We went and saw the Osbourne Lights last night and they were fabulous as always. I still have to say that I miss when they used to decorate the backlot tour area instead. I loved walking down the street and seeing the houses decorated with the grills and bicycles all lit up. I used to decorate out grill just like that on out back deck!

Shari, did you and your Mom enjoy your day? What did you see that was different this year? Can't wait to see how the ship will be decorated! 2 weeks!

Bobbie - I replied to your email. I'm glad you got to see the lights again.

Our day was good, considering it was at my mom's pace - lol. Didn't see much, as she was always hungry (the diabetic thing of a little food, often) and was walking slower than usual even with her rollator. We ran into a CM who had been on our Wonder cruise (as a guest) last month. She spotted and made a beeline for us because she instantly recalled having seen Duffy riding on my mom's rollator, as he was doing yesterday but in his Aussie costume.

I was disappointed in the Duffy store yesterday. The CMs didn't seem to know anything about anything. I bought the keychain and magnet this time, but no outfits as they only had the baseball one. Can't buy a Christmas costume for Duffy - only the 12" Christmas Duffy bear itself. So for our cruise I might "borrow" one of my Pal Mickey's old Santa suits that was too large for him.

Taswira, glad you had a nice day and were able to see your CM friend from the cruise. Sorry you didn't find any new outfits at the Duffy store. When we were there the Wed. before my surgery, they had several new outfits I hadn't seen before.

I was surprised to find the smaller Duffy in Christmas outfit at the Studios Christmas store yesterday, I guess the bigger Duffy is only sold at EPCOT or are they selling everywhere now? Fell in love with the Chip 'n Dale Christmas mini stuffed animals. Was able to get the Spectacle of Lights Chip 'n Dale pin! Two pin set, happy me.

Starting to put up the tree, changing bulbs on the colored light strings that we put on the pre-lite white light tree from my throne...errr...chair while DH finishes up some work. It's begining to look a lot like Christmas!

It'll feel a lot more like Christmas after Thanksgiving. Won't be doing anything Christmas related (except shopping) till after turkey day.

I found out something new again reading everyone elses posts, and now I have a question, How does the autogragh thing work, can it be anything for them to sign and how many "treats" do you give?

Typically people bring pillowcases, mats for picture frames, and sometimes tshirts. and now vinylmations.
Put the items you want signed in a ziploc bag, and take it guest services, the first night of the cruise. There is a form which gives your name, cabin number. and which autographs you would like. (Mickey and friends, Princess' or everyone.) Include sharpies (fabric markers) in the bags too.) on the last night of the cruise.. Your autographed things magically appear in your cabin! I just include a big bag of candy for this.

Not sure if you all have a walgreens near you..but I just picked up a set of ears for Sianna that had Minny ears on a head band with a pink santa hat on it. There was a red set for Mickey. It was $2.50. I am surprising her with them in a Tinkerbell stocking, holiday Mickey pen, and activity books in the stateroom. She seems to think 'Mickey' brings gifts like Santa.. (who knows where she got that from, not something we've ever done) - but anyway, I plan to go to the room first while they are finishing up in the pool and put it out as a gift from Mickey

I also got the picture mat for signatures from the characters, - we are bringing candy/nuts from our local area (big peanut area as little extra tips.

We will also be signing up for tea with Alice as soon as we board.. and if it interferes with brunch or tea at Palo..guess that opens up a reservation for Palo for someone else. I have my priorities!

Some other great tips - bring Santa hats for pictures ( I read that on a list) and got these cute little watches on key rings since we no longer wear watches cause we have cell phones, and they will be locked in the safe.

Did you all see we be a week or two too early to get the onboard cell phones? Too bad they are such a cool idea!

on a personal note: I bought another website that came w/another 5 new internet radio stations 2 weeks before going on vacation. I am now certifiable. It was Virginia Beach though.. my city.. and since I already own Baltimore and the Outer Banks of North Carolina I had to have my city.. now how do I completely eliminate sleep for the next 2 weeks?

Woo Hoo!!! 2 weeks to sailaway party. Getting excited. Bad thing is I have been nursing a bummed knee for a week. Not sure what I did, but it aches bad. Not too bad walking, but going from a sitting to standing position hurts bad. Going to see an ortho doc on monday. So keeping my fingers crossed, I wont be in some brace or on crutches when we go. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Have you Cruisin' Nuts been keeping up with the status of the Flying Dutchman? Looks like the FD will definitely NOT be there when we arrive - being dismantled either for refurb or destruction. Rumors of Black Pearl eventually showing up, but more likely a total refurb of the FD.

The FD did look pretty bad to me when I was there last month.

I'm excited as everyone is. 14 days. WOW. Stinks about the Dutchman, but weather has taken its toll. I am sure Disney will replace or do something else.
