SO funny that you say where I should work. BK & BDH I was accepted in the Naval OCS program for Intel & Russian Linguistics. The cold war ended & the Gulf war started so that cut the program's budget for intel & after a year of delays I got an honorable discharge.

Lisa a Sailor! I knew that you were cool. I spent four years on an aircraft carrier in the very early '70s. A "swabbie" who knew?

Well, I was close to being a sailor...swore in & had my name on the dotted line but it never actually started. I was greatful that I was able to get out of it when the program I enlisted for was delayed. None of the other branches even guaranteed where you would be assigned. CRAZY!

Brack, we just toured the USS Midway in San Diego. It is a museum now, open for tours. Very, very cool!

I just got some great news!!! The tests that I had done came back normal!!! What a relief. So I guess that it was an anxiety attack...will have to deal with that but it should be alot easier than dealing with heart disease.

Lisa - that is great....but didn't the doctor prescribe some R&R - but on another cruise?!!! I think you should at least try that excuse with your DH. Seriously - so glad to hear your news Now we will have to monitor the stress in your life.

Well - opening up the thread for the AM...


Yesterday was the last day of school for my kiddos. I let each of them invite a friend over to swim and play in the pool. The one little boy was certainly a handful - get this - we are getting out of the car...I've already threatened them that they can't get NEAR the pool until I'm out there. So, getting all my stuff together, I walk into the house and there is my oldest with his little friend in my kitchen....and the friend says, "Gee Mrs. Rhoad, you have a really cool set of knives!".

HUH?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said - GET OUT OF THERE!!!!! What the heck are you guys doing?!!!!!!!!


I'm thinking - this kid needs to be watched.

To say the least - this child won't be spending time at our house. Unfortunatley ..... actually fortunately..... his family is moving away this summer YIPPPEE!!!

Isn't that unbelieveable?!! He's mentioned other things before- about how he shot a real gun and other stuf....but I figured he might just be talking to impress. Now I'm wondering.

I know - the more I think about this child....the scarier it is... but it isn't that his parents don't realize this is happening....I think this is a situation where the parents unfortunately don't care...
