I had convinced myself that I would not have to buy much because after all we just went on the 4 night back in February! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: You all know how that is turning out! I will probably make at least 2 more Wal-Mart trips for cruise stuff before we leave. :sad2:

I had to go to WM yesterday for ariel birthday invites, which they did not have, and picked up a few things, went to check out and the lines were so long I put my basket down and left.

That being said, and John PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THIS! On thursday, all of the items WM has on sale for thier 6 a.m. super rush thing with the great prices will be available online. I am not sure of the times available online, but the circular will come out today with all info. Just trying to save you all a few bucks and help you sleep in on FRIDAY. I heard this on a financial show on the radio of all places!

Hey Becka,

Haven't you lost enough weight you need to buy all new clothes? from your descriptions (and remember in my previous life I worked for Nutri/Systems) and wieght loss, you may need new clothes. If you need a good indicator, ask your hubby if you need more fitted clothes. I hope you do!

I have only lost about 15 pounds so while the clothes I just bought were a size lower unfortunately the rest of my clothes are not that big on me. They were a little tight to start with.... :sad2:

I liked Hospital Pharmacy a lot more, but the schedules were crazy. No Disney Cruises if I did that. At least none at the time we like to go. I worked in Hospital Pharacy for 17 years. ICU, Oncolgy, Ortho, Trauma Center, etc. Inpatient Pharmacy and Cinical stuff. I miss it. Pediatrics got to me too much. I was also a Adjunct Professor for UOP for a year. I loved that. I had to stop when we moved to Orygun! Before Pharmacy I worked at Hughes Aircraft COmpany in the field of computer graphics. A pioneer of sorts. We had 128K memory in our Honeywell COmputer, and it was the largest in the company. We still punched cards when I started. LOL. We did circuit board and MOS CMOS etc, design. Angie worked down the hall, which was nice. I was in Pharmacy School then, and didn't see her much otherwise. I was also the P.M. and graveyard shifts supervisor. We worked on the boards and chips for the SubACS, AWACS, TOW, etc. systems, and when I left I was working on the Chips for the Multiple Warheads guidance systems. (SECRET). shhhhhh. Work and Pharmacy school full time. When I wanted to do the joint PharmD /PhD in Pharmacology program, the professor said no. I had enough of a workload he said. LOL. I must have been crazy.Argh! Angie has started slaving without me. I better go. It is miserable cloudy and rainy outside. This must be Oregon. Loading the dumpster is going to be such fun.

bye for now.....:sunny:

Dr. Hug,

My sweet cousin is Trauma Pediatrician at UCLA Medical Center. She is so sweet I worry about her all the time with those beautiful children who are so sick. She is the ideal Dr. for them because she is so kind and calm, but I worry that after 17 years she will have a hard time too.

So sorry V! I just did the same sort of thing. I guess I hadn't looked at my e-mail in a couple of days and thought the High School Musical tickets were going on sale today!! Nope, it was Firday and they are sold out. :guilty:

Was the concert heavily advertised in your area? I just checked and there are still some really good seats available here, I'm wondering why it's doing so well selling out everywhere else.

Lisa,

I hate things between my toes too! You go girl!

My parents took DD this weekend because they said we looked like the walking dead. Really nice of them, but I am starting to get a complex.

Maybe it is that I am now on day 18 of 28 days of antibotics....

Anyway, we saw stranger than fiction last night. Great movie! Loved it!!!

I cannot wait to be warm again! If it is cold on this cruise, I may need sedation. How much is the doc on the ship?

Kim

It was cold Saturday on deck 9 our 2nd cruise. I started to freak out a bit. We all had on jeans & our navy Disney Ts. When our luggage finally arrived I got the jean jackets out. The kids tried to get in the pool but they were shivering from the wind whipping around on the surface. DD couldn't take it at all & DS didn't last long. We were suppose to have a DIS meet at the MP but we chose to stay indoors and warm up. I think that is when we headed over to John's stateroom & the kids played hide & seek. LOL! I was really worried that I hadn't brought enough cold clothing. The next morning we went outside & it was warm & balmy. :goodvibes

Lisa - We are bringing a few warmer items for our first evening/last evening in case they are needed. It was a tad been chilly on our February cruise as well that first night.

We will give Aaron ginger ale. We have a bottle of ginger that we can mix with 7-up. I plan on shipping this down with our wine. It only takes a bit of it to make a glass so if anyone has little ones that need some just let us know. It is very tasty too! 7-up from the drink station.

Do you mean the ginger from the spice departments? I've bought ginger capsules, those are safe for kids, right?

DH update - he's in less pain today... still can't move his thumb from side to side... says it feels like he needs to pop it. I thought it might be disclocated but he said he wouldn't be able to move it at all then... I don't know. he needs to follow up with our family doc next week but with the TG holiday, I don't know if we'll be able to get over to the office...

That's good. I hope that he gets to the doctor some time this week.

How much candy should I bring for the kids club staff?

LOL! I wonder what they think with everyone bringing them candy now. :) I have 10-12 bags in the other room. Those will be split up between the club & the lab. We will take them in by Tuesday so that they can have a mid week treat.

No problem. I think MrsMork already covered it before I even logged on. :)

ANyway, First you have to keep your stomach full. Not overly stuffed, but just make sure you snack often. This may sound crazy, but I learned this from some sea-wise Merchant Marines who gave me the tip when we boarded the troop ship; my first cruise. It worked. The Stevedores even tossed us some boxes of cookies and crackers to cache away for that purpose. We were lucky to be the first unit aboard, and they were still oading the hold.

Anyway, then Meclizine for adults and kids over 12. This is free on the ship. I don't know if they have anything for thr younger kids. The Dramamine that you buy at the store comes in two forms. Dimenhydrinate, which is okay for kids but makes them very sleepy, and Meclizine, which is more expensive if you buy it that way. Kids should only take meclizine (Brand-Bonine), if their physician okays it. It can cause seizures in susceptible children. Read the warnings, ALWAYS. If they have a severe motion sickness problem, get a prescription, for emergency use, such as Tigan, Compazine, Vistaril, or Phenergan, (Those are all brand names for typing purposes, LOL. Get the generic). One of the best things to use, and it works better than the drugs, sometimes, is Ginger. GingerAle, such as Hansten's, is natural and works best. It also helps in fluid replacement. Also, for adults, one 25mg Meclizine every morning will usually do the trick. If you have a real problem it could take up to 4 a day. Avoid alcohol if yo take more than one every a.m., because it can intensify the effects, as can all of these drugs, and that could be very bad.
I only recommend using 'drugs' as a last resort, or if necessary, but I won't start on that soapbox. :goodvibes

Scuse any typos. LOL. I am not a typist at all. Don't get a chance to do Rx entry on the computer anymore. We leave that up to the Techs.:cool1:

Is it true that Benedryl can also help with nausea? I've read that it is sometimes recommended. Thought this might be a good option if my kids don't feel so well. But of course, that will make them drowsy.

why do people bring candy for the kids club staff?

for the staff or for them to distribute to kids?

sorry , first time sailor here.

That is just something that a club CM told the boards that they appreciate. They are not allowed to accept tips and anything that is given to them has to be pooled between everyone. GCs are saved up to buy items for staff parties. Here is a thread with alot of info about the clubs from a CM there.

OMG, I pulled a major V yesterday.
The game was at 3:30, my mom did not get here until 11:30 so we were hauling can all the way up there. When we got into ROCK 104 country we flipped the radio station to find Mic Hubert calling the game.......the game actually started at NOON! OMG! We got there, parked and went in for the last few plays......:(
WTH, since we were there we went to CJ's for some oysters and beer and watched a little bit of the OSU game before heading home. What a waste of gas.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Sorry to hear that.

I have the whole cartoon, and will post it on my .mac account folder, where everyone can download it, if they want it in one shot. It is very funny and it is about the Disney cruise specifically.

Thanks PJ! :) I am thinking that they will be cute for the scrapbook.

I can't remember how big of a suitcase will fit under the bed....

Hi guys....I've apparently have been "nesting" all day.... Cleaned our master bath..(toilet, sinks, changed lightbulbs)..Then more work in our bedroom... We had three laundry baskets (yes 3) full of assorted socks with no homes or mates.... Well about an hour or so later...I had at least sorted the whites from the darks and found mates for many of them... DH and i put up a new shelving unit in our room to hold more stuff so that maybe one day i can see the top of my dresser. I tracked down all of the suitcases last night and have them sitting on three of the shelves.

We have those rolling type suitcases in 29",26",& 20". They all stack inside one another and i know they fit under the DCL bed. (ok, fit under once you pick up the edge of the bed and get them under the edge of the frame.)

I also have a nice rolling garment bag. I always bring this into the terminal with me as carryon..... I have this nightmare of them loosing my stuff and since DCL doesn't exactly sell larger sizes...I'd be in my boarding clothes all week. Ewww. Don't laugh. One trip our garment bag didn't get to us until right before dinner on the first night. Ever since then......

When will you tell him about bananaman???

one of the girls in my group was complaining cause I talk to you guys more than them these days! :rotfl2:

aren't you parasailing with us on CC??

ROFLMAO!!!! Don't they know that this group is more fun?

I ok, finally caught up. The conference was ok, but a lot of talking and sitting.

On the way home, i thought I would just check out the DS and see what was on sale. Randy and Jane, the managers were on stage. We got to talking, Jane asked if I had been on any cruises lately? I said leaving in two weeks, lol.
They both asked if they could come, I said two empty beds in my room.
Randy said I should work with them.
I replied, not going there Randy. I have applied 6 times for part-time, full-time and seasonal, nothing!
Randy, handed me a application, said fill it out and we will do your paperwork tonight, for a per diem position, later evenings setting out stock and doing mark-down and such. The deal is, if they call you and you can't work three times, you are off the list, thats cool.

Then we got to talking as he signed me up as an employee, (woohoo) he asked my salary at the Computer store and if I would be interested in being a lead, that he would talk to HR and see if they could meet my current salary. I said I might be interested, but let's see how it goes first. We sat backstage and talked for about an hour. I go in for training on Thursday.

I'm not DrHug, but I know what he tells me to take. :teeth: I take meclizine each morning. It lasts 24 hours and by taking it when I first get up it cuts down on the drowziness (which it is not supposed to cause - BUT...).

This is what I do. I take it a couple days before the cruise to make sure that it is in my system...and so that I can ride the tea cups with the kids without getting sick. I take it 3 days after to avoid the sway.
