but I want this DOUBLE DIP cruise....plus we've passed up really GREAT Fl resident cruise deals this year had I really thought about it...oh well....

sorry to sound like such a downer....

Yes, it is 90 days to make ressies. You can still get trip insurance BUT IDK if it will cover being accepted to Grad school. :( You would need to call a company up & ask them about that specifically. Good luck with the GMAT BTW! :)

You are right...that stinks! :( On the other hand...it is going to be a long time before you are going to be able to take time off like this to go on another cruise after Grad school starts. ;)

V - It will all work out! Just wait to make your ressie. Then if you need to cancel your cruise you won't be out the money.

Oh well...I guess that I will just go to bed since noone is around to chat with. :)
