It's only 2 nights, but a great get away.....always so much going on here.

We're leaving on a playcation for a couple of nights, so not sure exactly what we're having.
I think tonight we might just head to Costco for a hot dog of chicken sandwich.

Tonight I am making penne in vodka sauce and salad. I bought both the pasta and sauce at a farmers market so I’m curious how they are.

I processed my peach harvest today. I made peach jam and peach ice cream.

My pot roast is in. I usually deglaze the pan with a splash of red wine and add in beef broth. Today I dumped in the whole cup. My little guy woke me up at 1:30am and was up for 2-3 hrs. So I think I’m running on fumes.

Sons are home to watch the Pats game and then celebrate my birthday later with my sister-in-law and parents. We're having crumb coated chicken thighs with summer squash and sweet potatoes. DH made two homemade ice creams which I can't wait to try: one is chocolate with candied pecans, coconut, and chocolate covered coconut cookie pieces and the other is peanut butter ice cream with strawberry jam swirl, peanuts, and peanut butter cups. I made a black magic chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Looking forward to dessert!

It is Bargain Bite Day where they have 90 bites for $3. Smaller portions means I can try more

There are also some New foods Then there are my favorites. I may have pre-purchased 6 giant cream puffs and 6 giant eclairs to take home (requests from friends and family). So many choices and none will be good!

Thank you! The ice cream was soooo good! My SIL said our ice cream and cake were the best things she's ever tasted, haha. We started a tradition a couple years ago that we get to design our own flavors on each of our birthdays. This was the first time we attempted a peanut butter ice cream base. It came out great! I wanted to try to replicate the pbj ice cream from Florean Fortescues that I never seem to get a chance to try! It was very nice of the Pats to win for me (wasn't so sure they would pull it off!)

I bought swordfish on Thursday for Friday supper, except we went to happy hour at the local Thai restaurant and stayed for supper. Swordfish was bumped to Saturday, except DH decided to go to a cookout/bonfire at a co-worker's, so the swordfish was bumped to today. You know where this is going; fish doesn't keep real well, and sure enough- YUCK We had leftover Thai from Friday except my one-star hot Country Noodles were too spicy for me to consider, so I had toast. DH had his leftover curry and my noodles. I HAVE to get back on track so we stop grabbing food we don't need and wasting stuff we've already paid for (that was $14 of swordfish into the garbage).
