11/27/04 the sequel.....

They finally posted the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel pictures from our trip. I found Gailyn's family and mine (took a while to find my little guy). I didn't have time to enlarge each picture so if you find anyone else I should know, please let me know.

Diane,
Thanks for letting us know about the Doubloon pictures! I've been waiting and waiting. The kids are asleep but I'll show them the less riske pictures tommorow. Some of those pictures are wild! I can't believe the one of the butt and the two bald heads with "the chick".

The picture of your Matt showing his tatoo turned out cute! I wish our Matt had not had a mouth full of tortilla chips and Nickel had not had salsa all over her face!! But it brings back such nice memories to look at them just the way they are. That was such a great excursion!! It's one of our best memories of the whole trip.

I think I need a bannana bender!!!! I want to be in St. Thomas right now. It's 10 degrees here with a wind chill of -6 and we have 12 inches of snow. We shoveled the driveway twice and it looks like we never touched it!

Have a nice night all!

Gailyn :wave2:

Ok, what's the next trip everyone is planning (big or small).

We'll be heading to Penn State on February 26 for an open house. I'm checking into getting a cheap priceline room. Other than that, I'm working on our annual trip to Myrtle Beach. Wish I was working on a DCL or WDW trip. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Hi everyone.

Curt - glad to hear that your job situation turned out well. How is Steph's brother, is he continuing to recover??

Gailyn - those are some pictures. Who was the scantily clad woman (she kind of scared me)

Denise - we just got back from a little vacation to an indoor water park in the Wisconsin Dells. It was very fun and the kids had a great time. It's no cruise however!!!!

John and I found out we are expecting again and I am so hopeful this will work out but it is not looking good. Some of you know we had two miscarriages before the cruise so we humbly ask for your prayers. I will get more definative info from the doc tomorrow when some lab result return. We are scheduled to attend info meetings at two adoption agencies in early February so maybe that is the way God wants us to go.

I'm hoping to see NJ cruiser on her upcoming visit to Chicago, Diane the snow finally stopped!!! :earsboy:

Kim

Denise - oh yeah, we are going to Hilton Head in March for my brother's wedding and Vegas in May for my cousin's wedding. My BIL was injured so we are not currently planning any trips to see him play football. Again, these are no DISNEY CRUISES!!!!!!! :( :( :(

Kim - you and your family are in our prayers. We're wishing you the best!!

Denise - does Chicago for business count as a "trip". NOOOOOO!!!! I just got back from a 2-day trip yesterday and I'm going back on Monday morning. NO - to me business trips do not count. I remember when I used to think people had it so great if they could travel on business - free flights, free meals, free rooms. NO FUN.

But I'm really excited about our next trip - Mexican Riviera cruise on May. It's not Disney, but its a cruise.

Diane

Kim--we will keep you and John in our prayers. Kim, if you feel that adoption is a direction you wish to go, feel free to contact us. We've had some experience with it.

Unfortunately, Steph's brother took a sudden turn for the worse Wednesday and passed away about 1:00 this morning.

Curt

Hello from across 'the pond' hope the weather has improved for you guys it even made the news over here!

Kim - sending thoughts & prayers. :grouphug:

Curt - so sorry to hear about your BIL, thoughts & prayers to you too. :grouphug:

Hope everone else is having a better time, i've got a new job, running a children's forest school so i'm hoping that will go well & maybe even earn me enough to start looking at cruises!
Holidays - we are going to Scotland in August & possibly the Mediteranian.
2006 brochures will be out in May & we will be looking at Florida hopefully!!

Curt please pass our condolences onto to Steph for the loss of her DB. I am very sorry.

Kim, looks like you could use some well wishes as well. I hope and pray that your family gets a new edition, one way or another.

Denise, no big trips planned, we just came back from US/IOA on Monday. We spent the weekedn there and had a great time, but I tell ya Sunday was C-Old....brr We have our cruise coming up in September, for just Steve and I.

Tracy, glad to see you checking in and letting us know you all are okay. !
I am coming down with something again. I have been coughing and sneezing all day and I can feel fluid in my ears....sigh
Stay warm everyone! It has even gotten very cold here in GA.

PS Tracy, what is a childrens forest school? Congrats on the new job by the way!

Amanda--it sounds like you got a lot more than cold weather judging by the news last night. How are you getting by with all of the ice? We got about 2 more inches of snow last night, but I'm much happier with that then the stuff you guys got. Hopefully, it will all clear up before too long.

Its an outdoor classroom, children go into the woods & learn all kinds of skills & things about nature, its great for promoting independence & self esteem.
It started years ago in Scandinavia & has taken off big time there with childrens tests results also improving. I'm working with 3-5 year olds & we go out whatever the weather. I have invested in some thermal underwear, longjohns etc - & boy do i look a sight in my wellies & thermal hat, gloves, scarf & coat!!!! But i do love it!

Hope everyone is ok, i always check in even if i dont always post, its nice that everyone is still keeping in touch. :)

Curt, yesterday was ugly. We had to be at TaeKwonDo testing in downtown Columbus at 715 am! UGH It was very cold and everything was iced over. Once we got home safely after testing, it wasnt but an hour later that my kids told me that a tree had fallen in or driveway. I looked out and it was true! The weight of the ice was just to much for the tree to bear. Its a good thing I didnt have anywhere else I needed to go, as I was blocked in. THankfully, my neighbor offered to pull it out of my drive with his truck, and then still came and cut down branches that were still hanging low. Do you believe that Iwe have not said 2 words to these people in 3 years? Not because we are snobby, but because we stay so busy with work and kidsm that when we are home, we pretty much keep to ourselves. I felt so bad yesterday, being in my nice warm house, while this nice man was doing this for me. I would like to thank him but I am not quite sure how. Any suggestions>?

That sounds really neat! I have never heard of such a thing. What types of things do you do? So it is preschool, but it is held outside all day every day?
Hey, did you ever get ahold of the 7th season of Buffy?
ANd I am sure you look fine in your nice warm clothing!

Curt - I am so sorry to hear about your BIL! How is Steph holding up?? It must be hard for the kids too, losing their uncle.

Amanda - I thought of you too when I heard the weather in GA, I didn't know it got that icy down there. What a nice neighbor, since you don't know him very well I would get a gift certificate to Target, Wal-Mart, or a restaurant.

Tracey - your job sounds awesome!! I wish you were here to work with my 4y/o, the program sounds wonderful.

Waiting for lab results from the doctor tomorrow, and since I have no patience and like to be in control of everything I'm getting antsy. Thanks to all of you for the prayers and well wishes - you are a kind bunch!

Kim

dizneprincess Still not got Buffy, thanks for reminding me, i will have to go & check it out.
The children are not out all day we have a morning & afternnon session, & they are out for about an hour doing activities such as making mini nests for imaginary creatures, mud painting etc. They come from a local nursery & i work alongside the nursery teachers.
I've gotta go & do a course in September where i have to go to Wales for 3 nights doing activities & stuff in the Welsh mountains plus 5 units & a week at college. Luckily i will have finished the course i'm doing now by then!

Kim Good luck at the doctors.
Maybe this forest school could be the way i can get to come out & live over there!!! Then i could cruise every year Ahhh gotta go & day dream now.

Amanda--Kim's got a good idea. Gift certificates are always welcome. It's pretty amazing how often weather-related problems bring out the best in people. During our flooding early last month, people were using their boats to ferry folks from their homes. It was nice to see human kindness in action.

Kim--good luck at the doctor's. We'll pray for a positive outcome.

Thank you for the wonderful support and concern for Steph and our family. The funeral was yesterday. Her DB was only 37, so his death was particularly difficult on the family. Fortunately, he was not married and had no children, but it has still been difficult on Steph, her parents and her brothers and sisters. You are truly a wonderful group for your concern for everyone on this thread!

Curt

Curt: :grouphug:
I know theres nothing i can say, but wanted to let you know you & Your family are in my thoughts.

Thank you, Tracey. I don't think words are really needed. It's knowing that you and so many others here care enough to take time to send a message of heartfelt sympathy that means so much to all of us. I've shown Steph the many messages of support and she was touched that people she met for just a week were concerned enough to send these messages. Thank you everyone.
