11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Yes, we will!

As of now (we're definitely rebooking while onboard in THIS Thanksgiving) we're torn between Thanksgiving 08 OR, December 27th (just two days after Christmas 08.) I love doing the double-dip at CC, yet would love to be onboard the Magic for New Year's too. Oh, decisions, decisions!

I was torn between Turkey Day 08 and New Years too, but the price pretty much made the decision for me. It was almost 2k more for New Year's and I don't think it had a CC double dip. Besides, being on the Magic for Turkey day will relieve me of all the family stress of the holiday!

I agree with you MeanQuean! We looked at booking for the Christmas/New Years holiday as a surprise for our kids, but we were the ones that were surprised when we looked at the prices! Then, I discovered the DD over Thanksgiving and was sold! I'm also thrilled to death thinking about being away for the Thanksgiving holiday! I can't wait for someone else to prepare our turkey dinner!

I think I read here that they offer lobster for dinner that night, so I may have to skip out on turkey for dinner. Maybe I'll do it for lunch instead.

Hi, all................only 7 more days till we leave for WDW/Orlando and then onto the 7 night Eastern we have been waiting for since we rebooked last DOUBLE DIP NOV, 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be gettin' in that line with the rebooking lady early in the cruise to see what she has to say! Last year, when we waiting towards the end, it was a huge mistake, as the line was soooooooooooooooo long and DCl could not accomodate for the amount of rebookings! They were totally caught off guard and were very appologetic but it was kinda' a sore spot for many people.

I have already heard from my TA that your Double Dip is almost booked out solid so we will see what we can get!

I hope I can stomach the price difference between a regular 7 nighter and a holiday cruise. Doesn't it also matter that our DD is 10 right now and she'll be 11 next year? I think they start charging substancially more after 10 yo.

I hope I can stomach the price difference between a regular 7 nighter and a holiday cruise. Doesn't it also matter that our DD is 10 right now and she'll be 11 next year? I think they start charging substancially more after 10 yo.

I thought they didn't charge more until 13. I could be wrong though.

Wow, I feel like I fell of the face of the earth! I have not been on DIS for months it seems!

I can't believe we are almost at the 1 yr. mark!!

What are everyone's plans for this turkey day?? We are staying her in MA...just the 4 of us! We will be visiting family in PA and NJ for Christmas and decided to keep this one quiet. I am honestly looking forward to the peace and quiet! (as quiet as my house gets with 2 9yr. olds and 2 dogs!!)

We're going to WDW for Thanksgiving and to celebrate my grandfather's 80th birthday. I'm planning a small feast for this weekend so we don't miss out on the meal.

We just returned from the 11/3-11/10 Western and while onboard I checked with Leslie at the rebooking desk about the price for this cruise now. We originally booked this cruise in February and the price has gone up $1000 and she told me there are no Cat. 9 available.

I sometimes go back and check at the DCL website what our cruise would cost if we booked now. There are no Cat 9s left so the nearest Cat 8 is now $2000 more than what we are paying. I make sure to show this to my DH.

Less than 1 year!!! Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

I was checking yesterday for how much this cruise is now, the website kept giving me an error. I called this morning and they told me it was sold out.

Guess that we're the lucky ones. No dried out stuffing for us next year!!

ETA: I just got off the phone with DCL again, its not sold out but cat 4, 5, 6, and 7s are left.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! My DS had to have surgery on Wednesday, so we've been hanging out around the house. I did manage to get up at 3:30 this morning to go to Wal-Mart. My husband keeps saying he's going to laugh when we go to Wal-Mart in a week or so and all of the stuff I went to buy this morning is still there for the same exact price.

I have told my kids every day since last Friday where we'd be and what we'd be doing at this time next year. I hope the next year goes by quickly so I can have my DCL fix!
