That is just something that a club CM told the boards that they appreciate. They are not allowed to accept tips and anything that is given to them has to be pooled between everyone. GCs are saved up to buy items for staff parties. Here is a thread with alot of info about the clubs from a CM there.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=751585&highlight=misconceptions

Lisa - I am gathering from that thread that cash and non cash gifts are pooled - it mentioned giving a non cash gift to a specific counselor - would that be a candy gift or something like that?

If you don't want it to be pooled it doesn't seem like there are too many simple options - I have no idea what to buy as a non cash gift that could be given to one person.

thanks for posting this - it was very helpful.

DH wants to know about pin trading on this cruise. I PM'd Brack because I know he is a pin trader but what about the rest of you? DH is trying to decide which pins to bring on the cruise with him because I won't let him pack his BIG book - gotta save space somehow! ;)

The kids trade but only with the CMs in the shops & at GSs. Some of these have the lanyards and only trade with kids. They have the pin cart set up in the atrium each night & I imagine that the pin collectors go there.

OMG, I pulled a major V yesterday.
The game was at 3:30, my mom did not get here until 11:30 so we were hauling can all the way up there. When we got into ROCK 104 country we flipped the radio station to find Mic Hubert calling the game.......the game actually started at NOON! OMG! We got there, parked and went in for the last few plays......:(
WTH, since we were there we went to CJ's for some oysters and beer and watched a little bit of the OSU game before heading home. What a waste of gas.

Bummer V . . .

At least you got to see some of the OSU game!

Woohoo Congrats PJ.... Are you really thinking of leaving the bookstore?

Let me see, I would be semi-working for disney. The store is 10 minutes from home. I would not need to travel on the subway every day. And they would meet my same salary. maybe.

Amy - I did not get any response from either of the 2 Kindergarten teachers about my absence memo I sent in for the kids. I guess they were not too impressed when I said that we were visiting Mayan ruins - lol. I didn't say that 90% of the time we will be eating and swimming. LOL

I think you are right that sending in a note saying you will be gone is sufficient - they don't need to grant permission. DO most states have a mandatory number of days that you must attend - NY used to have this.

elaine

I have never heard of mandatory number of days here or if we have it our kids have never come close enough for us to be warned.

Friday I went in to inform the principal that Sophia would be gone, usually we just tell the teacher but, Sophia had been given a small part in the Christmas program so I thought I should tell the principal. Her response, "Have a great time and enjoy. I will let the teachers all know."

I'm not caught up yet but thought that I would fill you in on our day here. After Church DD kept begging DH to put the tree up. He took it out around 3. It gave him a bit of trouble so even though I swore it off, I ended up helping to get it set up then spread out the branches so that they could decorate it. I am staying away from that....without the meds I would be going . I am very picky about my tree. Before the kids it was gold, burgundy, and crystal. There were balls on all of the greens around the house too so it all matched. I even have pillows and curtains in Christmas fabric. The glass balls aren't spaced out so forget about spacing with each color. The kids are both very happy about it though so I will try very hard to leave it alone. I did draw the line with the fragile ornaments for the family. I will put them at the top some time this week.

Hi John1!
I didn't get to see the "battle for last place" so I have only read the news reports. (Philly-Tenn on CBS here) If I were in your shoes I would not be happy, so I guess you have nothing to report.

Health status here....

Me....allergies still bugging me and I have to clear my throat often.

DD....still coughing like crazy. Still acting fine but already said that she wanted to get ready for bed.

DS....started coughing tonight.

DH....didn't eat dinner & has been hunting thru the medicine cabinet. I think he had what I did Thursday/Friday. :(

I have heard that too. My doctor has told me the kids can't take any medicine for seasickness so I hope they don't get sick. I did find some natural oil stuff at Wal-Mart that you are supposed to put a drop behind the ear for help with seasickness and if the kids get sick I will probably give it a try.

Has anyone else with little kids ever been given anything? :confused3

I don't think kids are prone to this as much as adults. Even with the 20+ foot swells on our first cruise neither one of them got sick and they have never taken anything.

For some reason I thought the boys each had a white dress shirt and black dress shoes (they wear brown for church). Well - good thing I had them try them on! Yikes...they grew!!!

I had DD try on her dressy dresses today. There were a couple that are too short. We are down to 4 for the cruise. She wants to wear her blue Cindy dress in my sig again & it still fits!!! :) I have pulled out some outfits for her to wear too. I'll count them out in a couple days & make the final selection. I have pulled dresses out of my closet too. I will have to try them on tomorrow to make sure they still fit. I had better get DS to try his suit on tonight before he goes to bed. He was 52 inches last week so he may have outgrown it...or I will need to let out the legs if I took it up last year (can't remember).

DH left for his game, DS is watching Cars and DD is fighting her nap. :sad2:

Before he left I managed to gather some more stuff together. I am at the point now where I don't know quite how to organize it all. I am also starting to wonder if fewer bigger suitcases would be easier than more smaller ones. :confused3 I can't remember how big of a suitcase will fit under the bed....

Becka, we have a couple of the really big ones & they fit under the bed. You just need to lift up the frame and slide it under. :thumbsup2

Hmm that would make it easier to leave... I was just thinking that the school would be more stable economy wise but that's something to think of too.

The Dis store would be more fun though.... :cloud9:

AAAARRRRRRGGGG! I am going to hurt Nathan!

I was in our bedroom packing and I heard DS go into his bathroom. Then I hear him peeing except I can hear that he is not aiming well and is peeing on the rim and it is running all down on the floor and on him and he just stands there like nothing is the matter! As if that was not bad enough I go in there and I see that he has once again peed in the bathtub!!! :furious: And you can guess who did it right? Yep - he said a bat did it! :furious: :furious: :furious:

So that's our problem here!!!! We have bathroom bats too. :furious:
