11/14/09 - Special Western - 2 CC stops

Hello everyone!

Our family is double dipping with all of you.

We would love to join this thread to get to know some fellow cruisers and to find some pals for our kids DD14 and DS10. Our kids would love to get to know some penpals before setting sail. This is our 4th Disney Magic cruise and second double dip. Double dips are the best!

BTW, our DS is also 10, but will be 11 at cruise time. He will be spending time in Ocean Quest (and probably Quartermasters Arcade if he can get away with it). This is our second Disney Magic cruise. The first was with extended family (14 in total)... this time will just be the four of us. I am sooooooooo looking forward to 2 Castaway Cay days!!!

The girls have been on another thread - I posted on it the suggestion that if they wanted to exchange information that you parents would hook them up with the private board for our cruise, so their chat wouldn't be open to the general public to view. (safer, imo)

Well based on my last question you can really tell I am FE rookie. I am glad you guys told me how long it takes to deliver. However, I can wait to see how everyone's door is decorated.

I need to stop the madness. I've come up with lots of great ideas for FE gifts (mind you I'm already making a good one IMHO), but they're all beyond my budget (so far). Remind me to tell you what they were when I see you or here after the cruise (maybe someone else can use them).

This is the first cruise that I've heard of FE, so I'm really getting into it.

Will there be a summary of what's happening as we get closer to the cruise so I don't have to kill myself looking through all the pages (I won't make the meet on day 1, so how/when/where will I get the mini-nav?)? I know there will be white boards on each deck.

PM = Private Message. To send someone a PM, just click on their screen name next to one of their posts. One of the choices will be Send This Person a Private Message. Click on that to bring up the PM screen. You must have 10 posts before the system allows you to send a PM.

Whenever you want to remind yourself of the what all the group activities are, just find one of my posts and click on the link in the bottom line of my signature. That will take you to the post that summarizes our activities. I don't know what the procedure will be to get the mini-nav's out to those who aren't at the Saturday DISMeet. Perhaps Elderfam or mrp can comment on that.

Holy Cow! The Mic got so mad at me he cut me off! No more OBC, no rebates, heck, he won't even talk to me anymore. His latest email called me a trouble maker (well not exactly, but these words are at least printable). It turns out he still holds a grudge against me, over a bet we made a long time ago (& he lost). Not only is he holding my arm hostage, but he's threatening legal action for writing about his secrets. Now even with a legal team like he has, I know he's bluffing because then his favorite machine's existence would be publicly revealed.

In an attempt to appease him, I've agreed to stop posting these rumors(?) on this thread. He didn't reference our Pre-trippie, probably isn't even aware of it, so I'll be posting these updates over there. Of course I'll still be here also, just less confusing.

Right now I'm working on a deal to get my arm back. Do you think Mickey might be interested in a trade for his tail?

Great to have ya with us! As Becky mentioned, there's a link in each of our sigs to the summary of activities. I also have a link to the Secret Mickey "rules" if you want to participate in that. And yes, you cannot PM until you have 10 posts. So say lots on here! Or you can use the email in my sig to send me an email asking for access to the workbook and for the link to the private site. Just make sure you put something like "Double Dip Data Request" or something referring to the DD. I get hundreds of emails a day and don't want to accidentally delete it and then you think I'm ignoring you. And do mention your DISBoard name in there so I'll know it's you.

As for that tail/arm trade, dear.... he's been without that tail since sometime in the early 40s. I figure he's probably gotten over it. But then again, he might like it for the archives if nothing else.

Another lovely day in the neighborhood. Finished the Fish extenders, guess I have to go back to work on the FE gifts. Woobie, I know just what you mean - I could basically fill everybody's FE myself, there are SO many terrific things out there. And quite a few of them *will* show up in our fe's, I know from experience. lol

I can tell you that they will be available when you pick up your lanyards. I will be handing out lanyards Thursday and Friday nights from 9 - 9:30 in the lobby of the Residence Inn Canaveral. I will also have them with me at the cruise terminal starting about 10:30am near the TV across from the giant ears.
We have not discussed beyond that how best to get them to everyone. I am wondering, if maybe one family who is staying at each of the different hotels the night before would be willing to hang at the pool and hand them out to their fellow disers staying there??? Otherwise, if you want one a week prior, PM and for the price of a couple of stamps, I will be glad to mail one to you.

Wow you are just so accommodating! Thank you! Personally, I could either wait until we're on the boat at the dismeet, or you can just post it digitally and I can download it from somewhere before we leave. What's the easiest for you?

Also, I was looking at the spreadsheet and there are 1's by the FE column for the cabin, but there were no numbers for # of adults or # of children, if folks can help review that out so that we can use the counts at the top of the page (for those of us doing individual FE's), that would be awesome!

Mini Nav - another one that would like to pick hers up at the DIS meet as I (Gail holding on to her nose so it doesn't have the skin rubbed off) will be right there hiding behind Linda.

Made it home without any problems - other than boredom as that is a really long drive. You know how when you go somewhere it takes FOREVER to get there and then you get home really quickly. This trip is always the opposite for me - quick getting to my parent's but slower than slow getting home.

I have to admit, trying to catch up with all that is going on here is like trying to take a drink out of a fire hose. It's going to take me some time to figure it all out and I doubt I'll get completely caught up but I'll try.

Can ya tell how I'm feeling about this? So maybe you'll be a bit forgiving of my cockiness tonight. I start on the first of September. It's gonna be tough for a while because I'll be coming home every weekend (King Charming has quite the firewood he has to sell). And while we're trying to save up some money for the cruise we'll also have to be saving for deposits and stuff.... but .....
