My biggest obstical would be getting to CA for me. I would love to drive cross country with the kids! Would have to rent a car though. Hmmmm, and how to get back from FL. Train I guess, but the Auto train is so much better than the regular train. I could take the train cross country.

Why couldn't it be THIS year?!?! My best friend is still out there and will be coming back in June. I could have taken the ship to CA, sent Sarah and Amanda back by plane (with DH if he went), then drove one of their cars back with them and Dina.

I wonder what time on Wed. they will make the announcement and will it be EDT or PDT.

Pj

Caroline, I thought you wanted alone time with DH! I was only helping, lol.

PJ

The only problem is the prices in May are alot more than the ones in April...;)

Maybe we will just take a land vacation somewhere not too far. How boring would THAT be? :lmao:

Where could you see the announcement being made? Is it just a press release thing?

I could still do a Jan/Feb 09 cruise with the August PC Repo...:scratchin

Then one the end of August. We are still talking about a 50th anniversary (my parents) family cruise.

Hmmmmm! If you need to book two rooms, again Caroline I would love to be your "partner" in the second room, lol. We can skip the girls 12/08/07 and do the August Repo instead.

They have finally added past April, in the date selection section, on the advance cruise search on dcl.com, woo hoo! No new cruise options yet.

Pj

Caroline, having someone the kids know onboard would sure help make the decision easier!!! Todd is planning on booking the August repo too.

I can't wait for the announcement. :) and to see the prices. We plan on going to DL for a day or so, I haven't been since I was 16. Is air usually cheaper in May or Aug or does it make a difference?

Angie - what is the difference in gas costs?
I want to buy a 28ft. camper (not a 5th wheel) to leave in the Berkshires - so we would rarely tow it. Used ones seem to be about $18,000 on Ebay. They are fun to look at. Do you have any advice about manuf.?

We are just learning too. I subscribed to Trailer Life magazine 2 years ago hoping to get educated, BUT.....it seems that all the long time major manufacturers are close some have one feature, some have others. :confused3 We still don't know. OY It is a big investment for us.

Gas...I don't think any of them get good gas mileage. We talked with an old time RVer a couple of years ago that put it in perspective though. He said he figures cost per day, not miles per gallon. He spends about $30 per day in his travels. Made sense to us. If you are just doing weekend trips then the miles per gallon would be more important I guess. $30 per day traveling is reasonable considering what you would pay for hotels and you can prepare your own food.

It is -8 here today. That is a big -8. it is up from -11 yesterday. We found a new puppy and I thought I would post some puppy pics...

What a cutie!!!

Angie, this is the one for you, http://www.cozycruiser.com/ (this is tongue in cheek, lol). If any couple could survive this camper it would be you and Dennis.

Pj

PJ, those are very cute. I watched a TV show about a whole club of people that camp in these. We could do that for weekend camping since we have been tent campers for years. Don't think it would work for months at a time though, even for us! :lmao:

We had snow here in Vegas on friday! And since then the temps have dropped into the 20s at night! I think things are backwards!

We have not even had our first inch of snow yet!!!! That is just amazing! Tomorrow is going to be the coldest day of the winter so far (of course it will be well below freezing on my first day back!!!)

Ok, I think I am going to skip even the digital scrapbook for this cruise and trip, but instead do a photo book with this site, http://www.viovio.com/index.php?structure_id=141. I could do digital scrap pages to add in, but right now I am doing a book in iPhoto, already have 20 pages and haven't hit the cruise yet, lol. I think it will be around 48 pages and cost around $30.00 for a 6" x 9" It just requires pages in PDF form, that I can do on the mac no problem, I know for under $75 you can get a PDF creator for windows.

This could be a cool place to do a group photobook as well, DENNIS!

Pj

:sad2: PJ, he is far, far behind! He just finished downloading our 1100+ photos last night. I want him to print of a hundred or so for Aaron for a little photo album I bought to send to him. Maybe he will get those selected and printed today. I will refer him to this site though and tell him you were asking about it. :lmao:
