11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

Greg I will let you know how St. Croix is. I love seeing new places.
Our excursion gives us a 45 minute ride across the island, then a walking tour through a historical area then another ride back to the port. So we will get a good overview of it for a first visit. When we tour a fort I may leave Greg in the dungeon is he is arnry as usual:lmao:

Good night all,

Kathy

Yeah, take lot of pictures too!!

Janel and I having been trying to decide which excursions we're doing on our cruise in March. With 8 islands its proving to be difficult to decide what to do on each island?

We'll be visiting the Dominican Republic, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Barbados & Nevis.....ever been to any of these islands?

Hey Guys!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Things have been pretty crazy around here for the last few weeks.

Had to replace some staff at the office, Cassie started college, Savannah and Cierrah started back to school this week.....

It's hard to believe summer is over so soon!!!!:sad2:

Well it's about time you showed up Mister!!
I was beginning to wonder about you;)
Cassie in College, no way!! Boy your giving away your age with than:lmao:

Hope you will have time to stop by more often now that things will get settled with school started.
Our schools start the day after Labor day.

Later Kathy

Greg, telling me to take lots of photos is like telling a kid to eat candy. You dont need to say a word. I always take hundreds of photos on a 7 day cruise. If you think back when ever you saw me, even at dinner i had our camera with me. I drive Greg crazy with taking so many. Later he is glad i did.

We havnt been yet but we are scheduled to go to Tortola in 2010 on our TA cruise. We hope to see those other places one day.
There are 2 14 day Holland America cruises we have considered for the near future. One has 11 ports in 14 days the other had 10 ports in 14 days.
All but one stop were new to us. If you figure they consider the day you board as 1 day and the day you get off as another day that leaves 12 days and either 10 or 11 ports, thats almost 1 a day.

So I expect a good report from you when you return on Tortola so we can use our time to the fullest when we are there.

Today is cool and expecting showers later today.
Havnt been feeling too good this week, so i am not sure if Iwill visit mom or not. I dont want to expose her to anything. Greg and i have been passing this thing back and forth for months now. Its not really bad, you just dont feel right and you feel like you need to GO all the time. I know too much information:lmao: So your not really sick like a virus or flu.

I will see how I feel tomorrow and make a decision. Then Sunday we are having a day to go to the State fair and i have the dog sitter to watch the dogs. YEAH!!! I have to see the grandkids decorated cakes they entered this year. I hope they all get some sort of ribbon of recognition. Most of the time kids do.

Hope you all have a great weekend. I will be back late sunday. I want to see this thread with lots of posts to read when i return.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been MIA...it's been crazy trying to work with the girls home:goodvibes Schools starts in 2 weeks so hopefully I'll have a little extra time then.

I hope everyone is having a great summer!
For those who went on the Nana cruise last year do you have any suggestions for the ports of call...we finally decided to book the Western for Halloween and plan to book this one onboard:goodvibes We want to keep the excursion cost down as we decide to splurge and get a cat 6 room this time instead of a cat 12:cool1: I wish I knew my room number but could only book cat 6 GTY.

Thanks!

Awww Jamie...had we known we may have switched ours. We came close to booking the Oct. 31 this year instead of the post-Thanksgiving date but ultimately kept our booking. For a western, you can do it VERY cheap especially with kids. Key West - not a lot to do with kids. The aquarium was pretty cool (touch tank, sharks, etc) so we just walked over there on our own. Grand Cayman - we did not get to the island last year due to weather but we were planning to just head to 7 mile beach. There are several spots that rent chairs etc. Disney does an excursion but it is SO much easier to just take a cab (a few bucks per person) to Seagrape or one of the other beaches and just rent chairs for the day. 7 Mile Beach is like Castaway Key except cleaner, calmer, clearer and warmer. You can snorkel right off the beach. Cozumel, we LOVE LOVE LOVE Paradise Beach. Very cheap. You can buy the "bracelets" for $10 a person that gives you access to all beach toys but if you don't want to do that and just want to swim in the ocean you can do it for virtually free - just buy some food and drink (which is also cheap.) Great salsa. Great quesadillas and cheap beer. This is our plan for our western this year!

Jaime, so happy to hear you are coming in 2011:banana::banana::banana:

Does your cruise end on Halloween or the 7th of November?

We will be getting on the Magic on the 7th:thumbsup2

We may be getting on as your getting off??

I agree with Jeff KW is easy to just walk around on your own.
We also did the pirate museum but your kids may be too young to be inerested in it. you can also walk to the Southern most point to take aphoto by the marker. It is a beautiful walk to their.

Grand Caymen you can grab a taxi to the turtle farm. The kids might like that and it doesnt cost very much. Cant remember exact amount as well as beautiful beaches.

Cozumel, Cant think of any real kid friendly places accept beaches like Jeff said.

Off to moms,
back on sunday,

Kathy

Evening all:

So anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

I dont have to much planned....working till noon tomorrow then going with my friend Jay to his company picnic...Sunday to visit my dad. That's about it. Weather here has been a little on the cool side and rainy. Last nite we got down to 60 degrees....but boy did I sleep good.

Have a good weekend all...

Denise

Thanks Kathy & Jeff:goodvibes

That's too bad Jeff it would have been nice to have been onboard together again! I am very excited and haven't decided yet how to suprise the girls. Kathy we'll be passing eachother...we get off on the 7th...staying at the AKV for 3 nights before the cruise and 1 night after.

Hi Denise:goodvibes no real plans here...just finshing booking a wedding group to Mexico. Have a great weekend!

Jamie got me looking at excursions and now I am curious as to if anyone has done the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel. Looking at that as it seems like a fun one.

we did Jeff, but the one we did got a little rowdy...nothing I would want the girls to see...I do believe the tequila flowed freely..

Hi Jamie!

You can save a lot of money by doing your excursions on your own. In Cozumel I did para-sailing for $40 and the ride lasted almost 30 minutes. I also did para-sailing through Disney at Castaway Cay and it cost me $80, but I was only up for 3 minutes 21 seconds?!

Kathy

Yeah, I guess I don't need to remind you to take lots of pictures! :thumbsup2

You'll have to let me know which HAL cruises your looking at because we've been looking at them too! I almost booked a 14 day cruise on HAL for our cruise in March, but they aren't the best for kid's.

There must be something going around? Holly got sick on our vacation and ended up in the emergency room in Orlando. She was only there overnight, but the bill was still almost $3000!!...good thing I bought vacation insurance! :worship:

Once we got home Janel, Brayden and Nicole all got sick.....so far Chayce and I are the only ones immune to it. :confused3

Hope you get to feeling better. :thumbsup2

I'm headed to bed. :faint:

Afternoon all:

Not to much going on here. Its really a nice day out here today....sunny but a little cool.....so windows are open and airing out the house.

Back from my dads, now working on :laundy: somehow that is one thing that you always have to do:rolleyes:

Ok I'm going to try posting a couple of pictures of Izzy.....

izzy8-09237.jpg

the pic is a little blurry, but this is one of my favorites of Izzy....she look's so much like Heather when she was a baby

izzy8-09202.jpg

not the best picture...but notice the outfit!!!!:)

I hope an extension of only 700 feet is enough to alleviate the overcrowding at the family beach. If the new ships hold 4000+ passengers.....I have my doubts? :confused3

I thought is was funny that most all the other cruise lines including Holland America have got water slides on there private islands for the kids, but Disney is just now getting one?

Hi Greg:

Just a couple of days....I got in late tuesday evening around 8pm and left Sunday afternoon..... (last week) heading back end of October....

They should have had the slides....I agree....I also think they should have slides on the family and adult pools (on the ship)......just cuz were growin up dosnt mean we have to act like adults!!!
Hoping they add this to their new ships.
