**@@** 11/06/2008 3 day WONDER **@@**

yay, more people!! this is our first cruise too, cant wait. its annoying me though cos i cant share the excitement with DH yet cos i havent told him about the cruise yet (its going to be a birthday present, so have to keep it a secret for 2 months!!)

Glad to find you guys...we'll be first timers...doing the land/sea package. It'll be our first time to disney with the kids (DD -5, DS -3) and our first cruise ever. Very very excited...we're on deck 6 (don't remember the room #) in a cat. 6. A little nervous about the balcony with the little ones, but I think all will be OK. Trying to work the waiting list...right now were at second seating and my DD will need to eat at 6pm. She's on the autism spectrum..very high functioning, but can get a little stressed if too overwhelmed...but from what I hear, this will be a great trip for her (and all of us!)

Can't wait!!:rotfl:

Sorry it took so long to update here.
I was away, and then returned to some major home renovations, but I'll try and catch up.

Welcome to pddmom, Belle26, and karentan! It's great to finally see some others on this (short) Wonder cruise.

And I'll be adding some more - we're adding in my folks, for their 60th anniversary, as well as my daughter (24), another couple, and their (27-yo)daughter- a dis-lover like us.

momtotanmanandraerae, the DCL Houseparty was a marketing deal . We received a box of DCL-themed items, and were asked to host a "party" for prospective cruisers, showing them our photos/memorabilia/etc.. There was a whole thread on the disboards about it. It seemed quite successful overall. I know it was in our case - Like I said, I now have another couple and their daughter on this cruise based on what they heard from us, and there are several others who have booked or will be booking cruises based on what they heard from us.

Looks like a NJ group - 'cause it's Teacher's convention days off ?:rolleyes1

And, karentan, we'll keep your secret - our October 2007 cruise I kept from my DW from when I booked in March until August! And I booked this one while onboard - and just told her on Valentine's Day!

So, keep reading the disBoards for planning help, and I loved the Passporter book for it's help as well. I'll try to check here more often, the distraction of renovations should be lasting another month or two.

only got 2 more weeks to keep the secret!!!

Count me in!! Doing this cruise as part of the land/sea package!! My mom and I's first cruise ever!! I'm beyond excited!!! We'll be in a cat.12 room (I'm a cheapy:teacher: ). Dont know my room # yet. Booked it a year in advance!!! :thumbsup2

Hello!

We're booked on this cruise too! DVCers who were SHOCKED to find out that WDW is almost sold out for that week! We're doing our first Disney cruise and very excited.

Traveling with DH and DD (8) and DS (5) from Jersey (naturally!)

Greetings, we've got a small group here so far, but my own group just grew by two more, to 12. FIL and his SO in Florida booked yesterday.

I expect there'll be a heavy NJ crowd - for those not from the Garden State, that week in November always has schools closed at least Thursday/Friday due to a state-wide teacher's conference. NJ families love to travel then:laughing:

I am still thinking about this cruise. Trying to keep everybody happy. My daughter is a teacher (in NJ -so she is off as noted). She wants to go on an RCCL cruise out of NJ. My son, daughter-in-law, and grandson are saying Disney. We all went to Disney (land) last year during Jersey week and had a blast. Guess I had better decide soon if this is really almost sold out! Karentan- are you the person I was talking to on the roll call on the CruiseCritic site? Marie

hiya marie!! probably was me on the cruise critic site, thought i'd cover all bases and post on all roll call sites!!!

ken, the surprise went great, thanks for asking!! i sent it to him at work to cheer him up, i got a really excited phone call, and we watched the dvd that night, he cant wait now!! only 6 months to go!!

My fiance and I will be on this cruise! It's our first one ever and we are super excited. We will be on our honeymoon :) Everyone here seems very friendly! I'm sure as the months go on I will be asking all you cruise vets many questions... be patient with me ;) Talk to you all soon!
Steph

Hi, my family will be taking this cruise. It's me Christine, dh Tony and 2 dd 13 and 10 and our ds 7. It is our 3rd trip on the Wonder. My sister and her family are also going. We are celebrating my sister & her dh 10th wedding anniversary. I can't wait! Oh yea... we are from Jersey.

Welcome, Steph & Chrissy. I think I've added all names so far to the first post for easy reference.

I noticed that you have Saratoga Srings in your signature. My fiance and I will be staying there during the resort stay portion of our trip. I was just wondering if you could give your opinion on the transportation to and from this resort in relation to the parks. I know its probably the most remote location and I've heard both good and bad things about the buses. Do you have any suggestions or advice? thanks :)

We are going to be on this cruise also. It is our fourth Disney cruise. It is a present to myself for my birthday (the week before on October 31). My daughters are Samantha, age 9, and Ally age 8. My name is Doris and my husband is Danny.
We will then be staying at the All Star Movies for 3 nights and Animal Kingdom Lodge for 3 nights.
I think, from what I have researched, that I have a secret porthole room. It is #5020.

Welcome, Doris. I've added your info on the first page. We've got a growing group here, and we're getting closer to November.

Has anyone NOT booked airline tickets, and are now finding ridiculous high fares? Any bargains still to be had? I have to book my sister from Las Vegas to Orlando, and she's not happy with the fares I've been finding.
I just tell her to be glad I booked her cruise earlier, and she's not subject to the new DCL fuel surcharge.:bitelip:

I gave up on flying. We are going to drive the 18 hrs. I would prefer to fly however with a family of 5 it's just not going to happen. I'm also not too impressed with all of the airport delays that have been happening lately. ( I know that driving is a much larger delay in starting my vacation, but I feel more in control.) Plus if we drive we stop in Savannah and go to the lady and sons to eat. We've done that 2x so far and my sister is looking foreward to it.

This will be our 4th Cruise, DH and I. Our second 3 day. We're staying at BWV from Sunday-Thursday, then heading for the Port.

Can't wait! :yay: It's been 3 years since our last cruise.

Hi - We are booked for this cruise. Our household is DH - Adrian, Leah (me), DS's - 5 & 7. We have friends going as well - a family of 4 with a boy & girl that are both 7.

We are flying in on Wednesday, heading over to Coco Beach for the night and then going to Magic Kingdom on Sunday after disembarking. Debating between staying the night at Saratoga Springs (stayed there last year) or the Beach Resort - I like the idea of being able to get on the monorail to access Magic Kingdom or having the option to go to Epcot or Hollywood Studio's (even though it is one night). Gotta love already having those Park Hopper passes!

It must be more than New Jersey that has a teacher's conference on the 6th & 7th ;)

This will be our 2nd cruise, 1st with Disney and my 5 y.o. is so excited about that Mickey Pool and slide.....
