Hello all! We are lucky...our DD(7) is tracked out in year round school

We will be staying at the Radisson pre-night as well. This is our first time driving to Fla. DS(3) put us over the top on the cost differential, even with extra hotel stays.

I got our Palo ressies yesterday (GC night). I checked out the excursions (similar to past cruises) but I think we are going to book everything ourselves. We have been to GC 3 times, Cozumel 4 times, Key West 3 times, so we have a good idea what we want to do while there. If you are looking to save some $$ (and who isn't), search for the location names and you will be surprised how much you can get it for (usually 50-60% of the trip, but you need to include ~$20 for taxi/bus). It can help, for sure.

Well we have been blessed with our school district giving us 10 whole days for vacation. If educational.
I dont know what could be more educational then seeing different parts of the world. Never mind the fact that I have a feeling the boys will never leave the clubs. lol

We took advantage of this last year and again this year. I sure hope they dont catch on to the Jones Family Cruises and change this policy. I guess when we move to Fl then we wont have this but at least we wont need the extra 4 days of travel .

Just got off the phone with both Wendy and Mike.

Wendy's doing well in New Orleans, but the next few hours will be the telling hours as the winds coming out of the gulf can drive the water up thru the levees. One levee has breeched, another is topping downriver, but they are doing what they can to shore them up. N.O. is not out of the woods yet ... Wendy said this is exactly what happened during Katrina: they thought it was over then all the levees failed with the surge afterwards. So keep the pixie dust coming ...

Mike was taking a nap (!) in his hotel in Baton Rouge ("there's nothing else to do ..." ). They got hit pretty bad, lost power around 1 or 2, but he and Austin are making the best of it playing PS2 when they can!

Woo sent me the thread about mising school because being ateacher it really makes me ANGRY when other teachers feel they are so important that even though they have your child the other 180 days, missing 7 to see the world and be in the company of family and friends isn't as important as a project ironing leaves!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will not tkeout my senior in high school because of her work load, but all others are excused, even if the state says they may not be. It says theyMAY not give makeup work, not HAVE TO GIVE A ZERO.
My homework is always the same for WDW....

1. What was your score on Buzz light year. Make a story math problem, up about that. (Math and Writing!)

2.Describe your favorite meal/ride.

3. Have the people in the Epcot Kidspots write your name in their language.

4. Bring your favorite teacher (me) a present.

5. Tell whomever took on this tip they are the best and you will love them forever.... practice saying this as a speech.

That just about covers all subject................. Add the nemo ride for science extra credit.

Can be adapted for cruises. The education has forgotten the whole child and family values........... and I am a liberal!

I've been kind of keeping this mostly to myself (though a couple on here know as well) but I'm heading to surgery in the morning - something that hopefully will only keep me in the hospital overnight and all signs are that there should not be any problems, but I guess I could use as much pixie dust and prayer as I can get. So if you can send a little my way, I'd really appreciate it.

Went to the Cougers baseball game today.....it was hot!!!!! But a pretty good game.....Cougers won!!!! In the 5th inning alone they scored 9 runs......it was great!!!!

But just chilling now and getting ready for work tomorrow!!!! (yuk)
