If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were my cousin. Her name is Linda, lives near you, and has a mad skier husband. :rotfl2:

Woobie, maybe I AM your cousin. Didya ever think of that? :thumbsup2

Just had to share this. Emma and Dottie dressed for chapel day at school today.

Becky, your girls are JUST adorable!

I have seen several talking about the number of books they're bringing on vacation.

If you travel regularly, you might want to look into an electronic reader. I have the Sony version (the Sony Reader). It's like a Kindle (except it doesn't have internet connectivity). You can add a memory card to it and it will hold a TON!! Mine currently has 20+ books (including Passporter's Guide to the Disney Cruise Line, of course) and several hours of mp3s. The battery lasts approx 8 hours (tested and confirmed in June). It's light weight and very easy to use.

Actually, mine regularly ends up in my purse, especially if I know I'm going to have some downtime during the day. it's much easier to deal with then the books I used to lug arround!

It sounds like a great idea BUT . . .at the rate I 'misplace' things, I'd much rather lose a $10 book than a 300$ electronic device.:rotfl:

I like to read and listen to my Zune poolside. I already worry that someone will walk off with my Zune, that would make two pieces of electronics to worry about. And then there is DH's camera! It is so hard to be careful and trusting, all at the same time.

Well, one more week of work out of the way. Yippee. I still feel like I have sleep to catch up on - don't have to get up tomorrow so I think that will be just the ticket.

Take care everyone and have a great evening!

Is anybody else having a problem finding luggage large enough to hold everything (without going over the 2 per person rule) that doesn't cost as much as a mortgage??
I want to put clothes in it, NOT LIVE IN IT.:headache:

Check out http://www.ebags.com. They are having a sale right now. If you buy from them, start at http://www.bing.com/cashback, and sign up for a bing cashback account. Then go to Shopping and Stores and click through to ebags. You'll get 20% cash back on your ebags purchases. :thumbsup2

Based on my experience, if you have a suitcase bigger than 25" and fill it full, you will probably exceed the 50 pound weight limit. We all have 25" bags and don't have a problem with the weight limit unless DD wants to bring her rock collection. :rotfl2:

We're driving . . . a van . . . with stow and go. . . NO limit! LOVE IT!

If you're worried because DCL only sends two luggage tags per person - don't. If you show up with an extra bag or two, they'll just give you another label. Those port porters are worth their weight in gold!

Good Night, all!

Becky.. your girls look so nice all dressed up!

I was thinking about buying a kindle before we left but did not know anyone who has used one, hmmm we will have to see? Last cruise I did not read much but with no kids this time, I am sure I will be able to.

Hope all is well with everyone, and nobody else getting sick! It also snowed a bit here today, but it all melted. Can not believe how fast winter creeped up on us!

Well good night all!

The girls go to a private Christian school. Every Thursday they attend Chapel, so there is a special dress code for Chapel Day. Girls must wear dresses/skirts and boys must wear dress shirt, pants, and tie. Now that I think about it, it's the school's version of Formal Night. :lmao:

My kids go to a private Christian school too, and their chapel day is Thursday as well! They wear uniforms, though, so their chapel dress is one particular uniform combination.

Helloe everyone,

Any guys post to this thread?

Just wondering if any of the men smoke cigars on the cruise? I am hoping to enjoy a few if possible.

Last time we cruised, I spent a lot of time in the comfy chairs outside the Cove Cafe with my cigars. I understand that the smoking section is moved to the starboard side, I hope they moved those chairs as well.
After dinner, i usually have a cigar on the veranda as well.

My husband smokes cigars (depite my nagging) ;) Maybe at the meet someone could announce a place where cigar enthusiasts could join up :smokin:

I have a question if someone could help please. I read on another site that the hairdryers are not very good and that you should bring your own. I really do not want to bring one. My daughter and I only use one on vacation to dry our bangs. Do you think the ones in the staterooms will be good enough? We use the ones in the resorts and they work just fine. Thanks for the help.

I am not a cigar smoker but I can tell you about the hair dryers. I am someone that brings her own but, if I only had to do my bangs, I would use the one there as you are correct, it isn't worth the weight and space in your bags for only that area. The hoses get hot on them so be careful but again, just to dry your bangs I think you will be fine.

We did not get a veranda on this cruise since my 2 year old is a climber.

They used to allow smoking in the lounges, which was a good option in the cooler evenings. I agree with DCL's decision to stop that as the ventilation system in the lounges were lacking.
Grand Cayman is a good spot to pick up Cubans, stay away from the cigar shops in Cozumel.

I think KC mentioned having a semi-official DisMeet the evening after Grand Cayman to enjoy cigars. I think he said that Cubans are legal to purchase there but have to be enjoyed before the end of the cruise? :confused3

If you're renting from Budget - you might check your rates! I was able to rebook for $5 less yesterday! :woohoo:

King Charming (Hypermommy's DH) is also a cigar smoker and is planning a cigar-smoking night on Deck 9 on (I think) Tuesday night.

Woo-hoo! Got my FE last night. It looks awesome!

I also came back to the office today to a mickey mobile my coworkers made from Disney paint chips, beads and plastic lacing. Too awesome! What a nice reminder of a great trip!

Hope everyone is doing well - thanks for posting those pictures!

Hi Double Dippers,
I had been pining for some type of e-book reader as well - dropping all kinds of not so subtle hints to my DH. Unfortunately, the Kindle won't work in Canada and the Sony reader was big bucks. So he bought me a netbook which is smaller than a notebook laptop but still has all the same capabilities. I've been able to download all kinds of books to it from the library and it has an 8 hour battery as well.

It doesn't weigh very much and will easily slip into my bag - it is totally awesome!!

Time to put the kidlets to bed - they had the day off school today making it a 4 day weekend. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian cruisers.

Cheers,
Lisa
