12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

We'll be staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise. Does anyone have recommendations for places to eat? They need to be family friendly as I have two small children. Thanks in advance.

I believe there is a McDonalds nearby or even across the street if you aren't looking for a TS meal.

If you have a car, Dennys is down the road.

Right next to the Hotel is a nice Italian place, and the food is very good, we ate with our kids there.

If anyone smokes cigars, let me know. I will bring extra along, I always do.
You will find me at night on deck 9 enjoying the night sky smoking my cigars.

I have plenty so please dont be shy. Just want to make sure I bring enough.
I dont smoke cigars but that was really nice to offer :)

Greetings from Pittsburgh! :) After catching up on posts, it is the week for knee injuries... my mom fell Sat night and fractured her knee cap. So our fun week of shopping has been put on hold! but she is doing better!

tom night is Johns suprise party, he has no idea!! :thumbsup2
for an early bday present, he went to college at Pitt, and I know the head coach, so him and Jr are going to tour the practice football facility etc! both are excited!! They went to the Steeler game on Sunday (and John jr was lucky enough to catch a players arm band...so he is on a football high!)

hope everyone is doing well!! :)

If I am not around tomorrow or Thurs... Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

~Val

ps: we are at the Residence Inn by the port, but we probably wont get into til 1am or so. I was hoping to take the kids out of schoo early on Friday, but that isnt going to happen. :(

*thanks for the nice comments about the family pic* Just wanted to update you all on my continual packing process!

I just hit the liquor store.. wow I walked out spending $100. Ok, I know $100 before hand will probably save us several hundred on a ship..but we aren't big drinkers -and this is vacation - but that is alot of money compared to what we usually spend at the liquor store (1 -24 pack of beer per month)

In case anyone doesn't know about alcohol and gastric bypass..the 2 are an interesting mix. Since you skip the stomach and go straight to lower intestines, you can get completely drunk in 5 minutes and be completely sober in another 20.. it is the WEIRDEST feeling! And I mean completely drunk off of a 1/2 of wine cooler (back in the day I could drink a whole 5th of rum without a problem!). So I sip...and sip.. and go through 1 wine cooler per evening so I can maintain a little even buzz.

Soo.. you know those little tiny bottles of alcohol. I LOADED UP :) They are the cutest little things! PLUS got mojitos in a bag (I couldn't help it - ever since New Orleans I have loved that drink).. I got Mike some scotch and beer so he is set and we might buy some rum on the islands. We really aren't alcoholics..but it is vacation and I cringe when I think about the costs of drinks on the ship.

I have a rolling softsided cooler where you put drinks in the bottom and expand the top to put towels, suits etc. That is our carry-on.

PLUS since we are budgeting, no cabana massage for Mike this year. BUT a few months ago I spend about $20 with a groupon deal for a 60 minute swedish massage. Nice wife that I am, I scheduled it for Mike the morning before we start our trip (we are leaving to drive overnight around 8 pm)... so he officially has a massage on his vacation.

I am SO ready for this!
Have a great Thanksgiving Everyone!
See you soon!

Wow, that sounds like a wicked roller coaster ride with the bypass!

I wanted to get some liquor to bring onboard while we're spending the night in the Radisson -- any suggestions on rolling, softsided coolers that I can try to fit into a suitcase? Otherwise I might just bring them on in a bag instead -- maybe a six pack and a bottle of rum (yo, ho, yo, ho).
