Okay - clothes in dryer.

Last comment (for real) and it IS of course about gadgets. There was this show or news thing about people living without their 20th century stuff and this guy was bemoaning having to do without and I said to Carl. Hey I can do without the cell phone, faxes and the TV no problem. I don't even watch much tv - just my three shows anyway. He starts laughing. I am dead serious and sincere in this discussion mind you. He says...

"Carla that would also mean your computer. You don't watch tv because you do everythingon your computer. You watch movies, listen to music, go on the internet and watch your tv shows...." He say this all laughing and smug.

Yeah, I reply - I suppose you are right - but I really COULD live without the other stuff.

Good night everyone!

Safe Travels Carla!

Have Fun!

One last post . . .

Todd, if you stop by to see your old friends some time, just wanted you to know I am sorry for your loss. Even though I read you and your real father were not close, I hope that your trip to the service in Buffalo brings you peace and closure.

Losing a parent is a difficult thing - there is a bond of blood there no matter how close you may have been.

Find peace my friend.

Did not want to post this "over there" . . .

John

I agree with you totally here John - my parents and I did things completely differently - different times etc. but when I had the twins I realized the extreme sacrifice it is to raise children. There are many times now when I wish I could call my mom and there were so MANY years when I grumbled when I had to. When they are gone it is a long time. In light of that some other things become inconsequential - but maybe that it is easier to say when you have the average guilt inducing childhood ;) not a more extreme one.

It was wonderful to read about your bond with your mother not too many children come away from their childhood feeling that way about their parents.

Todd I am very sorry for your loss, I don't read the PC threads so I did not know - I hope your trip to Buffalo is healing for you. It is good for your sons to see you being a son in spite of the difficulties in the relationship.

hugs, elaine

I will add my love and condolences also, Todd. Less than loving relationships can make it even more difficult because you are not feeling what you think you are "supposed to feel." Makes it hard to know how to grieve. You are a good and strong young man though and you will figure out what is right for you and I know you will find peace. :grouphug:

Todd - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We will be thinking about you. :grouphug:

I know the last update on Autumn was not real good but I hope things have turned around for her. She is a very brave girl.

I have also been wondering about Karen? Has anyone seen her around lately? :confused3

I am glad that you saw this & posted about it here, John. With everything going on yesterday I didn't even think to check to see if Todd had posted about his father on this thread. I thought about it today in Church and have been delayed getting online this afternoon.

Ya think it's been cold?? I still have my gas bill to pay... Since the addition isn't heated yet, but it is open to the rest of the house, my gas bill was over $500 this month. I think we should buy some stock in this John. :sad2:

ok we got our gas bill...... A whopping $103.00

i know pity party...

But that's twice what we paid last month....

I really just stumbled over there to see what was going on, and was lucky to see Todd's post. I really don't lurk over there, just chance.

For you guys who were in chat Friday when the talk was about toys, and I mentioned "Major Matt Mason" . . . found him on the web:

He was actually made by Mattell, and was introduced in 1967, so I was about 7 years old when I had him.
