11/27/04 the sequel.....

Gailyn & Curt & everyone else--

We are leaving on the December 9, 2006 Western. We would love to have you join us!!!!

Haven't been on here in ages. Stopped getting the email notification that there were new messages and guess I hadn't checked in for a long time. Hope everyone is doing well. Sounds like it has been a rough month for many of you! Glad everyone is still here though!!!

Amanda,
That was too funny!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Although I'm concerned that DH Greg thought it was equally hillarious  I printed it out and will take it to work tomorrow so my co-workers can have a laugh :). As it is, every time I look at the bag of I da ho potatoes in the garage I smile!!!!

Curt, if you look at allseastravel.com, it shows all the prices for any DC in '05 and '06 for all categories. That's who we booked with for our November trip. However, I'm also checking prices from Costco, AAA, DU, icruise.com, and Expedia. I tried calling and emailing Amanda's agent, Dana, but have not gotten a call or email in return?????

It looks like we'll do the Oct 15, 2006 or the December 2, or Nov 26th '06. December 9th was too late for us with the kids school. They would miss their class parties and the Christmas play. If we go in Oct. we'll do Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party before the cruise and if we go in December we'll do the MVMCP again. The kids really enjoyed the special parties and they had great special shows and activities.

Kim and Diane, I mailed pictures to you both today. Matt put in valentine for Matt and Chase. Amanda, I have a picture for you too of our group at the beach on CC. Can you send me your address again???? Sorry, I don't know what I did with it.....

Diane, we are still booked for Dec 3rd '05. But I need to verify with Greg that we're keeping that resi. Over the weekend we discovered a possible problem with our pool. We're going to have the pool people here to take a look but they need to wait until the water in the pool unfreezes so they can go to the bottom and diagnose the problem. If it is huge, we may need to cancel and just do WDW and the Christmas party. Since we are DVC members, and we have APs and airmiles, that trip is not a big deal. We'll hopefully know by the end of the month.

Well, all for now.

Gailyn :wave2:

Diane and Kim,
Let me know when you get the pictures. Matt helped me mail them. He was so excited.

I hope all is well with everyone.

Gailyn :flower:

Gailyn, I know that Dana is hard to get a hold of, but trust me, usually it is worth the wait. Anyway, I have also learned that she had surgery this week, thus putting her more behind I am sure. My best advice is to book directly thru DCL and then shop around with various TA's to transfer the ressie too.

Amanda,
Thanks for the PM with your address. I was on line when the PM came up, so I sent a message back. Thanks for the heads up about Dana. I already have my ressie with DCL (from onboard) so I'm just comparing rates. So far DU is the cheapest with Costco a close second for the Dec 3rd '05 date.

Greg has a dinner meeting tonight so it's just me and the kids. We just finished homework and I made "hot" cider for them and now they're watching TV. Ah......time for the computer without Greg harrassing me about my Disboard addiction!!! :cloud9:

I still haven't sat down and worked on my scrap book from the trip. I have all the materials but I'm hesitant about how you cut the pictures. I went to JoAnn Fabrics and looked at all the scrapbook tools but it was all very intimidating. Anyone have advice on how to get started??? :confused3

Gailyn

Hi all!! For some reason I just stop getting email notification so I never know if you are here or not.

Amanda - great joke!!!!

Gailyn, we got the pictures and valentine, thank you so much!!! It was the first time Chase got excited that he had mail and made sure to tell me to keep it away from his brother!!! The pictures were really good.

We saw the fertility doc Wed and are going to one adoption agency Sat and one Sun. We definatly want to cruise again but this year is out of the question as we will be broke from all of this. Our next cruise would be sometime between Oct and Dec 2006 and I would like to do the Western.

Tracey - you must be so proud of your daughter!!! How nice to see the fruit of the hard work of parenting!!

Take care all

Kim

Hi Everyone!! I don't know about anyone else, but I am ready for a vacation!!! Work is a pain and I'm very tired of the cold weather. I wish I was down in Florida getting ready to go to the port on this Saturday morning.

Gailyn - Matt got the pictures and was so excited. He couldn't wait for me to get home to show me what Matt sent him!!! Great pictures.

Everyone - do you usually make reservations online and then transfer them to a TA? I didn't do that last year - I tried three (AAA said they couldn't do it and DU never answered me and another that couldn't beat the price). Do you still get the $200 room credit if you go with a TA?

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Diane

Hi everyone, I have been so busy and just checking things once in awhile. Diane we booked on the ship this past time and changed over to Micdan.com - recommended by Amanda and ended up saving $300 from what was quoted on the ship and keep the onboard credit. The agent's name is
Dana - Amanda can tell you more info. She is very sweet and will help you. I had been going back and forth on the ressies and she was very patient with me. Good luck.

Kim, Good luck with everything. I'll keep you and John in my prayers.

I'm so glad that Chase and Matt received the pictures and their valentine. Matt was so excited about sending mail to his friends. Sorry for the delay. If I can get Greg to ever sit down in front of the computer with me, I'll send the email version. There were some cute pictures of the boys, especially at CC.

Diane, I hear you. I can't stand the cold weather and work is really giving me stress. I have to start planning a short Feb or March Florida trip. Maybe a long weekend in WDW for '06. Every year about this time we're all sick of winter and cold and just need a break, but I always wait until now to start planning and it's just too expensive at the last minute.

Yesterday I left work early just to go to the library, dry cleaner, Target, make calls to insurance for lingering mistakes, wash all the bedding to get rid of cold germs and drop stuff off at the tailor. I got so much done in just a few hours. I wish I had an afternoon every week like that! I feel so on top of things (at least for a day or two!)

We didn't have plans for Fri night so we took the kids to Outback to see their favorite server Jackie (and to have my favorite margaritas... :) Tonight we don't have plans either and I'm just going to relax and drink wine in front of the fire (while I play GO FISH, sort/shred mail and fold laundry!!!).

What's everyone doing for Valentines day???? :lovestruc I think we're going to make a crab legs or lobster tail dinner at home, put the kids to bed early and actually relax in front of the fire. Maybe rent a movie or something......... :lovestruc :lovestruc

Well, all for now.

April, great to hear from you! How are the boys doing?

Diane, dont let the bad weather get you down! I know how you feel about the vacation though! I just got back from Universal Studios about 3 weeks ago, and I am already ready for a vacation. With 4 kids, Steve and I get NO quality alone time. SIGH I am soo ready for our alone cruise in September! I wish he and I could sneal off to Biloxi for some alone time, even a weekend would be lovely, but no one will watch our kids.
Kim, I hope all goes well with the adoption agency. I would love to have you join us on either our 05/27/06 cruise or our 09/19/06 cruise! Both are the special Western to Costa Maya with 2 stops at Castaway Cay.

Well, we couldn't stand it any longer. Greg broke down (I am always ready and willing to go on vacation) and checked flight availability for a trip to Florida in March    . My job is to arrange hotel stay for 4 nights. We're thinking Universal Studios. Amanda, did you find any good deals? I'd like to stay at Portofino Bay. If rates are outrageous, we could use our DVC points and stay at WDW, but it would be fun to try something different. Our kids have never been to Universal.

Any other suggestions? Diane or anyone up for a trip? We could meet you! We're thinking any 4 nights in March. Preferably Fri - Mon. Our other option is an adult trip to Las Vegas. But I'd like to do the Florida trip so the Kids could come. They've been really good this weekend, can you tell?????

DH looks like he's still willing to do the 12/3 cruise, regardless of the problem with our pool :cool1: :cool1: . He must be having a weak moment. I should capitalize on this and ply him with more wine and ......I was so worried we'd have to reschedule our trip.

All for now. Hope all is well :flower: :flower: .

WooHoo! Awesome news!!! I was only able to get a good rate because I am a Georgia resident. PBH can get outrageous in price. BUT it is a fun resort. They have nice big fluffy down comforters on their beds, and most important front of the line access to most rides in the parks!

Eeeks, the rate on Expedia was over $350 per night for PBH!! I'm going to call to see if they are running any specials. I really don't want to pay that much. It's hard to justify a 4 night trip with airfare in the first place!! Well, I'm off to check other options :flower: .

I took the kids to see Racing Stripes today. :rotfl: :rotfl: Very cute movie. We all enjoyed it. It had one part where they used the "a" word two times while referring to a donkey, but the kids didn't catch it. The kids are looking forward to Winn Dixie next weekend. I hope it's enjoyable for adults too!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!  Have a great week everyone.

Gailyn

No I didn't. I'll go online and check it out.

The kids had their Valentine parties today at school. Oh my gosh, I can't believe all the CANDY they brought home!!!!! So much for my diet this week!

Gailyn

Gailyn and all
We're going to Vegas May 6-9 without kids. You are all welcome to join us if you also promise to come without your kids!! :rotfl:
