How do you guys keep your first night outfits from getting really wrinkled? I am going to send our other dinner stuff out to be pressed but there is not time that first night and I hate to have to iron. With the sailaway and early dinner seating three just is not really time.

Actually, my main concern the first night is just getting the suitcases in time to change.

Just a friendly PSA.....

Bigger isn't necessarily better. Now that the ailrines have been cracking down on the 50 Lb rule... When i use my largest suitcase, It's really tough keeping the weight under 50. I mean it fits so much....

This is why i think we might need 8 suitcases instead of 6....

I pulled out our giant oversized suitcase and I think that may work better for us. It will at least cut down on the # of bags we have to deal with. I will just have to hope that it will fit under the bed. It is actually big enough that all of our duffels and smaller cases will fit inside it.

That is the great thing about driving! You don't have to worry about how much each bag weighs. :thumbsup2

Had a successful trip to Target today; kids got some new clothes for the cruise ... Tink shirt on clearance for DD8, Mickey shirt from the juniors area for DD13, Mickey stuff from the Dollar Spot (it may be reduced before the cruise, but I grabbed some things I couldn't resist), black gauchos for DD8 to wear on pirate night..

Another stop at Barnes & Noble; some new books for DDs to read over Tgiving break (lots of car time!) and the cruise, too. Had my extra 10 percent off coupon. Maybe the DIS kids can trade off books if they finish all that they bring along!!

Amy - I did not get any response from either of the 2 Kindergarten teachers about my absence memo I sent in for the kids. I guess they were not too impressed when I said that we were visiting Mayan ruins - lol. I didn't say that 90% of the time we will be eating and swimming. LOL

I think you are right that sending in a note saying you will be gone is sufficient - they don't need to grant permission. DO most states have a mandatory number of days that you must attend - NY used to have this.

elaine

Most school systems do have this. Here the kids can only miss 15 days during the year before they have to be reviewed by a committee to determine if they will be passed on to the next grade or not.

You mean were not wearing our lime green T shirts to dinner the first night ? :confused3

pirate:

Ummm....no! We don't wear tshirts or jeans or shorts to dinner.

becka said:
Not us. I figured it wouldn't be dressy enough :confused3 I was planning on black slacks and a light sweater for me. Dockers and polo shirt for DH. Black pants and blouse for DD. Khaki pants and shirt for DS.

We are wearing our lime green shirts until after the sail away.

ok you guys who sent a virus to our house......

My tummy is not feeling well at all today.....

Adding this to the pain from my wrist issues i've been having and i think i'm dying...(or maybe just falling apart)

It hurts just to do the laundry but i can't let that stop. I need to get through it all before the cruise.

Maybe it's just stress.... (Maybe i shouldn't have stopped taking my happy pills)

I ok, finally caught up. The conference was ok, but a lot of talking and sitting.

On the way home, i thought I would just check out the DS and see what was on sale. Randy and Jane, the managers were on stage. We got to talking, Jane asked if I had been on any cruises lately? I said leaving in two weeks, lol.
They both asked if they could come, I said two empty beds in my room.
Randy said I should work with them.
I replied, not going there Randy. I have applied 6 times for part-time, full-time and seasonal, nothing!
Randy, handed me a application, said fill it out and we will do your paperwork tonight, for a per diem position, later evenings setting out stock and doing mark-down and such. The deal is, if they call you and you can't work three times, you are off the list, thats cool.

Then we got to talking as he signed me up as an employee, (woohoo) he asked my salary at the Computer store and if I would be interested in being a lead, that he would talk to HR and see if they could meet my current salary. I said I might be interested, but let's see how it goes first. We sat backstage and talked for about an hour. I go in for training on Thursday.

WHOO HOO PJ!!!!!

Lisa - I am gathering from that thread that cash and non cash gifts are pooled - it mentioned giving a non cash gift to a specific counselor - would that be a candy gift or something like that?

If you don't want it to be pooled it doesn't seem like there are too many simple options - I have no idea what to buy as a non cash gift that could be given to one person.

thanks for posting this - it was very helpful.

About the only thing that the CMs can keep is a picture your child draws. They are very strict about this.

Where would I buy a gift card to? someplace like Target - for them to party plan?

I know that they have a bus that runs the CMs to WM but IDK about Target.

Hmm that would make it easier to leave... I was just thinking that the school would be more stable economy wise but that's something to think of too.

The Dis store would be more fun though.... :cloud9:

The extra benefits would be great as well. :cool1:

They just reset the dollar spot a week or two ago. It wont go on clearance until Christmas or after.

yes we have been doing the big toy sweep for about 3 weeks now. It is hard to give it away. No one wants all that stuff. The dump doesn't take that hard plastic stuff for recycling either.

I'm glad we are out of the phase where there will be lots of little pieces. Just legos and hot wheels now. Beads, jewelry for Jaea - but I have been buying containers for everything.
The "anti santa" came and cleared out a bunch of toys this past week. We took all of the stuff to the outgrown shop. They bought pretty much all of it. I really didn't have too much stuff, some baby baby stuff and a few of Jake's things. I also had some of Eliza's clothing.

Our DGS got his Wii last night. He was 69th in line, but he works at the store. His boss let him off a little early so he could get in line. There were only 75 units for sale there. He said there were about 85 or 6 in line, but the last 10 or so came right as the store was opening for the sale. One guy started cussing at the Store Manager. I cannot believe jerks who show up at the last minute, then get PO'd because they can't get one. ANyway, his store manager is pretty intimidating, because he is so big. He told the guy he didn't appreciate the language and tat he would have to leave, so the guy left. ROTFLOL! The mgr was very nice about it.

DGS told me stories about friends who bought the PS3 who are very angry and dissatisfied with it. One of his friends bought it, with a game, but cannot play it until an update comes out in a couple of weeks, which he has to download. Also, need HDTV, and cannot take games to another unit to play, such as at a friends house. That must mean you can't rent a game to try it out first.??????? I don't know about all of that, but sounds like a raw deal.

I personally, wouldn't stand in line to buy anything. Especially something like that. What a bunch of  fans. (Well, maybe I wouold for a special cruise...LOL).

DS got up early to try and get a Wii . . . no dice. He was 10th in line at Sears and they only had TWO machines to sell? Best buy was a madhouse again . . . Jill, did you get a bunch of these too?

AAAARRRRRRGGGG! I am going to hurt Nathan!

I was in our bedroom packing and I heard DS go into his bathroom. Then I hear him peeing except I can hear that he is not aiming well and is peeing on the rim and it is running all down on the floor and on him and he just stands there like nothing is the matter! As if that was not bad enough I go in there and I see that he has once again peed in the bathtub!!! :furious: And you can guess who did it right? Yep - he said a bat did it! :furious: :furious: :furious:

The BAT strikes again!
