I've been looking at the online ressie EVERYDAY-multiple times a day. We booked a cat 12 gty and got room 5006. I think that's a cat 8 whooo hoooo!!!! Hopefully the noise is ok since the WD Theater is right below us.

I was telling DH today that I couldn't live in cold places. It's in the 30s here today and it's killing me. I used to love the cold but well, I'm not as insulated as I was last year and the cold is really getting to me now. I want warmth!!

As if it isn't bad enough to be 5 1/2 days away from leaving here for WDW...now DS's teacher was told that she can't give DS 3rd grade homework anymore because he will be bored in 3rd grade. Well DUHHHHH!!!! That's what is wrong now!!! She sent him a stupid riddle question instead. I am going to tell her not to bother with that becaue it isn't going to help him at all. I will just continue to teach him multiplication on his own. GEEZER! Don't they think he will learn anything if they don't teach it to him??? I don't have time to take care of this now though so I have to let go of this until after Christmas.

Also, they are now saying that he can only be tested every two years for AG. ACK!!!! Give me a break!!! This kid is so bored with school and he is begging for a challenge!!!! I feel like I am beating my head against the wall!!!

Lisa, I know exactly what you are going through. Sarah was the first I had to go through this with, now Amanda. There is really nothing I can or could do before. with Sarah, I decided not to press the multiplication so much so she would have it to learn with everyone else. I did use problems with her so that she understood how it worked though. Just not the tables. KWIM? I am doing the same with Amanda now. Spelling and reading were always easy for Sarah also, especially since she was reading very well in Kindergarden. Amanda has progressed quite rapidly in that area now, faster than the school does.

Maybe it is because I have girls, but they were never bored. My problem, at least with Sarah, is that now, in 7th grade, she actaully has to think more and really doesn't know how. She is getting better at it. And she was in the AP class from 4th through 6th. They now start in third.

As long as you stress to him to be vigilant with checking his work, even if it was very easy to him, he should be fine. Make up interesting problems for him at home to keep him thinking. DH was very good at this.
