Happy 4th Everyone! A lot of the Nana's are in Gatlinburg, aren't they?

My computer crashed and burned a couple of evenings ago. I fooled with it for most of yesterday and couldn't get it to move so I did a recovery system on it this morning. Working! Of course, I have to go back and update everything. You computer geniuses. It won't let me install IE8 because it can't find a link in a library file?? Anyone know what I can do? I haven't had problems before...

Everyone is probably gone by this time...

Happy Birthday Jeff tomorrow and have fun on your weekend.

Kathy and Greg enjoy with family.

Allison, haven't seen how your vacation was?

We'll go out to David's tomorrow for fireworks and a BBQ.

Hey Dawn! Nope, not in Gatlinburg yet. We don't get there until this coming Thursday!

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!

Colorado company offers banana coffins
By CATHERINE TSAI – 1 day ago

DENVER (AP) — Casket makers catering to natural burials have offered biodegradable coffins made of such materials as recycled newspapers or cardboard. Ecoffins USA, based in Montrose, Colo., is selling caskets made of banana sheaves.

They take six months to two years to biodegrade.

Marketing director Joanna Passarelli says the company sold $40,000 worth of banana-sheaf or bamboo coffins to funeral homes last year.

At least 14 funeral homes around the country offer them.

"We either get an, 'Oh, my,' or, 'That's very interesting,'" Passarelli said. "Some people think it's a great idea. We've had funeral directors look at them and say, 'I guess you can go to hell in a handbasket now.'"

In natural burials, bodies aren't embalmed and eventually decompose into the earth.

Ecoffins USA is the sister company of The SAWD Partnership, which has helped fuel the "green" funeral movement in the United Kingdom.

Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home and Crematorium in Franklin, Ill., has sold one banana Ecoffin since it started offering Ecoffins in the last several months.

Stephen Dawson, owner and president of Sax-Tiedemann, said it's not that far removed from the woven baskets funeral homes used in the 1950s and '60s to pick up bodies from hospitals and nursing homes.

Passarelli contends the bamboo and banana coffins, made in Asia, are better for the environment than the cremation process.

Her interest in ecofriendly coffins grew after her son's school showed the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" in which Al Gore warns of climate change. Her son came home wondering why he should bother with homework if the world would be destroyed.

"I said if everybody did one little thing it would have a snowball effect," she said.

Howdy,
back from moms.

Had a great visit with her.
The 4th was very LOUD at her place which scared poor pixie . She was like hyperventilating and shaking. twice she tried to pass out on me and I rubbed her and got her back. I was really scared she was going to have a heart attack and die from fear which can happen.

I laid on the floor next to her in her hiding place until close to 1:30 a.m. The noises stopped about 12:30 a.m.. She ran to the end of the hallway and laid down then so I fell asleep. In the morning I found her huddled up in the little bedroom. Minnie stayed close to her just starring at her.

No matter what I said or did she wouldnt budge until Greg got back from spending the night a this moms house. Pixie didnt go to the bathroom for about 14 or 15 hours. I couldnt get her to drink or eat either.

She is fine now but I am exhausted and both dogs andGreg are sleeping and I am doing laundry.
Hope everyone elses 4th was better than mine.

Then while reading trip reports I saw dozens of complaints about both ships. Food was terrible, service was horrible. People didnt complain to the head server like they should of for the most part and return the meal if its no good.
What ever the problem is, I sure hope they fix it before this cruise!!

Gotta go and relax, back tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July,
Kathy

Denise,
my DD's dog must be related to Jack. He loves to be out when the grandkids are doing spraklers and stuff. He wants to fetch the sparklers while they are lit:lmao:
One year he jumped and got a lit one, burned his mouth but he didnt seem to mind. His tail was still wagging and he wanted toplay more. So now she keeps him on a tight leash on the 4th but out where he can see the kids do their fireworks.

Hows that beautiful grandbaby doing? I'll bet she is growing so fast now and probably looks totally different. When ever you get a recent picture please share with us. I love seeing all the photos.

Going to fix salad, chicken breast and baked potato for dinner tonight.
I have tons of fruit for dessert. Its so much cooler today, 70 . So I feel like cooking for a change. Been in the mid to upper 90's lately so cold sandwiches has been all I have done or McDonalds;)

Oh YUCKY!!!!
I just looked at the tire by the door as the dogs and I came back from a walk and theres a squished snake or chipmunks head sticking out.:scared:

The tires are sitting on 2 boards and have not been moved for a few weeks, so how even a snake could have crawled under there to get stuck is impossible to do. The weight of the RV is on those boards. It looks like a snakes head because it is pointy a little bit but it looks like it has hair like a chipmunk and i'm NOT getting down close to look good at it.

That is for Greg to get rid of after he gets home tonight,. He loves those kinds of surprizes after working hard all day:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
