12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Ooooh - That's such a cute story about the Chip (and Dale) and we are SO HAPPY to have more Chip 'n' Dale "fans" joining this cruise!

If you click the graphic for this cruise in my signature it will take you to our Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts website. I have added you to the Cruiser List on the site. If you advise me of any additional info I will add that (Dinner Seating, Celebrations, Stateroom, whether you will participate in the Fish Extenders, etc.).

I listed your daughter's age as 7 (for age at time of our cruise). Will that be correct? I also took a look at your cruise site/journal. Your daughter is ADORABLE! Will this be your 2nd DCL cruise?

Again, WELCOME! :welcome:

Shari

Hi Shari!
Yes my daughter will be 7. One month before she is 8. We booked this date so that she could choose between the 5 to 7 group or the 8 to 10. Since she very mature for her age, she tends to play better with children older than she, and we heard if we were within a month of her birthday the kids could chose to move up. Since we homeschool we don't have to worry about traveling during school breaks, in fact we avoid those times whenever possible.

This is our 2nd cruise and we can't wait..though it seems so far away right now. We will be doing main dining and our stateroom is 7567 and we would love to do the fish extenders, we had a blast doing it last month. No special celebrations...just the need for a vacation!
We are hoping to talk other relatives into booking this trip, but I'm not holding my breath.

Tanya

Thanks, Tanya! I just updated your info. :thanks:

I need help coming up with some special Chip 'n' Dale themed activities for kids. Any ideas?

Let me think about it, I'm pretty good at coming up with kids activities. In my work life I run a family tour company and am a girl scout troop leader.

Personally one of the best activities we did as a family was the fish extenders, we all loved getting and giving the gifts. Our group did a version called Disney tag, when you got a gift and were tagged, you delivered your gift to the next name on your list with the tag magnet.

Thanks, Tanya! I'd appreciate any ideas you come up with. I know that the fish extenders can be fun for families, but since our cruise has a Chip 'n' Dale theme, it would be great if we could have at least one special activity for kids that focused on Chip 'n' Dale. Thankfully there is plenty of time to think and plan! ;)

I like what BeachParty3 did with the "Adventures of Chip" - could be fun with Chip 'N Dale? That sounds like a must!

I'm glad Tanya is good at kid stuff - since my son is older now and the grandkids don't live near me - I'm out of the loop as to kids activities these days.

Smiles,

Holly

1st time Disney Cruiser Alert!!:yay:

Although I have cruised 3 other times now, this is our 1st DCL cruise. I will be traveling with my 3 children, my mom, my brother and his wife. We are soo excited. My brother and SIL are 1st time cruisers all together so what a way to cruise!

Here is our information:

Names of Adults - Kristie (me), Cheryl, David & Connie

Names of Children - Amanda (will be 12, just weeks away from that first teen birthday), Katelyn (will have just turned 11 the day before we sail), and then Brody (3, but only months away from turning 4)

Dinner Seating - 2nd

Staterooms - 6078, 6080 & 6081 (across the hall from 6080)

Fish Extender = Yes (obviously never have done that before, but sounds like fun, especially with 3 children!):dance3:

:welcome: Welcome Kristie and family! Wow! We are thrilled to have you all with us! I added you to the Cruisers page of our website. This cruise certainly is shaping up nicely. :goodvibes

New Cruisers - Yay!

I'm excited as we've added several in the last few weeks. I've said it before - but it makes cruising fun to have some people you "know" on the cruise.

So welcome to all of you! And Happy First DISNEY Cruise! :woohoo:

Smiles,

Holly

Holly and I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Deb, John, Madison and Makayla yesterday when Holly spotted them at Epcot. It's so nice meeting others who are part of Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts and will be sailing with us in 2010! :boat:

It was fun meeting Deb, John, Madison and Makayla. Although I think I scared poor Deb for a second...

We'd been sort of looking for them by noticing twins as we walked around, but for some reason we thought they'd be in typical Disney princess dresses. We kept spotting many sets of twin girls ...but they'd either be too old, or I kept saying, "but they don't have the right hair". :rotfl2: Well...in the photos they have that nice curly hair...and that's how I figured I'd spot them. :)

We saw all kinds of twins in princess outfits but none that we thought might be them. As we got towards the evening I saw a couple go by with twin girls. I told Shari, "no Disney princess outfits but they have the right hair".

So we turned around and I said, "Is that Madison and Makayla?" Poor Deb had that look of "who IS this strange woman and why does she know my kids' names?" :scared1:

Of course we immediately told them we knew them from the cruise thread. Fun to catch up with them. They looked like they were having a great time, but a little tired out. (WDW will do that to ya!)

Smiles,

Holly

LOL - I was shocked to hear their names, and wondered if I heard it correctly. It was nice to meet the two of you. Afterwards I felt horrible and asked my DH if I had introduced him but to be honest, we couldn't remember. We were very worn out. For all the reading, research, etc. I had done on WDW - I was still way over my head. It never really sunk in to me just how large that place is! And the weather - we picked a funny time to go. :) My DH said we could go as long as I picked a cool time of the year - and then we watched the Weather Channel tell us that WDW was hitting record highs. LOL. Go figure.

But we are home, and had a good time. The first day & 1/2 the girls were scared to death and begging to go home. By the end they were begging to live there instead. :) They loved telling the CMs that they were now officially a "whole hand" in age.

We are really looking forward to the cruise. I imagine (since I've never been on one) that it is still a fun vacation, but not quite so hectic.

When you go to WDW, you need a vacation when you get home from all the running around etc. :lmao:

A cruise is more relaxing, but there is soo much to do on board there isnt enough time to do it all. :) You just have to rebook again.

I love the other "website".

We knew that with "doing WDW" you would all be exhausted, plus it was late in the day by the time we saw you. It was really great to meet you all though. No worries about introductions. Thanks to the cruise and this thread, we already knew your names. It's just that after we said our goodbyes, Holly and I looked at each other and asked ourselves if maybe we scared you - going after you like that as if you would recognize us straight away! I hope we didn't scare the girls!

Have to say again, we were SO happy to have been able to meet you. :goodvibes

Nah - ya'll didn't scare anyone. Those were our confused faces. :) I'm glad you said something, it was nice to put a face with a post. In such a big place, it is funny that we did manage to be in the same place/same time. LOL - you knew it was late cuz we were a mess. It was a lot of walking - and a lot of fun.

The cruising website ! :) I was on there today...there were more updates!! :)
sorry for the confusion.

Do you mean OUR cruising website . . the one for all of us Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts ?

I'm trying to add things as I find time (and inspiration - LOL). Look for a lot more content by late next week. :surfweb:
