Don't know if it's german ...but my DGM has an awesome apple cake recipe...

We use red delicious apples... I don't know recipe off the top of my head but there's flour, sugar, egg, vanilla, orange juice, probably baking powder or soda & apples

Oh yum! Do share the recipe!

No problem with my Macbook. The keyboard is actually very comfortable, and the trackpad is great. You can even use two fingers to scroll which is real nice.

Would this be the dining manager doing this Lisa? In the gratuities section, they are listed as your discretion, but I never knew there was one or at least who they were. KWIM?

No, Caroline. The DCL dining coordinator isn't on the ship. She does the seating assignments for each cruise. That is why I suggested having a card made that we can all sign on the ship & send it to her with our group picture. :)

We piled all the PS toys into a box and sent them to Grandmas. I told DD she could visit them when she went over there. You see, Santa is on the way and Birthday is on the way, and we will need room at home for new toys.

I did let her choose which ones went. One for GM and two for home.

Good thing Grandma just moved into a new house with a big empty playroom! Lucky me!

My current plan is to pack everything away for the twins Skylar & Spence. If a toy has been outgrown the kids like to give it to them for later...much later. ;)

On Pop-Tarts:
Frosted brown sugar cinnamon... yum.
Any chocolatey kind... next in line.
Frosted fruity...OK.
Unfrosted fruity... no point wasting the calories.

Pop Tarts at our house:
Frosted strawberry/blueberry.....gone before we get 'em in the house.
Chocolatey ones.....so-so.
Unfrosted fruity......not worth it.
Frosted brown sugar cinnamon.....haven't had them yet.

My favorite instant oatmeal is that brown sugar/cinnamon/walnuts one. :cloud9:

I just received an email about High School Musical Roadshow. Can we say parents get out your wallets....

"High School Musical: The Concert," a North American arena concert tour starring the multi-talented cast of the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie and pop culture phenomenon High School Musical, will begin November 29 in San Diego, California, launching a 40-city concert tour with a stop in Manchester, NH at the Verizon Wireless Arena on December 30.

Performing the hit songs from High School Musical's triple-platinum-selling soundtrack (which also is the #1 best-selling album of 2006 to date) are the multi-talented young stars (in alphabetical order): Corbin Bleu ("Chad"), Monique Coleman ("Taylor"), Lucas Grabeel ("Ryan"), Vanessa Hudgens ("Gabriella") and Ashley Tisdale ("Sharpay"). They will be joined by the Emmy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Drew Seeley, who co-wrote the hit "Get'cha Head in the Game" and contributed male vocals to the High School Musical and The Cheetah Girls 2 soundtracks. Zac Efron ("Troy") currently is filming the musical motion picture Hairspray and is unable to join the concert tour.

In addition to performing songs from High School Musical, the stars also will have breakout moments during each concert. Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale will perform material from their current and/or forthcoming solo albums.

Emmy Award-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega is serving as creative director for "High School Musical: The Concert" and has assembled a world-class production team for the concert tour.

The High School Musical soundtrack currently is the #1 album of the year and was the first-ever TV movie soundtrack to make it to #1 on Billboard's Top 200, where it spent two weeks in the top position. Among Walt Disney Records' other extensions of Disney Channel hits are the chart-busting soundtrack to The Cheetah Girls 2 and its wildly popular 74-city concert tour, and the soundtrack to the year's #1 series on basic cable among tweens, Hannah Montana, which became the first TV soundtrack ever to debut at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 this week. Walt Disney Records' sister label, Hollywood Records, recently released Vanessa Hudgens' solo debut album and will release Corbin Bleu's solo album early next year.

High School Musical has reached 58.7 million total viewers (unduplicated) worldwide and is projected to reach approximately 100 million by the end of the calendar year.

Police: Parent Attacked Opposing Team

A parent verbally and physically attacked opposing team members at a football championship game for 10-and 11-year-olds, according to police.

Police in Lower Paxton Township arrested Marianne Jackson after she allegedly kicked, pushed and swore at players and coaching staff of the opposing team at Landis Field Sunday afternoon.

According to witnesses, Jackson became mad when her son was injured as the result of a tackle.

The woman's son suffered a concussion as a result of the hit.

An off-duty police officer at the game attempted to defuse the situation by escorting Jackson off the field.

But according to police, Jackson shoved and kicked the officer as well as others in attendance as she left the field.

That is just incredible. I am glad that we haven't reached that point with the kids yet. I would hate to have them witness something like that. :( If that happened to DS I would be out on the field holding his hand...not ignoring him while attacking a kid and a police officer. :sad2: Football isn't exactly a wimpy sport. If you allow your child to play, then you accept the possibility that they are going to be hurt....which is why DS doesn't play football. ;)

O.K. -- everyone else bored with my incessant laptop woes.....feel free to skip this post.

Anyone else, here's the update. BB has finally (FINALLY) resolved my computer issue with a store credit (like a gift card). I can order online or buy something in the store. They do have a Mac listed online.

I was hesitant to consider a Mac because I had one years ago that had problems :badpc: and finding software (then) was a pain. Also, DH is more an IBM-compatible kind of guy.

So, as I said in the pm to John.....Mac lovers.....convince me. ;) (Preferably break the convincing posts into many smaller ones to up our posting count at the same time!)

I'm :lmao: just at the thought of seeing my DH in a pair of Disney Crocs! :lmao:

I can barely get him to wear sandals (he has hates-his-toes-issues).

Agreed! Unfortunately everyone experienced that craziness when one dad killed another dad who was the ref at hockey game about 6 yrs ago. I remember being shocked. Unfortunately I've seen more parents yelling vs. less. I think I am more aware of it now.

Yes, I do Target.

Target is not the 800 pound Gorilla that WM is.

John1

It would if it could.

WM wasn't always a giant. It started out in a very small store in Bentonville, Arkansas. I've seen the store and I am sure that when Sam Walton started out he didn't expect to own a company as big as WM has become.

Let something happen to WM and I'll bet that Target will step right in to feel the void.
