Nice pics Kathy! Those are quite the cakes!

Not much going on here. Janel is going over to Boise on Thursday with Chayce and Nicole to watch the Ducks play football.

Brayden and Holly are staying with me (they would never sit through a football game) and the 3 of us may take off and head to Lake Powell in Utah. My brother is there with his family on their house boat and he invited us to come down and stay with them until Monday.

They did a great job on the cakes......believe me, I'm not a baker so I know that if I tried making thoes, the hamberger cake would look like the volcano cake... so how did they taste?

Denise nobody will ever know how they taste unless they ate a bit while making them. You deliver the cakes 4 days before the fair starts for judging and they stay for 10 fair days, so they are at least 14 days old. At that point you can take them back or tell them to trash them.

I don't think anybody wants to eat a 14 day old cake that is sitting out in a hot building

I just read Disney is starting a new tired system which will effect the booking of the new ships. Up until now I never really thought the ship would be sold out but it seems the new ships are going to be very very popular. I can't wait till the announce the new ship itineraries next week. I just hope the maiden sailing is way before our cruise.

I just read Disney is starting a new tired system which will effect the booking of the new ships. Up until now I never really thought the ship would be sold out but it seems the new ships are going to be very very popular. I can't wait till the announce the new ship itineraries next week. just called DCL and this is what they said-

The 3 levels are:
Silver- 1 to 5 cruises-same gift-90 day window to book excursions, Palo, etc

Gold- 6 to 10 cruises- little extra gift (ex flowers or chocolates)- 105 day window to book excursions, Palo, etc

Platinum- 11+ cruises- little more extra gift (ex free night at Palo)- 105 day window to book excursions, Palo, etc

The Gold and Platinum members can book the Dream first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Ok people i need some help with ideas for fish extender gifts for my upcoming cruise. I am tired of the giving the same old things.

Who has some ideas?
I would like to make something myself but I am not very clever. So I need some ideas.


I will have the chance to go to a craft store this weekend after visiting my mom but wont have alot of time even then.

So lets hear some good idea for kids or adults. PLEASE!!
It doesnt matter if its home made or bought, any ideas will be appreciated.

Well Kathy I guess this means since you are the "platinum" you have to tell them there are nana's only on the silver plan, but yet we need to sail together and they need to hold cabins for us..... but since the ship is larger, we still should not have a hard time booking what we want.....
I hope....

Christine: I agree with you about the maiden voyage, I would prefer not being on that ship...still getting the "wrinkles ironed out" I would prefer smooth sailings

last year at the Castawy club meet the Captain did say when the maiden voyage was because Captain Tom will be the Dreams Captain.
I can't remember the date but I know it was well before the traditional bananahead cruise because i remember us talking that at least they would have the kinks all worked out on the ship by the time we cruised on her.

Greg will probably remember the month . I will ask him when he gets home tonight and let you know if he remembers.

As many DCL cruises as Kathy has been on she's dang near paid for the construction of the new ship!

Good morning all,

hey this morning on the news they said the Disney Wonder rescued a man at sea at 12:15 a.m. today.
He jumped off his balcony off the Carnival Sensation according to witnesses.

He had been treading water for 90 minutes before they found him. Dr. said he was ok other than being tired.

That was a miracle to spot him in the dark in that dark ocean and waves.

According to this article after returning to PC this morning he wanted to get on the Sensation this morning for next weeks cruise

There is NO way Carnival will let him cruise their line again after jumping ship.
Too much bad publicity.
No reason listed for why he jumped but my guess is he was drunk!

Well we have lots of beautiful sunshine this morning but it was cool last night.

Suppose to be 70's today then only 60's and rain for the holiday weekend.
Glad i didnt have outdoor plans this weekend.
Greg will be ripping out the entire bathroom in my moms mobile home and remodeling it for his mom when she moves in soon. She wanted a safety shower so its safer for her. But this small old bathrooms dont have much room so he has to remove the old tub and set the toilet over a few inches and to do that he has to move the cabinets over a few inches then redo the cabinets above the washer , dryer area too. It will be along weekend for him.

Next weekend he will remove the add on room on the back and build alarger one for her. Then the next weekend he will put on a new roof and move her in over the next 2 weeks.

Of course while he is doing all this I can go and see my mom each day, so it will work well for us. It has been hectic getting the last of my moms stuff out and then remodel, and start moving MIL in. We had to leave just enough for us to sleep there which will be removed at the last minute.

Greg will need a vacation after working all week and all weekend too.

So now that you all now my holiday weekend plans,

what are you all doing, accept Greg, he said what he is doing.

Saturday going by Sue's for a bbq
Sunday out to dinner for my birthday
Monday bbq at my house with son & his girlfriend and their dog...(jack will be happy to have company)

I have a house showing tonite.....so I was cleaning last nite....

Nothing else going on right now.

Trying to see if we can get tickets to see Jersey Boys......I heard it was soooo good.

We don't have any plans yet. We have a couple of friends who both have birthdays on Saturday. One of them may have a pool party if it warms up some.

We did think about going somewhere, but so far we have not made any plans.

Right now, a long, relaxing weekend sounds pretty good!!!!!!!
