Good morning everyone! Where are you Karen? We are off to the aquarium for the day with friends.

Glad to know I was missed. Guess I get fired for not opening up the thread this AM....being off on Friday created a major backlog of work for me.

okay - did you guys read this on the main cruise board?

"Buyer beware.....we just did the Tulum ruins with our kids 6 and 8....along with our friends and their kids...ranging from 5-13. It was HOT and LONG and BORING for them......you cannot walk into, onto, or around the ruins themselves......roped off and looks only. Lots of long winded tales of the ruins which by most adult standards are interesting and historic. For kids, I would not recommend it, sorry! We paid a lot of $$$ for what we went through with the kids being hot, whiney, tired of walking, and just wanted to swim and have fun. They are a great group of kids, too! Not the type to pike out on activites!


I kinda figured the kids would be able to climb them and run around. Is it true this tour is a lot of walking and talking? My boys are into hands-on stuff. I might discuss with DH.

Are we supposed to call and get our ressies in soon on this one? I can't remember how we left this tour.

I have training in Kansas City Tuesday and Wednesday so I leave home tonight and won't be able to check in again until Wednesday night when I get home...how will I survive?

The only good thing is that I am staying with a really good friend of mine and we will actually get to have dinner out on Tuesday night without the kids while I am in town! I keep trying to convince her that she needs to join us on the cruise but I know just hearing the price might send her into shock! LOL! They like to vacation CHEAP and DCL is never going to fit that bill.

Hey - you guys always have great ideas- I posted this on the community boards but haven't gotten much response.

Has anyone ever had their car invaded by little black gnats? They really don't fly around...they kinda jump - but they aren't fleas. I don't own any animals. They seem to be more dead than alive but there are dozens of them!!! I tried to vacuum them up - pulled all the seats out of the back of the van....thought they were gone....but they are back. Just really annoying. And embarassing! Anyone?

I think that it will be easier if we get a list together here & then send that on to David. He has a paypal account where payments can be made or you can just pay him when we arrive in cash. If you guys want to do that now we can and secure the date with him.

Okay - I'm confused too - which ruins are David and Ian doing? And does anyone know whether it is walking and touring or whether there is any "climbing of the ruins".

I still think we're interested but I'm having trouble keeping it all straight.

But for now - yes Lisa - put 2 adults and 2 kids down under me for the David and Ian tour. Thanks!!!

Hmm - isn't Mark referring to how many days till the cruise? I just took the 105 off his number and came up woth the 73 days.

Karen, are you doing the REAS package or upgraded to a suite? It's 105 days for concierge & REAS but 90 days for CC members otherwise.

Yes, Tynk, this would be a tour booked directly with David & Ivan. http://www.chacchobenruins.com/ It would included a tour of the village of Chacchoben. Ages 12 & over $43, Kids under 12 & elderly (IDK the age for this ) $40. There are no age limits like the DCL tour.

I will email him to let them know that we are getting a list together. I will be able to give him a list of names. Let's try to get this together by this Friday?

OK, I just emailed David to confirm that there is still space available and told him that I will have a list of names by this Friday. I asked about the hand on experiences available for the kids especially. The DCL site says that you will climb on the ruins so I am thinking this is just operated differently than the Tulum ones. I also asked how easy it will be for people to be added to our group after this Friday.
