Thanks for the info!! I was wondering when I needed to book our excursions!?
First timers on Aug 23rd (glad its a saturday!:surfweb: ) !!
Can't wait!! not too long to go now!

OK, midnight Eastern Time tonight is when reservations open for shore excursions and Palo for our WONDER November 6th sailing.

Hope you've got your choices figured out, and maybe even made a "Wishlist" on the My Cruise Details section of the disney cruise website. A tip I learned from here on the Dis boards - if you are logged in, and at the strole of midnight try the reservations button and you seem to be locked out, just LOG OFF the cruise site, then log back in. It seems to be a finicky site, and sometimes that happens.

75 days - wow, that'll go fast!

i think we dont pay it til the cruise itself, can someone confirm this?

Thats the way I took it when I booked online. I assume the will charge are excursions to our stateroom.

Glad to help - I had to log in and out on each of the 6 linked reservations, since I'm the impromptu "cruise director" for our extended family trip. The DCL site asked me to rate their service. I told them they should consider the option of making one reservation the "master", and allow access to any linked reservations, and also display all the reservation details of the linked ones i a grid. It would've made my life easier:surfweb:

Palo's booked for my party of 12 Sat. night (piecemeal, but 'm pretty sure staff will iron it out for us), and the eco-tour for Castaway Cay. Anyone else have some great plans? Any advice  re: Nassau, we've never been there.

Yes, payment is added to your room charges, just be sure to cancel early if you change your mind - they MAY charge for a late cancellation.

which tour is the eco tour? ive just been on disneycruise's website and i cant figure out which one it is. sounds good anyway!!
we were going to go scuba diving in nassau but changed our mind, going to go have a walk around the town instead, never been there before so going to go sightseeing!

Karen -
I nixed SCUBA on Nassau, too - too much time, basically.
The eco-tour is you on either a single or double WaveRunner, the group follows a guide around various areas of the island in the ocean, and they explain flora and fauna, etc. Lasts about an hour. Another couple on our last cruise tried it and raved about it.

we really wanted to do the scuba diving, but for our first time in the bahamas, a 5 hour excursion didnt work out for us! especially as most of that 5 hours isnt actually diving, its so far away that most of it is driving and boating to the dive site. its a shame they dont do a closer shorter 1 tank dive because i'd probably have done that.
the eco tour sounds great, weve got the walking/kayak excursion booked but the eco tour sounds like the same water based bit but on a jet ski, way more fun!! have read one report about the kayak thing, do you know if theres any reports on here about the eco tour?
really looking forward to the cruise now, its getting close!!

We are joining your group a little late - hope there is still room! We were originally booked for the following week's sailing and DH had a work conflict (there's always a conflict, isn't there???). Anyway, we had some MAGIC worked for us and we are moving our trip up a week earlier! Cool! I don't care when we go, as long as we go!

It's time to meet the family! DH, 40; Me, 36; DD, 6; DD, 3. I noticed another family with daughters of close ages and would love to "chat" so please reply! I am still a newbie to DIS boards and cannot post. I need to work on posting, don't I?!!!

I have sailed 6 or 7 times, DH and I have sailed a couple by ourselves and this is our second 3Day as a family. I wanted to try the four day, but it was hard to find a decent rate available. So, I agreed to another 3 day if he would let us book a 7 day for 2009! And, we have a reservation already - just waiting to see if the onboard booking will be a better price! THey released 3 7 Day sailing dates for FL residents earlier this week for October 2008 so maybe they will have some super deals for next Fall! One can hope!

We are looking forward to hanging by the Mickey Pool, spending an evening at Palo's and most importantly, a day at Castaway Cay! If they ever have Castaway Cay as a DVC option, we're signing up! I just love it there!!!

How many days left until we sail?????? I could be packed tomorrow! Who else is with me?!

According to the count down clock on my night stand, we have 59 days , 10 hours and 28 minutes, but who's counting. Of course that's until the 5th when we fly down to Florida. And, yes, I'm ready to pack!!!

We've done the Eco Tour on a previous cruise and it is a BLAST! You can go pretty fast on the Jet Skis and it's very cool to be out in the middle of the ocean and driving past the ship. Wear lots of sunscreen. DH and I got pretty burned while we were out there with the reflection from the water.

Do any of you past cruisers have any experience/knowledge of the dining waiting list?? We booked back in February and literally I had gone to book online with Main Dining available only to have to page keep timing out...in the 10 minutes that it took to call a reservations agent, only second dining was available. The agent said she would put me on the waiting list, but more importantly, if we had a medical "need" to eat at the Main dining, then get the medical info. form submitted and that should take care of it. So I've submitted the form and I assume from my reservation experience, we have to be pretty high on the list...but we're still waiting.

I've called Disney only to be somewhat belittled by the agent and I've also emailed reservations to be told I'd be "Added" the the waiting list!!

It is all just very frustrating with less than 60 days to go.

Just wondering if there are any secrets out there anyone can share??:worship:

Hi everyone,

We just booked a day at Atlantis for the Nassau day, not through the ship though. Following a suggestion on cruise critic, we booked with the choice property adjacent to Atlantis - you get wristbands that will give you access to all of the standard Atlantis amenities which is almost everything except the dolphin swim, etc. Our kids are very excited about the aquarium features and the water park.

Hope all of these hurricanes wrap up soon!

Hi, all!

I just booked this cruise for my Mom and I for a mother/daughter trip, thanks to the FL Resident Rates!

This will be my fourth Disney cruise (been on 3 & 4 nights w/DH and 3 kids and another 3 night just DH & me), but my Mom's first. I am looking forward to sharing all the great things about DCL with her.

Has anyone thought about doing a FE gift exchange? We'd participate if one was organized. Just a thought!

Looking forward to a meet and meeting some other DIS'ers on board!

Rose (38) and her Mom, RoseAnne (62) :)

part of me would love to do the FE exchange but dont have a FE, and dont really have the time to make one! think we should figure out a way of recognising each other in the terminal though so we can say hi to each other!

Instead of making fish extenders since time is short. I had another idea, I saw so many Disney Halloween bags out today. We could just hang one of those (they have the handles to hang by), just a thought if we decided to do it.

:cheer2:

As for the FE's, I've seen pictures of other cruisers using tote bags or gift bags decorated with stickers/iron-ons/etc. So, even if you don't have an actual FE (which I do, but it's personalized w/my DH and kids' names, so I'd have to alter it a bit to accomodate just me and Mom), we can still do an exchange.

Depending on the size of the group, you can choose to do just one gift per cabin or one gift per cabin per day. Again, just a thought!

I'm looking forward to the cruise and spending some time alone w/my Mom. I'm hoping that we can book an early dinner at Palo on the Nassau night then double dip dinner in the dining room. The show the 2nd night is Toy Story, which I did not like at all last cruise - It just didn't have that Disney "magic" and we're going to skip it.

Now as for Disney Dreams and the Golden Mickeys, they are must-sees for us. Happy planning!
