11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

I've saved all of ours from previous cruises, but I doubt I'll use those. I plan to be there early enough to get a two anyway.

One pass per family - who knows but there may be some extras floating around as the same people are likely to get fresh ones this year.

Two reasons - one is that we will be there well before 10 a.m. and will be one of the first people into the lot...if need be, I drop Lisa and Mason at the bus unload area and then I wait with the car across the street...we know the system...then we get to use the Castaway Club line which is shorter and faster.

Second reason is that not everyone throws away the old cards which tend to be the same on successive trips.

Susan, to answer your question: No the gift does not have to be wrapped. The grab bag will take place at our DIS Meet.

Brianna is feeling great today and will be back in school tomorrow. She tried to get out of going to school for the rest of the week, but it's not flying with me.

They hand out boarding group passes from group 2 to about group 10 or so...they have a specified amount of each number, my guess is about 50 or so but that is strictly a guess...when they run out of 2's they move to 3's etc...

And it is not really cheating the system since we will be there for the first group anyway...

Shel, so sorry to hear about your dog. I know how heart breaking it can be to see our fur babies sick. Hope he/she is feeling better soon.

Need to see if there is anyone that is staying at the Hyatt the day before with a car OR if a Floridian can help. I would like to buy our own water and a bottle or two of alcohol but will not have a car to get anywhere. Would anyone be interested in helping a girl out????

Oh and on my last cruise we got a 1 as we were in a cat 3! Funny how I am on the opposite end of the cats this time.

I sent you a PM with the web site address but I'm not sure if you'll get it. Keep posting until you have at least 10 (I think that's right) posts then I'll send it again.
Meet is on Saturday at 3pm. Haven't heard from DCL about a meeting place yet but I'll post it as soon as I hear from her. There is also a gift exchange if you want to participate. Teresa is coordinating that. It's very simple. Put a gift in, take one out. Average cost I believe is $5.00.

Okay, so this news wasn't as awesome as the news I had about Brianna yesterday, but it's still pretty good news for me.

You people are starting to make me feel guilty (and a bit lazy) for not doing the FE's. But so far, not quite guilty enough to get my butt in gear to do anything about it.

Shay are you flying over? If you have a car, I would pick up diapers, etc at Publix in Cocoa Beach. What time do you plan to arrive at the port?

We are driving over. We plan to get there between 10 and 11 a.m.. I was thinking of shipping the diapers to avoid taking up space in my car or luggage.

Okay - We got a package today but I'm wondering if I'm missing something. We booked with DCL but then transferred our ressie to DU to take advantage of the OBC. Today's package included luggage tags, a checklist brochure, and a "your travel booklet." The first page in the travel booklet says "mailing information" in the upper right corner. Here's the big question - Shouldn't there be a boarding pass/ticket in the travel booklet, or does that get sent separately through DU? I'm not ready to panic yet, but so far, I don't have anything that looks as if it would allow me to board the ship.

I just got our docs back out, and we don't have a boarding pass either. We're booked directly through DCL. I noticed the information in the booklet is quite different this time than it was the last time we sailed. I'm guessing that maybe that first page that says mailing information is the boarding pass because it lists our reservation number with a barcode as well as our guest ID. I'm just guessing though.

I'd love to help yinz out but my docs haven't arrived yet. That may be because they're still upgrading me to the W.E.Disney Suite.
There is a msg on my answering machine from DCL. DH just told me! I called them back about 10 minutes ago but they won't be in until tomorrow!!!! I have no idea what this is all about....... Maybe I am getting that suite after all!
We're taking the bus from AKL to the port so I have no idea what time we'll get there. I would guess around 1. They'll be so done with boarding numbers I'll be able to walk right on!

It's killing me not knowing! And DH may die a slow and painfully agonizing sufferingly long death tonight for not telling me sooner! He knew when he came home from work at 4 and just remembered at 8! Because they asked for me he didn't call them back. I would have been on the line immediately, disguising my voice if I had to. I would sleep with one eye open if I were him. The Chinese laundry person may make several visits in the middle of the night!
I will call them starting promptly at 8 tomorrow and will post as soon as I know anything! Arrgh.
