Well all the cool names were already taken so Oregon has Ducks and Beavers for their teams

But the Ducks are really an awesome team this year, the Beavers not quite so good.


Greg I hope your better today. I am surprized you didnt get ill sooner with being around so many sick people. Its kind of as given you will get something, hopefully just for the day.


Cold and gloomy here again today. No rain yet but its coming. I can see my breath outside so I know its cold.!!

I packed one of our suitcases today.

I will pack another one probably tomorrow, that just leaves the carry on bags with the last minute things. YIPPEE!!


Greg hope your feeling better this afternoon.

Last weekend when i shopped I got some new jeans. One blue and one black, I washed them and went to wear the blue ones and they are the kind that stretch. UGH!! They fit when i tried them on but now they are so baggy 2 of me cold fit in them. They arnt relaxed fit just stretchy. That irked me big time.
Then I read on the tags that the black ones often will fade onto lighter coloed upholstery when you wear them I never heard of such a thing? I really got taken. now I am afraid to wear them.

I need to go to town after Greg gets home and get me a good pair of Levis I guess. No more walmart brands.

The sun has decided to come out this afternoon and it sure feels good.

Well, it was a fairly uneventful day. I went to bed last night and slept 8 hours, which is unusual for me, and have felt good ever since?!

I guess I just needed a full nights sleep.

I'm going to try and repeat it again tonight, but I'm not holding my breath.

Greg, The OLDER you get the more you need that 8 hours of sleep
You cant party all night and not expect to feelit the next day

If I dont get enough sleep I will feel sick too. I need at least 7 to feel good.

Well lots of Halloween type cooking shows this week. I like to watch them even if I cant eat them.
I use to love to make homemade snickers and Mr. Goodbars and a few other candies. I have receipes for them and they taste 99% like the store bought ones.

well not much to do today. Just a couple loads of wash. Need to wash my new jeans befroe I wear them. Thats about it.

Cold front from Canada is coming later today and by next week really cold!! Good time to be getting out of here

Good morning everyone!

Kathy, 6 day! Woohoo! Its going by fast now!

I imagine this thread will be lost on page 5 somewhere unless someone comes by to chat with me?!

My other cruise threads for our Panama cruise in March and our Mediterranean cruise in December have started picking up. We had another cruiser join us on the Panama cruise yesterday.

I bought our airfare into Miami a few days ago and also got our travel insurance. I think the only thing I have left to do on our Panama cruise is to reserve our pre-cruise hotel. I'm leaning towards the Embassy Suites because they have rooms big enough for my family and they offer a free hot breakfast buffet in the morning along with free shuttle to the airport and cruise port.

I'm off to the grocery store....I'll check in later.

Lets see I could mention being on Air Force One and some previous cruisers think your a former CIA person or how about Elmer?? Chaps??

Good thing for you I am about to leave for 2 weeks.

I just finished my MUST DO list before the cruise and my MUST NOT FORGET list too.

It has been dumping rain for 4 hours straight now UGH!! No signs of it letting up. I hate having to take the pups out in this rain, the smell of wet dogs is aweful. I have wipies for them that help and I burn candles which also helps.


well time to relax a bit before deciding what to fix for diner. I have some bacon I need to use up, maybe bacon and egg sandwiches?

I am sending you oodles and oodles of rain this week.

We have a series of storms from Canada sweeping down our coast and turning inwards to us. First one just finished a few minutes ago, it dumped buckets all day until just a few minutes ago.

Now its not raining but its still cold and yucky out.

Tonight i need to start using up things that would spoil while we are gone, so its bacon and egg sandwiches tonight I have 5 eggs and 8 pieces of smoked turkey bacon. Between Greg and the dogs it will be gone.

You see you may have forgotton all these fun things but I remember them all in case it will help me seek revenge sometime I have a great photo of you in your "APRON" at the meet too

I guess I'll be waking up to a white wonderland?

Well my in-laws made it back from Seattle yesterday and are now at my house watching the Ducks play Washington state again!....I recorded the game on our DVR.

It was close for the first few minutes.....I thought they might choke this time, but no they still won 49-19!

The weatherman was wrong!....NO SNOW HERE YET!!

It did rain last night, but didn't get cold enough to snow. We've still got some dark clouds, so we may not be out of the woods yet?

Dang it you beat me to the top today.

I was busy with 21 e-mails and I started from the top and worked my way down the page. Usually i just go to mt cruise meets threads first then back to the others.

Someone just posted that when we return on 11/14 Nasa is suppose to have a launch early that morning. Dont know if its the shuttle or just a rocket. But if its earler than 8:30 a.m. we will try to see it. Maybe catch it on the camera. set it up as video. The ship get into port from 5 to 6 a.m. but even before then we could see if from out to sea a ways.

Guess I will have to get on line the night before and check out Nasa to see if its still a GO and the time. That might be a nice way to end up our cruise


We are still having rain. We get about an hours break between storms so that helps but its sitll cold and wet. It's the wind that makes it so cold.

Our mountains are getting lots of snow which is great for the opening of ski season soon. Luckily none for us so far although Wednesday morning is suppose to be 37 which can make snow if the wind hits it just right

But I insisit NO snow until after we are safely back. I don't want any delays in our flights. We go from Portland to Atlants then to Orlando. But I dont know where our connecting flight is coming from. If its coming from a snowy state it could run late. That would make me mad to be so close but get delayed there for a day.
I wont even think about that.

Hi Kathy,

I looked at Nasa's launch calendar and nothing is scheduled for Nov. 14. There is a shuttle scheduled to launch on Nov. 16 at 2:28pm.

No rain or snow so far today.....maybe it'll go around me?

Woohoo, 5 more days!! Did you find a travel pillow for your red eye flight?

Matt must have read the date wrong or they changed it as they often do.

I did get another inflatable pillow that looks like a horse shoe when inflated. Its much better than the first one. It has a soft cover on it and its washable.
We played around with it here sitting in chairs but its not the same as an airplane seat. So not sure how good it will work. Its only $5 at walmart so I think i will get one more before we go instead of using the half one.
I think if its 3/4 inflated so it has some give to it, that may be ok.

There are some nice looking ones on line but very spendy since I cant see them in person, I hate to put out too much. I may not like it.
If these don't work too good I will look on line and perhaps buy one for next time. This is a trial for our 2010 flight to Barcelona, thats when I really want to have something that works good.


Dont get too excited that snow is just hiding somewhere so when you least expect it, BINGO!! It will dump on you At least it would take one heck of a snow storm to get too deep for you to walk in. I step in deep snow its up to my hips, you step in it and it covers your ankles


Hope everyone is finally feeling good now at your house. Maybe this tiem all the flu's and viruses will stay away for the rest of the season. I think you've had more than your share.


Our rain stopped for an hour and now its back again. At least I got the pups out.

Greg you should hear our news casts lately.

All they are talking about is all the extra cops that the football team(actually the college) is going to have to pay for this weekend.. They say with the game falling on Halloween they just know pranks are going to happen so they are upping their security at and around the stadium.

I cant wait to hear if they are just making fools of themselves or if the college students have some fun planned. After all its halloween
