Wow! Thanks for all the welcome messages. You certainly are a warm and friendly bunch.

I have to admit, trying to catch up with all that is going on here is like trying to take a drink out of a fire hose. It's going to take me some time to figure it all out and I doubt I'll get completely caught up but I'll try.

Can ya tell how I'm feeling about this? So maybe you'll be a bit forgiving of my cockiness tonight. I start on the first of September. It's gonna be tough for a while because I'll be coming home every weekend and the guys will all be here for a while (King Charming has quite the firewood he has to sell) (oh my heavens... what is my house gonna look like when I get home on Fridays?). And while we're trying to save up some money for the cruise we'll also have to be saving for deposits and stuff.... but .....

I'm moving to Orlando!!!! I got the job!!!!!

Okay... I know I'm only supposed to use red for cruise related stuff.... hope you can forgive me.

I would like to let everyone know that the Lanyard Team is now full and closed.

The response was just amazing and I would like to once again let everyone know that enough money was donated for us to order the lanyards (the part that hangs around your neck....) that will say " Magical Double Dip Delight"

Please make sure to add your information to the spreadsheet or make any changes that may be needed. I will be pulling information for the lanyards from it. I plan on making lanyards for everyone listed on the spreadsheet over the age of 5. If you and your family DO NOT want lanyards just drop me a PM and I will make a note.

I forgot to mention it in the interview but I did mention it to the recruiter on Monday and he said with this much notice it shouldn't be a problem at all. Yippeee!!!!!

If you haven't got your night before ressies, may I suggest you get them? I tried since April to get in the Radisson for the previous Friday night and they're all booked. Couldn't get in to the Residence inn, either and ended up at the country inn and suites.

BTW, thank you all for keeping me sane here. DW and the kids have been away on vacation for almost three weeks now, and although the peace and quiet is nice, it is getting very lonely. Unlike KC's dogs, my two cats are just not that into pool, darts and poker.

If I was really keen, I'd go out and start picking up the kids' school supplies (they start back on the 31st of August here), but "she who must be obeyed" has a stash of leftover stuff from last year and I haven't a clue where she put it (story of my life). Sooooooo... I wait until she gets home and do the last minute scramble thing.

At least I'm more or less ready for the cruise...

Well, it's gonna be interesting as we'll have to be doing both at the same time. KC's gonna stay up here for a few months so at least that means I don't have to get something right away. But I've started looking (because that's just the type of Type A person I am).

I'll have pretty regular hours. I still need to work on this project and get it to as complete a point as I can... ethically I need to do that. But it's even harder to stay focused when there's so much going on.

On a good note, however, I did get the fish extender out and started getting that repaired (stitch witchery didn't hold up to the stuff going in the pockets last time... that's okay... a staple or two from guest services worked just fine). And I've got some mental planning done on what the adult FEs are going to be (already know what the kids' are gonna be... .then there's just the problematic teenagers ).

I'll be doing programming for a small company (I'll be employee #13). But I did a lot of question asking during the interview and these folks actually use a process (something that was painfully missing from my last place) and all the other project management stuff I've learned over the years. I'm very, very excited and I think I'm really going love the place. I got along great with the 3 folks that interviewed me and they seem to have really liked me too. And they loved it when I came up with a 13th solution to the querying problem they have everyone solve.

Hey... what is it with the number 13 here? Maybe it's time for me to finally go ride the Tower of Terror, huh?

OK, so here's a question for you veteran cruisers...I'm starting to think about the 75-day booking window that's about to open. Do I need to stay up and be among the first to book if I only want a couple hours of Flounder's and maybe 1 spa treatment? (I might surprise DH with the Rasul ) Or could I just get up like a normal person and book them the next day...will anything still be available? We're not doing Palo or any DCL excursions. Thanx for any input!

Calsmama, if it were me, I'd sleep in. You can still book spa treatments and flounders on the ship, too, if you miss on line.

Sounds like a great place for you, Denise - clearly 13 is your lucky number!
