I have to say that I definately agree with all the previous posters when thay say try to hold out for the cruise as it is so much more relaxing than a stay at
WDW. That was the one complaint my husband and I had about disney world while we where there. We were spoiled on our cruise as we had great family time all together and with a quick walk to the oceaneer lab, Dave and I had quality time as a couple:lovestruc Unless you stay at one of the higher end resorts at disney that includes a kids club it is a hassle to take your child to a kids club for some alone time:sad2: That is why this year we are scrimping and saving to try and do a week at disney followed by the make mine a double cruise!  Hope we will see you all on the cruise but of course you have to do what is right for your family! Good Luck!:wizard:

My dh says perhaps we should do a 4 day Disney cruise instead...but I really don't want to give up the SPH rooms I tried so hard to get!
We're in one of the SPH rooms too (5520)! What stateroom are you in? Maybe we're neighbors??

It seems like everyone agrees that the cruise is more relaxing. On our first trip, we made the mistake of doing 3-day cruise followed by 5-day at DW. DW is a long day for DD(4 at the time) and she'd only last about 5 hours. We have DL annual pass, so DD thinks it's normal to just visit the park for 3 hours a day... not know how much DW ticket costs! We also stayed in a condo where we ended up cooking breakfast and dinners. Not relaxing at all. We kept wishing we were back on the Wonder. On our second trip, we skipped DW altogether and just did the 7-day Eastern.

Travelbee we are staying in 5020 which we haved stayed in before. Tried to get "your" room for a change of scenery but you had already booked it! Just happy to have a SPH for this cruise!

Hi all! I'm baaaaaaack! (everybody, quick run! It's that crazy lady again!!!)

Thought I would share that we just experienced a heck of a jolt (earthquake) out here is Southern Cal! Nearly knocked DD7 off my bed while we were reading. And the first thing I wanted to do is check in with my cruisin' peeps!!! Yea, I know, I've lost it all together!popcorn:: Stay tuned for more after-shocks! Anyone up?

Not at all crazy! We're glad to know you're okay!!! Man, I don't know how you deal with earthquakes. I know we've got hurricanes and all but with a hurricane you get SEVERAL days warning. I've always said that if you live in Florida and don't pay attention to the weather reports during hurricane season then you deserve to find yourself slap dab in the middle of one. For the rest of us relatively sane people, we watch the weather and if the storm's heading our way (and is bad enough) we head NORTH! Of course, "bad enough" depends on where you live. We're inland so it'd have to be a kickin' storm that's going to make landfall at Appalachacola (sp?) before I head north. For the rest of them storms, we just have hurricane parties. You have enough drinks you don't even really notice the wind.

See... that's what you miss with earthquakes is the parties!

Seriously, I don't know how you deal with it. You're just going about your day and all of a sudden the solid ground isn't so solid anymore. It's trying to do it's own "party like it's 1999" thing. I couldn't deal with that at all - the lack of warning and everything!

Glad to know you're okay.

Hey Hypermommy... Do I need to redo the spread sheet once our shore excursions are figured out?:surfweb: There is so much to do and so little time. :scared1:

I've been thinking about the spreadsheet. I don't think I can use the form to have y'all resubmit info or change anything so I'm going to have to ask that you change it directly in the spreadsheet. I don't believe the spreadsheet addy is public (the form was but I don't believe the spreadsheet is) and I don't want to make it public because it has kids' information on it. So how about this.... send me a PM with your email addy and I'll send you the link to the spreadsheet. Then you can update it as many times as you want. And even if you PM'd me previously for access to the private forums, send me your email addy again because (as you're probably well aware) I only have 3 brain cells left and it takes all of those to keep up with King Charming and the two Eating Machines.

You are more than welcome to design something :worship: :worship: Would we each print off our own?? I'm not sure how it works.....

We are NOT going to Universal (TG!!) but will be visiting DW instead

Good for you not going to Uni!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As for the shirts, I love Gail's idea of using CafePress. I don't know if they'd have a problem with the design being as it's obviously Disney and might have copyright issues, but I say we give it a shot and see what they do. I already have a cafepress account so I'll set up a new shop and get something in there. I believe you sent me a full sized copy of the logo before so I'll see what I can do. It'd be cool if we could personalize it too (i.e., put our family name underneath) but don't know if that's do-able. Actually, it's do-able (yeah, look... I've only had half a cup of coffee so you're getting stream of consciousness writing on half a cup... deal with it :rotfl2: ) because I could re-do the design with each family's name. Maybe. Lemme see what I can do and I'll report back in a few days.

Well, happy Saturday all. Drew is home (for his anniversary with his GF) and he has a haircut shortly so I best get hopping if I want to ride along.

Which hair did he get cut?
(groan)
(hey... half a cup... remember?)

Noticed a few of you are staying there. Have you stayed before? How are the rooms? We are going to MK on Friday but since it closes early due to the Christmas party thought we could just drive down and eliminate the hassle in the morning. Did you get a good rate?

Of course, King Charming will have to answer on the rate. I thought it was good but you know how he is at watching the pennies. My job is to spend them (and I'm VERY good at my job). But I was quite happy with the room. It was a nice big, what I call business-class room because almost the only time I've stayed in rooms that nice was on business trips -- we're All Stars/Pop Century/Motel 6 types of hotel patrons. The pool was very, very, very nice! Here's some pictures that might help.

But I don't know about driving down. What time are you thinking of leaving the party? I know with us if we're going to pay $40 for something we're going to stick it out to the very end. And remember it's like an hour to drive from WDW to the port. But as to the hotel, I was quite pleased.

I have something special that I am working on - one per cabin - can't tell you - TOP SECRET - SHHHHH!!! Although I can be bribed with an alcoholic beverage....

It's supposed to go down to -31 by Friday - can you even imagine?!?!?!? Time to pull out the extra woolly long underwear!!

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

OMG, -31!!! And I'm worried about EM#2 going camping because it's going to be 19 this weekend!!! (although I think he's decided not to go) -31???????? I didn't know the numbers went that low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a dear friend who has decided to stop cancer treatment (it's a very sad ending to a long 5 year struggle) and I was feeling down on Friday. I told my DH when he came home from work and he said "Geez, so I guess I shouldn't consider cancelling the cruise..." (And I'm thinking to myself "Like, what??!?!?!?). I'm frantically looking for even more things around the house to sell to add to the cruise fund so that not so much $$ will be due in August.

Oh, how sad about your friend! There'll be lots of people rallying around her and her family and of course she's in my prayers, but so are you and if you need to vent or chat or whatever, please, please hit me up on FB.

What is DH thinking????? Actually, I know what he's thinking. I can't believe how much it costs, but it does and so the money just has to be raised, that's all. I'm going to start putting some things up on eBay myself. Just have to find some area of the house that's clean enough and de-cluttered so I can take pictures of the stuff that I want to sell. Now let's see.... maybe we should start with the xBox or KC's tools. I'm sure they won't miss them............ <evil grin>

Ha, ha...it's nice to know that we're not the only one's struggling!

Not by a long shot! LOL I like loveybydesign's idea of selling at the local craft gig. I'm going to try doing that myself, I think. I just have to find out how much it costs to have a booth and see if it's cost effective. Of course, I'd have to make sure they have electric too because I'll need my printer if I'm going to produce digitally scrapped pages and mattes and such. But it might be worth looking into because every little bit will help, right?

This is going to be a bittersweet post for me. It looks like a strong possibiliity that we are not going to be cruising with all of you wonderful people. Financially it just makes more sense to do the 4 for 3 promo they are having now thru May at WDW. We have never been and it is MUCH (thousands) of $$ cheaper than the cruise. And there is SO much fun stuff to do with 2 little princesses.

I understand completely and totally and I'd probably make the same decision. Now, with that said...

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I'm being totally selfish here!!! What about my hugs!!!!! Did I not leave enough 'naners and such for MiniMary and MicroMary? Oh, my girls... I'm not gonna get to see my girls.... booo hooo hooo hooo hooo

Maybe if I leave more now that'll change things.
 :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc

Okay, okay... let me pull myself together.

Give me some time... it's gonna take me a minute. I'm all verklepmt!

Okay... I think I'm okay now.

Actually I do totally understand. It does make financial sense to have a fantastic vacation for thousands of dollars less. But it is definitely so different from a cruise. But then again on the other hand, I understand because I'm totally jonesin' for the parks too.

Decisions decisions... don'tcha hate being a grownup sometimes?

Hey... lotto... you're playing lotto right? Maybe you'll win and can do both? :cool1:

My DH works for Nortel - has worked there for over 20 years. This morning they filed for bankruptcy protection. Right now I am shock.... I know he will not have a problem getting a job elsewhere but one of the first things we need to cut may be the cruise.... Come hell or high water, we are still going. I may try and find a job (but will need to cover daycare) or sell a kidney (just kidding) but I will not miss out on this vacation......

Thanks for letting me vent - it's going to be a tough day ....

Hi fellow cruisers!
We (me, dh & ds (almost 9) are also booked on the Nov '09 Double Dip! We awill be in Stateroom # 7530. I hope these next 10 months pass quickly! We booked this while onboard last February. I can't wait for TWO stops at Castaway Cay!!!

Hugs from Michigan! I am concerned that the company I work for will be filing for protection as well but we have been assured that if we do we will all have jobs.

WHOOOO!! Why is my signature so HUGE???

OK- I fixed it-- much better!

That could just be a restructuring approach to everything. Many companies are doing that. Most likely it will be fine. Just don't let your imagination get going today without any concrete details.

We're in 7558 and 7560 - just down the hall. We'll have two 9 year old girls as part of our crew.

This is a fun group - be sure to send Hypermommy a PM to get the address, etc. for the Double Dip Website.

Cheers,
Lisa

Thanks!! More details are coming out now - the federal gov't has announced that they will not let them go under and yes, you are absolutely right - they are restructuring. It was just a bit of a shocker to start off my (VERY COLD) day!

Thanks again for the :grouphug: !

Hyper Mommy,
I have forgotten how to send you an e-mail!! Can you instruct me???:confused3
I know, I am not really good at this.
I'm glad you are feeling better.
Thanks,
Barbara

Welcome Dishy24...we are all completely obsessed with the planning and having a great time chatting it up! Happy to have you and your family with us!

Sounds great! You will love having two rooms...don't forget you bungee cord for keeping the doors open...
My dh snores worse then a freight train....and I should know as we live 1/2 block from the train tracks-LOL :lmao:
So we have to have 2 rooms. We cruised on RCCL's Sovereign in '06 and he kept us all up every night with his darn snoring!!!!
