We are both at work and fine. Sophia is at Grandma's because of no school. Yeah, it's bad, but people totally panic and get all wound up. As long as you take it easy and are careful, everything is OK.

I got up at 5:00 and did the driveway and walks again before coming in. If I get a chance, maybe I will post a picture for you warm weather Geeks. All told we probably got about 10 inches of snow here in the 24 hours. A Pain, but manageable.

Finally looks like winter!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

John, Amy, Marielle and everyone else in the storms path. Please take care! I can't even watch the news with all the car wrecks and not worry about y'all. Steves dear mother used to say "It's not you I worry about driving dear, its everyone else on the road."

Take Care!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! I am still not getting much better. A little bit, maybe. Argh! I went to the Urgent care yesterday, and I was right. I do have the flu. :confused3 At least I got some Tylenol 3 to keep me from coughing, so I can sleep. The OTC stuff, Dextromethorphan, just wasn't working. Influenza...I hate you! I had the crappy shot too. What a waste. With this stuff you have to get better to die. I am having a total body ache.
I need to be at CC. Yeah! that's the ticket.:)

Thanks for the:grouphug: and good thoughts. If anyone had any bad thoughts, well, thanks for those too!:rotfl:

John, we were right! Again!:scared1:

Men: Scary News If You Had a Vasectomy :scared1:
Men who have had a vasectomy face a higher risk of developing a rare form of dementia that is characterized by a steady loss of language skills, Reuters reports of new research from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Specifically, the male sterilization technique has been linked to a neurological condition called primary progressive aphasia, or PPA.

All of you be careful out there, especially in the storm areas. :grouphug:

I just mean that maybe they misdiagnosed or or didn't give her a strong enough medicine. Antibiotics generally help the kids feel better in 24 hours with ear infections & strep. :grouphug:

Bacteria can develop resistance to antibiotics, rendering them 'not as effective to ineffective' because of ABX over prescribing and overuse. Probably needs a different ABX treatment. It's not that there's misdiagnosis.Antibiotic resistance has become a real problem. That's why infections by MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staph. Aureus) have become so prevalent. Now I hear there is a MRSA pneumonia going around. NOW THAT"S :scared1: ! There are some Staph and Strep strains out there there are totally resistant to any ABX, mainly because they have developed strong resistance.

what is with the boards?

Lisa - nice pirate!

no cp here tonight. John is in charge tonight - whatever it is will be cooked with whole sticks of butter.

ALL Right! GO BUTTER! We have used only butter since my bypass 10 years ago. Butter is best!

Well, that was not a fun shoveling job! Sort of like shoveling sno-cone shaved ice ... extra heavy, wet sno-cones. I spent some extra time getting the driveway really clear, since it will stay below freezing for days, and I really hate an iced driveway.

But the nice thing is that most of the people on the street were out shoveling, too. We have the nicest bunch of neighbors. Those who finished their driveways headed to another house to help them finish, too.

I'm staying off the roads today... to many spin out accidents today on the news. And they're warning about everything refreezing at sundown.

So, it will be soup for dinner tonight, I think. DH just let me know that they are still in the OR, so he won't be home until late tonight. Now I don't feel guilty about serving a boring Valentine dinner!

Dennis, hope you feel better soon.

And everyone is warm and safe. I have to tell you though, it is a gorgeous day here. I guess it is gearing up for the bitter cold that is supposed to come this weekend. It's 77 right now...

In the paper this morning they showed the SRQ Police Dept are testing out the use of Segways for patroling! We have Segways here for rent, not really sure where in Sarasota you would want to use them!

I am off to get my princesses....as of late they are really testing my patience, which is generally slim to none anyway. They just WILL NOT go to bed. I am sure there are worse things but when you can't even bathe alone, some peace and quiet would be nice. Them sharing a room really doesn't help and the fact they can hear us in the family room....last night all was quiet, they were in there room, John and I on the couch watching tv....and we were talking about something and I said do you really think I made the right choice....Samantha pipes up (from her room), "yeah mom, you did good!".....we couldn't help but laugh, but really it is getting old fast!

Thanks V. Happy V day to you! AND Happy Valentine's Day too! ;) :flower3:

Now I hear there is a MRSA pneumonia going around. NOW THAT"S :scared1: !

I think that's what i had Dennis... It was really strange..I was fine on a friday...Had a slight sore throat the next morning and by Sunday it went right to my lungs and i was wheezing.....I've had bronchitus before but i have never wheezed before. I actually felt worse after the z-pack. I even had to get an albuterol inhaler and really used that thing. (Again, i've never had to use an inhaler before either.)

Luckily it cleared up the week before my surgery. I felt so bad i actually missed three gym classes over a week and that's a biggie for me.

All safe and sound and at home here. After re-clearing our driveway, and then driving over and doing my MIL's too . . .:sad2:

Dennis,

Take care of yourself!

And . . . thanks for the research! I KNEW there was another reason. See, this is just an evil plot to end up with demented men who don't know what they are doing! (or is that normal after being married a long time?)

Yup - that's just like some of the snow that was falling here. Really tough to move, and our snow plow guys had a heck of a time clearing the store parking lots today. They started at 4:00, and worked until dark.

My neighbor and I do the same thing. We clear each other's walks whenever one of us is out (we both have blowers).

Dennis,

(or is that normal after being married a long time?)

Well, he has been married a long time, but I don't think he can answer this since he has never been really quite "normal". ;) :lmao: Which is exactly why I married him, normal is really boring!

My neighbor and I do the same thing. We clear each other's walks whenever one of us is out (we both have blowers).

Ah, and here I felt so bad for you picturing you out there clearing all those driveways with a shovel! ;)

 You need a snowblower, John1.

I have one Angie! (A John Deere - all my outside stuff is Deere)

If I had to Shovel all of that, I might be a candidate for Marielle's DH!

Only a single stage though . . . good and bad. Not as powerful as a two stage, and I have to mix the oil and gas, BUT it is light enough that I can lift it into our wagon to take it to my MIL's house.

Did you see what's going on over on the WB thread??? They are starting with the MATH again! :sad2:

Yeah, I saw that Angie, and saw your response.

:lmao:

(((HUGS))) Dennis. Be good & stay in bed so you can get rid of that flu bug.

No school again today . . .

-4 this morning.

Out of the sno-cones, into the deep freeze!
