11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

So yesterday I was looking through my docs and had it at work. My co cruiser and best friend Stacie said her booklet doesn't look as thick as mine. She then started looking through it and said she didn't have a few of the things I have and we both have exactly the same type of res. She said her's is missing the info on the hotel, the tip sheet, flight stuff and something else. She took mine home with her and compared them. Weird. So we are calling about them today to find out why.

I can answer that for you. If you have done the online check-in prior to them sending out the documents you get the "abbreviated" version. If you have not done the online check in you get the full version including the entire cruise contract. I was confused by that once before.

Thats really wierd. It does not sound like they are real consistent. I know after our very first cruise, only about 1/2 of us received CC cards, and even they showed up at varying times. I just found it odd as to the irratic timing.

I got one CC card and a cd that was broken when it arrived. I called them and they said they'd send me another. They never did so I called them again. Again they said they'd send another. I still don't have it and that was 3 years ago. Hello? DCL? I'm still waiting................

If I remember right, the CD was a bunch of Island music and a maybe the ships horn?? Either way, Come November 22nd (three short weeks away), you can embrace yourself with the island sounds of DCL in person.

OK. Talked to DCL. They did call about meeting onboard. She told me that any food or beverages requested would not be complimentary and we would be charged. The room however would be no charge.
The time is from 2:30 to 3:30 and will shut down at 3:30 due to the lifeboat drill. Treva is putting the request in to DCL and will call me back as soon as she has secured a location. The count is still 100 people.
So everybody eat before and bring your drinks with you! I did tell her to send a drink cart down and we would charge individually.
Lora - bring your own chocolate!

She is not authorized to bump me to a suite. Damn.

I checked my iGoogle "Days until Disney Cruise" countdown 3 times this morning. It still says "22 days" until I leave for Florida...

I feel like a bottle of soda, and every day is one more shake, and I just need to make it 22 more days without exploding!!

We should all be well full from the buffet by 2:30. Though I still doubt I'll be able to make the party. Our friends are supposed to get there about that time.

The shirts are Gildan brand, lime green, preshrunk 100% cotton (they still shrink a little once they are washed). They are very generously sized.

Adult
Small: length is 28', width is 18"
Med: length is 29", width is 20"
Large: length is 30", width is 22"
XLg: length is 31", width is 24"
2XL: length is 32", width is 26"
3XL: length is 33", width is 28"

Youth
XSmall: length is 20.5", width is 16"
Small: length is 22", width is 17"
Med: length is 23.5", width is 18"
Large: length is 25", width is 19"
XLg: length is 26.5", width is 20"

Cindy has generously had t-shirts printed for anyone that is interested. I am trying to send the design over for all to view but until I can figure it out here's the info:
Sizes are printed above.
The cost is 12.00 each plus shipping. The same holds true for the shirts as for the bracelets. PM Cindy from the DIS boards and let her know the number of adult or youth sizes and your shipping address if you want it mailed. Cindy has a postal scale at home and can calculate postage if you want them mailed. She is also willing to bring them with her and give them to you onboard.
Stacie will be adding this info to the website as well.
I'll try to get the design on a post asap!

2005 was a good group and yes I was in some of those pictures...and as I recall, back then, there was audience participation on stage for the Pirate Party too...it was me Lampy, Willie, Dougie and John from the 5 J's, oh and Andrew.
