I used to go to cruise cal.com to see how many ships were in port on the days we were in Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, etc., but I guess there is a charge for that now. Does anyone know of another way to find out that information? On cruise critic, someone told me to check port times.com, but that site has gone down.

In case you're wondering why I want to know, it just has a bearing on how busy it's going to be in port. There's nothing you can do about it, but it helps me plan activities.

Thanks,
Lisa

I used to use cruise cal too. I was bummed when they started charging! The last time I checked before there was a charge, there were several ships scheduled to be in GrandCayman and Cozumel when we are there. Don't know of any other sites out there. Sometimes you can go to GrandCayman or Cozumelweb sites and there may be a cruise ship schedule. I know St Thomas has one.

Okay, I know we are the new guys in town, but I neeeeed to hear back from you guys! I am really looking forward to meeting you all so that we can write and post back and forth like you all do.

We are watching Tampa Bay and Atlanta play today. I grew up in Tampa, so I have to root for them. I'm guessing that some of you New Yorkers like football, and maybe the folks from Pittsburgh and New Orleans. How about the Michigan folks? Ohio? Georgia? Illinois? Indiana? So, tell me who do you like? College counts too.

We saw the Wonder as we drove over the bridge to church today. It always makes us smile to see it, and we look at each other and say, "Disney Boat!!!" in a very child-like voice.

:cheer2:

Lisa, I don't like football, I LOVE my LSU Tigers, just ask Woo, her team took a beatin' from mine last year and she will be wearing a LSU tshirt on the cruise as payoff. Pro football not such a fan, we have a team but we don't like to broadcast it and if you saw the Saints play you would understand why:sad2:

Jeff, my parents were in NY 2 weeks ago and they ate at Carmines and loved it. My mom also saw Wicked and Lion King but could not stop raving about Wicked so my bet is thats a winner.

I have seen Wicked 4 times and it is a MUST/ if you can acturally get tickets dont pass them up

As a fellow dog lover, you'll understand if I say "BITE ME!" I don't do pedicures! You may feel free to ask anyone of the vet 06 or 07'ers. I have feet like a hobbit and am quite content to keep them like that. C'mon fellow members of the heman woman haters society.... back me up here! Pedicure indeed!!!
:snooty:

Aw shucks, I was just commenting on your nice looking feet. If you saw DH's you'd understand why. I've always wanted to get him a pedicure gift certificate but I'm not sure I have enough money for the unfortunate nail tech's tip. :scared1: You men really ought to try a pedicure. It's so relaxing. We girls won't laugh at you...honest.....;)

jollg, who's your favorite sport team?

Hi Lisa,

I'm a die hard fan of the Ritsumeikan University sumo team. :lmao:

In all honesty I root for the Oregon Ducks.

Marie, thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm sorry you got sick from the heat. It was terrible here this weekend. That's one of the reasons we decided to wait until next weekend to ride the ferry to the ship. DH golfed this AM and he came back completely wasted.

Lisa, DH is the true sports fan in this household. His favorite is the Redskins. He's happy today because they actually won a game this afternoon. I'm expecting the snow to start falling here any minute. :rotfl: He likes NC State for college teams. He watches NASCAR, too (he's an old Mark Martin fan.)

Cheryl

Greg, those are the skinniest sumos I've ever seen! Feed those poor children some roast beef and mashed potatoes for goodness sakes!!

GreatDaneMom, Cheryl - The Redskins are cool. We like them too. DH is a Florida State fan, so he likes the Indian war chant. We met a great couple on another Disney Cruise that live in Raleigh, and he went to NC State, so we root for them for him.

jollyg, Greg? - You're in Idaho? Is that right? So that's why you like Oregon? (Sorry, my knowledge of geography of the that part of the U.S. isn't too good.)

disneediva, Wendy - I'll be looking to see Shell in the LSU shirt. Did LSU play yesterday?

I mentioned that we root for the Buccaneers; Steve likes the Miami Dolphins too. I went to the University of Miami, so I root for them now (though I didn't like them years ago.) And, my undergraduate school, University of Central Florida has been doing pretty well lately. So, we have a few teams to root for kind of close by.

Firemans wife, Lorna - thanks for the update on how many cruise ships will be in port in Grand Cayman.

Thanks!
Where is Carmine's I'm looking for good family dinner suggestions since I only know business dinner or great places that Mina and i go when we get away to the city for a weekend.

Carmine's is right in the theater district, right on 44th street right by the Marriott Marquis (my fav hotel in NYC)
There is also one uptown, but you wouldn't want that one.

Google it and it has a menu, each dish feeds at least 2-3 people.

hey jd99 I saw your post about your daughter wanting to come to NY and do stuff around the city...If you are going to be by Build A Bear or American Girl both on the same street...Along that same avenue in the direction of Central Park there is a huge three floor Disney store...They also have character meet and greets throughout the day...Just one block down from there is FAO Schwartz across from the old Plaza hotel...Central Park has a great little zoo, where we love to see the Polar Bears and Sea Lions...A couple of avenues over is Jekyll and Hydes, a kind of cool haunted restauraunt...And there is also Mars 2112 near the Wintergarden theater thats alot of fun, you board what is meant to be a space shuttle simulated ride that takes you into the pit of Mars, with an arcade and aliens, its a fun place to have lunch complete with Alien Encounters...Hope this helps ...Have a great trip

P.S. I have also take the kids to Sony Wonder which is free to get into and you can travel around several floors to explore different types of technology, sort of a hands on techincal museum

disneediva, Wendy - I'll be looking to see Shell in the LSU shirt. Did LSU play yesterday?

Oh God yes ... didn't you hear the shrieks of joy coming towards you from the west???

And as far as wearing the LSU t-shirt on the ship .... we'll see. What BFF-LA doesn't know is I've already worn it twice (almost got beat up by OSU fans at the ice cream place, but nonetheless ...)
