The Beach Club looks really neat...we tried to rent points there last time...but it's seems to be really hard to rent points there. We stayed at the Boardwalk once and it was also great...both the Beach Club and BoardWalk are within walking distance of Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. We are hoping to rent points for Animal Kingdom Villas before the cruise...especially since we will probably be skipping the parks do to Kierra and the rides...

Hi Jamie,

I hadn't thought of renting points? Guess I'll have to check into it.

I've never had to "pay" to get into any resort before because my wife and I have several timeshares with extremely high trading power....I've never NOT gotten into where I wanted before in the time frame I've wanted, but so far Disney's Villas have eluded me? :confused3

Bobby and Greg...I saw a post on the main board but for some reaon I couldn't post to it...not sure why...anyway it was about Cozumel and the Dolphin Encounter...you were talking about booking a as group for your 08 cruise and getting a discount? Were you able to just pay for your own family or did someone have to pay for the full group?

I still pop in for a quick catch up.
I am not really in a chatty mood, Dan is still out of work and it is affecting both of us in pretty bad ways.

I lost another 3lbs this week

Our friends were able to trade their points through interval international but could only get the Old Key West or Saratoga Springs...both would be our last choice of DVC resorts just because of the location to the parks...but are still beautiful resorts and are nicer than the moderate and value resorts and you still get all the benefits of being onsite.

Wow 5 pounds in 2 weeks that's great!

Are you talking about the cruise itself or excursion on Cozumel?

Some of us transferred our reservations over to a travel agent who offered us some extra OBC, but it wasn't really a group thing.

Some of the 08er's are talking about chartering a yacht at the Grand Caymon's (as a group) for a party cruise, but our family won't be going because it sounds like it will be allot more "adult oriented"

I think Bobby was wanting another family to charter a private yacht in Cozumel with lobster dinner on boad, but at $200 bucks a head they'd better fly us in a private jet to Acapulco for the lobster dinner! :lmao:

Hey Jaime,

looks like on person must purchase.. I tried yesterday just to see how it would work. But with 10 people, they automatically deduct the 10%

That's what I thought...thanks for the info...I was suprise by the big difference in price by booking directly and through DCL even without a discount.

Yeah 5lbs I am really pleased with that especially considering how stressed I have been.

Beautiful pictures!

I hope everything gets better soon:hug:

Thats too bad. AK villas look nice. I have been in the AK lodge before it opened on a passholders only tour of the place before it opened. It was awesome, so unique.
Thats one of the best thing WDW does. Every resort is themed to the extreme, every little detail.

Do they have other Villas there you can use??

Have you seen the small paper back book, Hidden Mickeys at WDW?
It is a detailed book on where hidden Mickeys are allover that place, including hotels and restaurants.
It is fun to look for them as you do the attractions. Kids are especially good at finding them. it weill tell you the park and area of the park then clues to fimd them., like a scavenger hunt.
Then farther back in the book it will tell you exactly where to find it in case you miss them.

I often carry it in my bag so when we are eating, or resting or waiting for a ride we look for the hidden Mickeys in the area. Your kids might enjoy that.

When you go after the cruise they will have extra hidden Mickeys due to the Christmas decorations. Look carefully at any gingerbread houses and displays.

Dawn is probably an expert at finding them. I think we have found all but a few on the extreme rides which i dotn due. most youdonthave to do the ride to find them. I dont know about Everest, it wasnt in my book, maybe an updated book will have the newer stuff.

we will probably be there one day within a week after the cruise to see the decorations. depending on how the dogs do in the kennel. dont want to leave them again immediatley after we get home, maybe 4 or 5 days later.

kathy

Kathy, LOVE to hunt for hidden Mickeys! I had an earlier version and had :rotfl:to buy the latest edition last year. Who knows there is probably another! I've had the most fun finding the ones at AK.

Greg, Old Key West is right in the middle of WDW. Great location. It's right near Port Orleans where we like to stay. The down fall of OKW is that it has no elevators for the second floor.

Saratoga Springs has it's advantages because it directly across from Downtown Disney and it's on the Saratoga River. Another way I get around at the Port Orleans resort.

Just saying...

Yup, you guessed it, midday check-in! :lmao: I'm glad to hear from Chuck and Lisa!

Spent to much money but at least came away with what I went for. Always a good thing. I haven't bought backpacks in a couple of years, OMG, I didn't know they'd cost that much! I bought Christian a backpack from Eddie Bauer that has a lifetime guarantee! The first Eddie Bauer one I got was for Stephanie for college (about 13 years ago) and her's is still going strong!

Had another rain shower this morning! The sun is out now.

Jaime, I'm on pins and needles.

We stayed at Saratoga Springs after our last cruise...that place is huge...it can take a while to get around if you don't have a car...but it is a very nice resort. It is very close to Downtown Disney...just a quick boat ride.

Hey Jaime,

Thanks for the info.

Does Saratoga Springs have a water slide or anything for the kids?

I can trade today into Saratoga Springs, but from the pictures it doesn't really look kid friendly?! (more of an adult spa type resort?)

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for the info. on Old Key West. :thumbsup2

I have it on my list of resorts I'll accept if it comes up on exchange through Interval International. I think its the only Disney resort that has 3 bedroom villas to exchange?!

Everytime I go off line you people get so chatty:confused3

lisa, loved the pictures, they were great!! Hope you'll post little more often,it will give you something to think about besides lifes problems for a few minutes.

I love the Wilderness lodge. we always walk to bike the path over to the campground area, where you can play onthe beach, rent small boats, see the Hoop De Do Revue.
