11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

Yep its a balcony. We usually get a balcony but this year we had decided to save $$ and go for the inside stateroom. But since we are still Florida residents we got a great rate on the cat 7. Of course with it being a GTY there is always a chance of a cat 6 or 4 if they fill up??

I am happy either way:goodvibes

Tell the kids you will let them play Butler and thats a good way to get them to do extra chores around the house:lmao:

We leave on Nov 1 on a red eye flight out of PDX, 10:45 P.M. I think? Cruise is on the 7th.

Gotta love those red eye flights?! :sad2:

I'll have to see if my kids would play "butler"? I'm not so sure they'd fall for that?

Good night.

Didn't realize the date was already here! Wow, you are probably so excited y:woohoo:ou can't stand it.

Hi Dawn! :wave2:

I woke up to rain this morning. It coming up from California so its warming us up....all the snow has melted! :woohoo:

Anyone want to do a Mediterranean cruise with us just before Christmas next year?....the fares are dirt cheap. :rolleyes1

Hi Dawn, nice to see you.:goodvibes

Greg I will send you more rain since you seem so happy about it. It poured all night and is still pouring. They say at least for the next 7 days it will pour rain.:sad2: If it keeps up we may float to Florida;)

I have been burning scented candles to help with the wet dog smell. It could be worse, at least I thought enough ahead to get my boots before the rain set in this year and they are waterproof and are insulated for cold weather too. So my feet arnt getting wet. I hate wet feet, even if we are ducks here in Oregon:rotfl:

Sorry Greg, no med cruise for us. Not really interested in the ports most offer, at least not right now. We may do a 10 to 14 day Holland America cruise in 2011 though. I love the idea of 11 ports in 14 days or 9 ports in 11 days etc...

We are still waiting to hear if the new Disney ship will do any new ports on the 3 and 4 day crusies? I doubt it but that would be nice. Might consider a short crusie if they did that then do something else for a few days.
I think they announce it on the 29th of this month.

Well off to finish my mail, I'll check back at lunch.

Yeah, we weren't really interested in most of the "cookie cutter" Mediterranean cruises either. We chose our ship because it went to Egypt and I've always wanted to see the Pyramids. :woohoo:

HI

Ok question for all fur baby parents: has anyone's dog every had a Urinary tract infection?

I think Jack has one....he has been drinking a lot of water....and he is leaking/dribbling....so I have to put down plastic with towels and sheets over it so he dosnt leak on the carpet.....I have been shampooing carpeting a lot lately and doing tons of towel laundry....I'm thinking of biteing the bullet and take him to the vet.....hoping once I get him on an antibiotic that will end the peeing in the house.

Other than that, not much else is going on here.

Greg: congrats on your penthouse.....

Kathy: congrats on your upgrade.

12 days and I'm heading to Colorado to see Izzy.....
cant wait to go.....I so need this little vacation.

later all

Denise you better take Jack to the vet. It sound slike an infection which means he will soon be in pain when he goes and if you dont get it taken care of it can spread to his kidneys and eventually kill him. Just like a person.

Minnie had one shortly after we got her. I could tell it hurt her to pee and she was going all the time. They gave her some pills and she was better in no time.

One other thing too as dogs get older, they can have incontence problems just like people do. That wont account for drinking extra water but it can account for the dribbling all over.
Plus and I hate to say it, those are symptons of diabetes too.
That can be handled with special food and meds usually.

Good luck, please let us know what is wrong with him.

You want him ok when you leave.

Kathy

Need pixie dust and prayers tonight.
Nurse just called and mom is critical and has been taken to the hospital by my request. Shortness of breath, pulse 116, respiration 99, very flush too but oxygen level is 98%. Not sure if she is low on blood or if her heart is finally giving out.
I finally reached my brothers and one of them has left for the hospital. Mom isnt alone, Denise from Brookstone went with her.

Kathy,

I hope everything goes alright with your mom.

We'll be sending lots of prayers and pixie dust your way. :thumbsup2

Keep us posted on how she's doing.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Kathy and Greg! I really didn't want to have this one--but I have to say it was very memorable! Woke up to Happy Birthday and a "toontastic" card from Christian, and (hold on) Skylar gave me a hug without asking :woohoo:, got the best call I've ever gotten from Elizabeth--she sang me Happy Birthday! She was repeating what her mother said until she got to TO NANA. :rotfl:She had that part down! I need to get on Facebook and thank all my nanafriends on there! Greg, Skylar did tell me you said Happy Birthday--thank you.

Kathy and Greg, I thought I told you guys to keep your s**w out there! We have rain/snow mix here today and it's a cold 34 degrees right now at almost 10 o'oclock in the morning!

Kathy, pixiedust:pixiedust: to your mom. Here's hoping that she can get through this without too much pain. And pixiedust: pixiedust: for you and lots of hugs to help you get through this time.

So is everyone all well at your house now Greg?

Good morning Dawn.

Glad to hear you had a good birthday yesterday! :thumbsup2

Kathy and I decided that we have been hogging the snow and rain to much. We wanted our friends to experience the joy that it brings, so we're sharing. :lmao:

No we're still fighting sickness at our house. Holly has been running a high fever for the past 3 days. We're going to start her on some antibiotics today because I don't think its the flu?

How is your mom doing this morning Kathy?

I'll check in later.

Howdy all,

well it was a very long night. Mom pulled through on her own once again. After a few hours her vitals returned to normal. Her blood level is lower than it should be but not enough for a transfusion.
So it was just her heart slowing down and almost stopping. Then it bounced back on its own. Congestive heart failure can be like that.

My oldest brother went to the hospital and she did know him but she thought he had a wife and kids. Hes never been married, has no kids.
She begged not to go back to Brookstone, even wanting to sleep in the halls at the hospital. Her mind is really bad.
Dan had to walk out and let them move her back and he met her back at Brookstone where they tried to get her into bed. She refused to change clothes and eventually did lay down , but for weeks she wont even go into her room.
She sleeps sitting up on a love seat across from her room. She doesnt shower or change her clothes unless tricked into doing so. Complete opposite of what she is like. She has only been going into her room to use the bathroom even keeping all her valuables with her in small tote bags.

Not sure what kind of night she had, hopefully she was exhausted and slept through the night. Dan (DB) will go there to see how she is doing today and let me know.

I only dozed all night waiting for the phone to ring again. I will try and nap this morning for a bit. Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust. I can really use them right now, so can mom.

Well on to other things. Dawn I'm so glad you had a great birthday.

Greg i'm with you,it would be rude of us not to share our wonderful weather with our friends. I hate rudness so I am all for sharing.;)

We are foggy and cool this morning and of course rainy. We are suppose to have some clearing this afternoon while waiting for the next storm to come in and dump rain on us again.

can't remember if i said or not but we got room 5640 which is a Navigator verandah for next months cruise. it is aft which we love and its on the correct side of the ship we like for looking over the islands when docked.
So we are happy about that.

Time to go,
will check back soon,
Greg you get that baby to feeling better soon, you guys have had way more than your share of illness. Time to stop and all be well:thumbsup2

Good morning Kathy!

Glad to hear your mom pulled through! :thumbsup2

Go catch up on your sleep and we'll try and keep our thread off of page two while your napping.

Yeah, once sickness hits our house its hard to get rid of it....keeps circling around! :sad2:

Holly doesn't seem to be acting better today.....I guess we'll see how the day goes?

Later.......

Afternoon all:

Kathy: Glad your mom is doing some better.....sorry to hear about her tho....
prayers for you and your family.

Dawn: Sorry I missed your Birthday.....sounds like you had a good one.....Plus having Elizabeth sing had to be the best present!!:lovestruc

I took Jack to the vet last nite.....he does have urinary incontience...so he is on medication. hopefully that will help his dribble and leaking problem and my house will get back to smelling better. After the first does of med last nite he seemed some better....not a huge wet mess this morning....will see how he is when I get home....:scared1: He could still be a disaster....

Just a cold and drabby day here....

Hi Denise,
I am happy you took Jack to the vet. I know animals as they age get alot of the same problems older people get. Thats why they have doggie diapers too.

If the meds dont help enough for the hours your away you might consider a diaper just during the day while your gone.
Hopefully the meds will do the trick.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Well I never got my nap. I tried but it just didnt work.
Guess i'll sleep good tonight.

Mom had a comfortable day today. No shortness of breath but as usual a trip to the ER sets her back a bit more mentally.

They finally started her on a new med for her mind. Hoping to calm her a bit. Its not a sedative and wont make her groggy or sedated. Hopefully will make her a bit less aggitated. It takes 2 weeks to really start to work.

So I am keeping fingers crossed it does. I would love to get to visit her at least once more if possible.

WellI am off to do the dishes,
catch you all tomorrow,
Kathy
