Pretty much all the major carriers are booking November now - American, Continental, Delta, NW, United, etc.

I'm waiting for Southwest to open, which probably won't be until June or July.

Can any of you tell me which rental car companies have offices at/near the Port? I know that Budget does, but I'm wondering about Alamo and maybe National.
I've been checking them out and Budget seems to have the most favorable reviews, is closest to the port and has great prices! We usually use Alamo but will be trying Budget this time!

Thanks. That's good to know.

Avis is also near the port and they have pick up as well. We have used them in the past and will again prior to our Nov. cruise. Be sure that you check mousesavers.com for discount codes, whatever rental company you select.
As far as Budget goes - they are inside at MCO if you are picking up there. I don't know about Avis - we are picking up at the Hilton by DTD.

Any of you have a ds that will be in the 10-12 age group?? My ds is looking to make a friend or 2 before the cruise.

:thanks: for the info on the spreadsheet. I have up dated it. Now I can get started on the FE's. Separate the girls from the boys. Then bag them by age. You know the girls out number the boys.:cool1:

:thanks:again Kim :wave2:

Is there a spreadsheet somewhere that lists families, staterooms, kids & ages?

If so, can we please be added?

We are in 7530 & have 1 son who will be 9 at sailing.

Thanks!!

I know, I know, I know... it's been forever since I've been on. I get up at 4am and start looking over news to include on my website. Then the next thing I know it's after 6am and I've got to hurry up and look at the site and make sure everything's okay and then get the news headlines out on twitter and facebook and by that time it's 7am and it's time to wake the family up. I can't do it at night because the early morning is the only time the house is quiet and I can concentrate!

I'm sorry guys... I just wanted to make sure you know I'm not staying gone for days at a time by choice. I used to check the board several times a day but then the boss found out I was on the 'net a lot and, well, they tend to frown on that, you know?

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: My DH works for Nortel - has worked there for over 20 years. This morning they filed for bankruptcy protection. Right now I am shock.... I know he will not have a problem getting a job elsewhere but one of the first things we need to cut may be the cruise.... Come hell or high water, we are still going. I may try and find a job (but will need to cover daycare) or sell a kidney (just kidding) but I will not miss out on this vacation......

OMG! First thing I thought is oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo we can't lose Binky!!! But then I read on and found out it's all gonna be okay. Whew!!!

We (me, dh & ds (almost 9) are also booked on the Nov '09 Double Dip!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

So great to have ya!!!!

Hyper Mommy,
I have forgotten how to send you an e-mail!!

Sure! Just send it to me at hypermommy@comcast.net

My dh snores worse then a freight train....and I should know as we live 1/2 block from the train tracks-LOL :lmao: So we have to have 2 rooms. We cruised on RCCL's Sovereign in '06 and he kept us all up every night with his darn snoring!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That sounds like me and KC! Well, him, I guess. People have told me that I snore but I reFUSE to believe them.

"I would like to play with your 7-year old girl and your 8-year old girl." Allison (DD) asked me to type this. Loveysbydesign - My DD kept looking at the photo signature because she wanted to know what her "cruise friend" looks like!

Oh, this is sooo cute!!! Y'all don't forget to send me a PM so I can give you the link to our private (sort of) website. It's not behind any kind of firewall or anything but unless someone knows where to find it or sits there aaaaaaaaaaalllllllll day long watching packets, they're not gonna find it. It's a place that I think is safe for us to share pictures of our kids and talk about them by name. I also have set up sections for each of the kids clubs so they can get to know each other over there too. It's also a great place for us to talk about excursions we're gonna do so maybe if several of us are planning to go to the same place we can discuss it and maybe share costs of things like cabs and such. Hope to see ya over there soon!

It's amazing what they remember...oh btw I submitted at the double dip site for approval this morning!

Let me know if you have any problems. I know I don't get on often here but I do try to make sure I skim emails at least once a day and I have my PMs here set up to send me an email when I get a PM.

I finally created a ticker! I am excited and had to share :o)

Cool!!!!!

I LOVE your ticker! How do you make one?? Thanks!!

I actually would like 2, as we are 24 days away from WDW! (OKW) :yay:

You lucky dawgs!!!!

Any of you have a ds that will be in the 10-12 age group?? My ds is looking to make a friend or 2 before the cruise.

I have a 13 year old, but he'll be at the teen club. But if your son is looking for someone to swim with or something they could get together maybe. I have a 15 year old too but he's probably just going to stay at the Stack playing video games. They're both over on the private boards if your boy would like to contact them.

Is there a spreadsheet somewhere that lists families, staterooms, kids & ages?

If so, can we please be added?

I created a google docs spreadsheet. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll be happy to give you access. pirate:

Okay, I think I'm caught up! LOL I'm so happy to see so much activity on this board. I can't believe we're at the 300 day mark. I have a ticker on my FB page that says we're currently at day 301. I can't believe it's about to be only 2XX days!!!!!!!!

Happy Saturday - one more out of the way before it is our turn. Nippy here - 12 below and it's supposed to snow all day.

Guess I will do a bit of cleaning today - starting with the laundry. The hamper won't close any more so I guess I need to deal with that. Just never ends. And good old Walter is shedding so I guess the vacuum needs filled, plugged in and run.

Stay warm and have a great weekend.

Hi Gail! I'm working too, but in the office. Checking on my two favorite web sites while eating a sausage biscuit from Macky D's.

Welcome Dishy 24! My DD (30+), Sister (what's the abbreviation?) (50+) and me (55+) are also looking forward to the double dip. Chatting with our cruise friends helps keep it real when the cruise is so far away. I borrowed this great picture from a trip report for my wallpaper. I thought I would share. But... I will have to wait until Michelle can show me how. Something to do with photopail??:rotfl:

I don't reply often, but enjoy lurking, I especially enjoy the weather reports as we have it relatively nice here in central Texas.

TTFN!

-Vicki

Will be sailing with DW and DS who will be 4.

How do you book a return rental car. Going from MCO to port is no problem, but coming back if I put the same date pickup and drop off date in , I get no, cars available. But if I put in pickup Sat and drop off Sun, I get a list of cars.Do you just do it that way and then return the car the same day anyway?

Also FYI, currently the shuttle is scheduled to launch Nov 12, so instead of going down 1 day early, may need to go down two or three days early. I am sure this can and will change, maybe to Nov 14 at 4pm?

:welcome: comet1! Happy to have you with us.

Car rentals - which agency are you using? Budget? We are taking the DCL bus so we don't have to mess with luggage and airline checkin. I guess saying that you will return on Sunday isn't an issue.

On the last load of :laundy: Now to find the vacuum cleaner.

yes I was looking at Budget. Is it normal for it too be more expensive port to MCO, compared to the opposited direction. I was using codes from mousesaver?

does anyone know when flights usually become available for airtan. I always like to try and get direct flights, and they are one of my two choices from Milwaukee. Midwest is my other option, but with everything that went on with them last year, I am having my doubts they will still be flying come Nov.

I can't say that I ever checked to see if rentals had the same price port to MCO or MCO to port but I can also say it doesn't really surprise me either, so long as it isn't much I guess that it is what it is. Did you try Avis? That is who we are using from WDW to the port when we go on the 7th.

Can't help with Airtran - we don't use them. I know enough that they don't release at the 11 month window that many airlines do but after that - I am useless.

Did you check into DCL transportation? Since they now check you in for your airline and take care of your luggage from ship to port (no messing in customs at all with your luggage) just walk through and onto a bus. It is worth the price difference to me not to have to mess with luggage and check in. And I think that Airtran is one of the airlines. We used it on our October cruise and I am sold.

Welcome, Comet!!!!!

:welcome: party:

Glad to have ya join the party!!!

If you'll PM me your email address, I'll send you a link to our spreadsheet where everyone can track who's got what kids, where everyone's staying, etc., etc. And remind me in the PM to not only give you access to the spreadsheet but to our (sort of private) board where the kids can get to know each other and we can share pictures and excursion plans and all that good stuff.

Great to have ya onboard!

And thanks for the info about the shuttle. Definitely will have to keep an eye on plans for that as it's something I'd LOVE to see!
