12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Its fun to have the website that Shari did!

Deb - No worries on introductions. Once we knew it was you - we knew who John was. WDW CAN be overwhelming as it really is several parks, and those parks cover a lot of territory. Trying to fit it all in during a vacation is exhausting, especially after a long trip to get there.

When you get rested, tell us a bit about it.

Smiles,
Holly

It was exhausting. We had decided there that we would not do it again next year. However, it got better. THe girls got less scared & we have decided to do it again afterall. It seems appropriate while they still believe in magic & talking mice, etc. I think next time would go better as we have a better idea of what we are getting into. LOL. I had been to MK before, but it was over 30 years ago. . .things did get bigger since then. :)

I was going to attach a pic of the girls with Chip & Dale, but could not figure it out! One of my DDs asked Chip & Dale if they were twins too. They both nodded and pretended to laugh. It was sweet.

Deb - Did you watch the Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas stage show at MK during MVMCP? ALL of the main characters' mouths move as they speak or sing, and Chip 'n' Dale are hilarious in it. I enjoy them in that show more than anywhere, because I can never stop laughing at them when they dance.

The DIS has a Community Photo gallery, but here on the regular message board I don't think attachments are allowed. I think you need to have the photo located on a webserver then click the little "mountain" picture icon when making a post, and provide a link to the photo. That's what I do when I post any pics. I don't think there is any way to upload a photo on this board. Maybe someone else here can help with more info.

As for still believing in magic and talking mice (and other characters!), if they have great experiences, they will ALWAYS believe . . . I STILL DO! :goodvibes

No, I'm sorry to say I missed the show (Twas the Night before Christmas). I'll have to make sure we catch it next year.

We spent the whole evening on rides. It wasn't my intentions to do that - it kind of worked out that way. We did go over to Ariel's Grotto, where the Tremains were having a dance party. My DDs love Anastacia, so found that a lot of fun. It was neat how uncrowded it was. My DD Mickie fell in love with Goofy's Barnstormer - and we road it 4 times in a row. Didn't have to get off as there was no line. Did the same with the Carousel as well.

We don't get snow often down here, so the "snow" down Main Street excited my children as well.

It's good to know that the believing in magic can last past the single digits.

Deb - I found two online videos on YouTube of Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas stage show. The first is by the DIS and is located HERE. It's obviously filmed with a tripod. Sit through the brief blank spot. Unfortunately this one doesn't show too much of the chipmunks but is otherwise very good.

The other is HERE. Although it was obviously hand-held and the sound is not too good, there is some excellent close-up filming and it shows a lot that the DIS one doesn't, including the hippos and reindeer and at least a little bit of Chip 'n' Dale during "Jingle Bells" (the last song) where you get a hint of what they are like in this show. It's been the same show for several years and I LOVE it!

Thank you for sharing those. John and I were debating going during the Christmas party again or trying the halloween one next time. After seeing those - I'd like to try the Christmas one again. :) That show looks very enjoyable. I'm sorry we missed it. My DDs were so into the rides we just stuck to them this time, that and the Tremaines Dance Party. I'll have to try to snag John on a date and get it locked in soon. :)

I posted the adventures of our stuffed Chip and Dale on the website with pictures from our October Cruise.
Please take a look: http://www.eldertvacations.com/Chip.htm
and let me know what you think!
Totally AWESOME! :thumbsup2

Would you give me permission to put a link to it from our Cruisin' Nuts website? Maybe I could make a special link from the FUN page so everyone can see how much fun those 'munks can be!

Sure, have fun! I half wrote it for my daughter and 1/2 wrote it for the upcoming cruise!

Thanks! Too COOL! It's linked from the FUN page now. :cool1:

Hey folks - Don't forget to check out the FUN page of our Cruisin' Nuts website for a couple of recent additions: Tanya's aforementioned magnificent "Adventures of Chip . . . and Dale" plus a DCL press release I added that details what they do aboard ship and on Castaway Cay during the holiday season. At the top of that page I put my personal Chip 'n' Dale Christmas greeting for now so everyone can see the little 'munks in the convertible car they "confiscated" from Pal Mickey!

Anyone who hasn't checked out the NEWS page in the last week or two, you'll find the cruise graphics for the t-shirt logos as well as name cards or badges. I still have not got around to doing the "beach 'munks" one as that takes time I haven't been able to find of late, but I promise I WILL get to it. ::yes::

I hope everyone is doing well and not too stressed over the approaching holidays. :santa:

Hi all!

Sorry I've not posted lately - but between being sick with a cold/sinus thing (better now) and working in retail ...that also has grocery...it's been nuts for me. This week will continue being insane because of Thanksgiving. Then of course there is "Black Friday". I have to go to work at 3:30 AM! :scared1:

I also snuck in two showings of the new movie Twilight - LOVED it. popcorn::

Deb & John. WDW can seem so overwhelming. The second trip will be better as you know more of what's there and what's involved. The girls will love it - and I agree - the magic can and does last well beyond single digits for many! Christmas time is even more magical at WDW. :santa:

Tanya - I LOVED The Adventures of Chip 'N Dale! (bet they're thrilled that they are going on another cruise....) :woohoo:

Smiles,
Holly

Thanks Holly. We are going to plan on going again in November/December 2009. :) I hope to not feel so overwhelmed this time, since we will know this time just how big it all is. And maybe our DDs will get a tad braver between now and then. This time I was amazed at how much scared them. But it was their first time too - perhaps next time will be less overwhelming for them too.

Yeah - I have some cruisin' nuts now too! :cheer2: :cheer2:
COOL! You could make it link to the site if you want. You probably know how to do that, but if not I can send you the code. :cool1:

Also, I know everyone has their own favorite avatar, but if anyone wants one like Holly and I have, with the sailor 'munks and their name or user name, PM me and I'll make one for you. Just specify the name you want on it. FYI - The shorter the name the better, as the avatar has to be small. ;)

I'm on my laptop - Can't use my desktop until tomorrow afternoon. We've had lengthy power outages due to work the electric company is doing. I bought a new Backup UPS and the battery is supposed to charge 16 hours before use, so I'm a bit hindered at the moment but could probably get to any avatar requests by tomorrow afternoon. :surfweb:

I don't know how to do a link. I wasn't even sure how to put the pic on there. That took me a few tries. I'm not the computer-friendliest person around.

Deb - For you and anyone else on this cruise who wants to promote us Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts - - Copy and paste the following line of code into your signature. That will provide the Cruisin' Nuts graphic that links to the website.
