12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Hey everyone - Gas at the WDW Hess station as you exit MK was only $2.19 today!

Holly - If you can order me one also, I'll mail you another check! Let me know. :goodvibes

I'll do that today! I wasn't around much yesterday - was a loooong day at work and then I got caught up in the election returns.

Hope you had a great time at WDW!

Smiles,

Holly

Gas here this morning was $1.97! I couldnt believe it. :)

I went through all our pics finally from our cruise in Sept, ironically the best shots all have Chip/Dale in them.

Wow - I hope gas keeps going down here as well.

As for the 'munks being in all your best pics, I'd call that WONDERFUL! Must be an omen. ;)

Sailor beanie Chip is ready for Pirate Night!

. . . and he's ready for some beach fun also!

Looks like Sailor Chip is more than ready for our cruise!
Yes - He concluded that if he "borrows" attire from Pal Mickey, he won't have to budget for vacation clothing. Mickey, however, is not happy, particularly snce he won't be going on this one.

Sailor Chip has been rubbing it in that while the rest of us will age another two years before this cruise, he won't. I reminded him that if he doesn't behave, I won't clean him between now and then and everyone will say he's old and dirty. That did the trick. :lmao:

So how is everyone? Where is everyone? I know it's tough to keep a thread going two years out and when not many have booked yet, but we'll keep trying! :surfweb:

GREAT....now MY Sailor Chip is right here laughing at me that I'll be two years older....

I've been busy - the masses are back where I work. (I work for a major retail store) Since I live in Central Florida we get the "snowbirds" and many of them are back. In droves...

I'm hoping for a park visit next Tuesday - depending upon weather. Right now the weather is calling for a decent day. But believe it or not there is a possible hurricane named Paloma! :scared1: Of course right now the projected path is nowhere near Florida. :worship:

Smiles,
Holly

Holly - Just tell your Sailor Chip that if you leave him on the shelf and don't clean him for 2 years, people will NOT view him as an adorable, handsome chipmunk. His future is in YOUR hands so he'd best start behaving! :squirrel:

Next Tuesday is Veteran's Day. That may mean crowds at WDW! :scared1:

The lanyards are adorable. I'm planning to wait a big longer before starting to buy, etc. for the cruise. Just in case.

I paid $1.85 for gas this morning! That is not a typo. $1.85. The price was $1.95 but with my grocery card I got 10 cents a gallon off. I was tickled.

We head to WDW tomorrow! Driving, so the drop in gas prices is wonderful. I really hope the crowds on Tuesday aren't too bad. The Disney calendar showed this week as not busy when we planned it. . and we felt lucky as our DDs birthday is that week. They will turn 5 on Thursday - the 13th, while we are at WDW.

I went to the disney store and bought disney dollars. They were out of everything but $1s and $5s. LOL, so I have a big wad of money. I gave each of my DDs a $1 this morning and told them they could earn more during the drive by behaving. They seemed pretty happy. Have never been to WDW they were already imaging all the toys they hope to find down there (based on the local disney store).

Hmm, can you tell I'm super excited?!

Ha ha - yes you DO sound super excited!

I paid $2.15 for gas - but that is 40-45 miles from Disney. I CAN tell you to stay away from the stations on 192 - as they are always at least 30 cents higher. (a tourist trap) If you can find the Hess stations at Downtown Disney (pretty much right after the exit from the T&TC parking lot) and the one on Buena Vista - you'll find "normal" prices. Shari said she got it for $2.19 and it'll probably have gone down a little since she was there.

I am going to try and go to the parks on Tuesday the 11th. Shari may try to come too - all depends on weather and stuff.

Have a TON of fun in the parks - and maybe we'll run into you!

Smiles,

Holly

thank you for the tip. We'll try to be sure to fill up before we get too close to Disney. :) I'll print off her post to make sure I remember the 192, etc.

Well if you see a frantically lost looking woman hauling twins around - that just could be me. LOL. I looked and the 11th we are suppose to be at Epcot. I didn't buy hoppers, and that is where our ADRs are. Our TA suggested a late starting day there to recover from MVMCP the night before.

My DD Maddie started packing over a week ago. She said it was to hide clothes from Mickie as she didn't want them to get dirty. She has visions of pink teacups dancing in her head. :)

Deb - In addition to the Hess station at Downtown Disney, there is one VERY convenient after exiting the Magic Kingdom parking lot (Stay to the far right), and another one over by Hollywood Studios. They (all on WDW property) are probably the least expensive gas you'll find in the area, although if you are using the Disney transportation system for the parks then you'd want to get it at DTD. Living near Daytona Beach, I always try to wait until I'm at WDW to buy gas! They DO tend to sometimes raise their prices a little on weekends and holidays though.

As Holly said, I might get back down there again Tuesday depending on the weather. If I do, I'll quite likely be at Epcot at least part of the time because I was at AK and MK this week and last. I know we'd both love to run into you and the twins. :)

Have a magical (and happy and safe) trip!

Shari

thank you both for the gas tips. Every bit helps!

Would be very nice to meet future cruise mates!

Did I mention how excited I am? My DH and DDS have never been to WDW. I went, but the last time was in 1977 - there was only Mk back then. So it will be a whole new experience for me.

Oh you are going to LOVE it then! There is just so much more to see with DAK, Epcot, and DHS (was MGM)

I THINK the Food & Wine Festival is still going on. Just looked - it's there until November 9th!

Smiles,

Holly

I just wanted to introduce myself to this forming group. My DH and DD (5) and I just went on the Western cruise from 10/18 - 25 and booked this trip for 2010 while we were on board.

We had a wonderful time on the trip and can't wait for the next. I think it is so cute the this Dis theme is Chip and Dale. While we were on the cruise we told my DD she could have one thing from the store. On the last day she chose a Chip before dinner. We took Chip to dinner with us, then dropped her off in the kids area for a few hours. My DH and I were suppose to 'babysit' Chip...so we took him around the entire ship taking pictures of him on the signs, sipping sodas, with the HSM 3 standees, etc. The last stop was a trip to the store to buy Dale. We then took him to the room and took a picture of Chip in her bed, then laid Dale down and took a group photo of the two. Then we hid Dale. After picking Sianna up from the club we showed her all the places Chip had visited while she was in the club, she thought it was cute. The last picture was with Dale..and she got SO excited. We then gave her Dale. She took both Chip and Dale with her to the farewell in the lobby, and I got a cute video of Chip and Dale playing with the dolls and acting like they were going to keep her dolls.

Anyway, I'm doing a website of our trip and plan to have a page set aside for the "Adventures of Chip" when I can get to it. If anyone wants to read it, it will be at http://eldertvacations.com

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm not a regular on the boards, usually have time about once a week to pop in and read stuff, but I'll try to keep up.

Ooooh - That's such a cute story about the Chip (and Dale) and we are SO HAPPY to have more Chip 'n' Dale "fans" joining this cruise!

If you click the graphic for this cruise in my signature it will take you to our Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts website. I have added you to the Cruiser List on the site. If you advise me of any additional info I will add that (Dinner Seating, Celebrations, Stateroom, whether you will participate in the Fish Extenders, etc.).

I listed your daughter's age as 7 (for age at time of our cruise). Will that be correct? I also took a look at your cruise site/journal. Your daughter is ADORABLE! Will this be your 2nd DCL cruise?

Again, WELCOME! :welcome:

Shari

And yes, please do post "The Adventures of Chip"!

We welcome you to the thread and we are excited to have you!

Isn't it fun to do a theme for a cruise?! And it's like an extra fun thing that you picked this particular one since you had all the fun with the Chip ('N Dale...who joined in later).

I've started reading your trip report - I love reading them.

Smiles,

Holly

Welcome Tanya and family. :) I too will have a 7 yr old on the cruise.. .but I have a boy...whole new species. ;)

We are going to WDW etc over Xmas break. the kids have never seen Disney decorated for Xmas and the last time we were there for Xmas was our honeymoon and the castle looked like a huge bday cake. ( I wanted to cry! it was my first time there and I wanted to see the castle. lol.)

Hey everyone - - Check the NEWS page of our website for the first set of graphics using the logo in my signature, including a large "normal" one, a large reverse one for t-shirt transfers, and the "name card" one like Holly and I have in our lanyards.

The "beach 'munks" (website logo) graphic is "coming soon." I need to rescan the artwork at a higher res.

The "kids group" on our cruise looks like a great one. So far it appears there will be four 7-year olds (Sianna, Madison, Makayla & John Jr.) and two 10-year olds (Morgan and Natalie). Now we need another 12-year old for Gabby! :dance3:

I need help coming up with some special Chip 'n' Dale themed activities for kids. Any ideas?
