We bought the little more portable one first. It was the only one we had for several trips.

Amy bought me the XT for my birthday, and it made me VERY happy!

You will be fine with one - just make sure you get ONE!

BTW - anyone thinking what shutters will look like with all those embarkation photos in lime green matching shirts? I had that image in my mind today, and started laughing. Do you think they will put them all in the same section?

DH bought the XT, or maybe the XTi, I really don't know which... but he also bought 2 stabalizer lenses and some special battery pack things and so many other things for the camera that the camera bag now weighs a LOT! I'm not looking forward to seeing him lug that thing around everywhere.

We got DrHug a backpack camera bag. I think it will be much easier for one of us to lug around than his "big bag" was.

Amazon has the XT for $650 and the XTi for $815.

Isn't it hard to lug around with the lens?

Decisions decisions...

I have the Rebel XT with the standard lens and an extra zoom lens. I bought LowePro mini backpack that will come with us to the park. My Canon A510 was bequeathed to DH when I got the Rebel and we usually take both with us to the parks. The last trip, there were actually shots of me because he was taking pics of me Usually I'm never in there because I'm taking the picture, hehe.

I avoid the Strip on New Year's Eve like the plague!!! I've lived here for 15 years and have never been there on NYE. Too crazy for me.

DH wants to do NYE in Las Vegas when he's 40... i want to do Times Square.... (but I turn 40 2 years before him)

Up until last year, we were lugging a big diaper bag/backpack to the parks all the time, so a small camera bag is MUCH better than before I love having kids out of diapers!

DH update - he's in less pain today... still can't move his thumb from side to side... says it feels like he needs to pop it. I thought it might be disclocated but he said he wouldn't be able to move it at all then... I don't know. he needs to follow up with our family doc next week but with the TG holiday, I don't know if we'll be able to get over to the office...

Doggie update - he's hanging in there. I just bought these neoprene type of booties that are rubberized on the bottom so he has a little more traction when he stands up. He's now taken to yip'ing when he wants help to stand up. DH is convinced he only does this when he knows we're around... because he seems to get around just fine when we're not around lol.

Packing update: well, I have managed to make 3 trips to Target in the last week, each of them nearly $200, and I still don't feel like I've made a dent

I have decided that we'll just have to brave the laundry hordes and try to get a load done because I cannot pack 7 days' worth of clothes after being spoiled by DVC villa laundry all these years.

Anyone have a Leapster LMax? thinking of getting one for DD for the plane ride. She has a Gameboy somewhere but it's been misplaced and she really can't play those games yet anyway... but she really likes DS's Leapster so I thought I'd get her a pink Lmax with some new games... plus it can plug into the tv in the room too.
