It is an MVMCP night and we are staying for the party. (Yay! We had so much fun last year!) We have an early dinner ADR at CRT at 4:25 pm. This way we are well positioned to get in our first MVMCP character line as soon as we’re done eating, likely the 7 Dwarfs, but that could change depending on the character situation. They definitely seemed to shake things up character-wise for MNSSHP so we are curious to see what, if any, changes happen for the Christmas party. (Aside, I know they ditched the princes in PFTH for Halloween, but how cool would it be if Kristoff was MVMCP-exclusive. I can dream!)

Our MVMCP strategy is very character-focused. We figure we can see the parade and fireworks any day over the rest of our trip, though we may stop to catch the second parade if it’s convenient. It is fun at night! We missed Jack Sparrow last year so hopefully we will make it there this year. And DH is holding out hope for Jack Skellington (in his Santa suit) and Sally to meet at MVMCP. (He can dream too!)

Looks like DH is getting his wish, at least according to Kenny the Pirate!!

I did online check-in yesterday. We're at CBR in a preferred room. Our top priorities are proximity to Diet Coke in the morning and ground floor for ease of transporting passed out children at the end of the night, so I chose Martinique and ground floor as my two selections in MDE.

I would love to also request building 26 and a maybe even a water view. If I call, can I add additional requests? I feel like last time I did online check-in back in August there was a free-form text to type additional requests. Is it gone? Or did I miss it somewhere?

I just want to like CBR better than we liked CSR last year!!

Over the past couple of days, I have been obsessing about decorating our window at CBR for Christmas, scouring the DIS for inspiration photos, trying to find the window dimensions, etc.

Here's what I'm thinking...

Around the outside perimeter of the window I will hang these string lights from the Disney Store:



I may also entwine them with faux greenery garland. Gotta check out the stores.

Then I will hang this iridescent curtain from shindigz.com from the top of the window:



I will also hang the snowflake lights I got previously at IKEA:





I will hang these snowflake strings from Oriental Trading across the whole window:



And hang these peppermint fans and lanterns from Oriental Trading at the top:

Now that ADRs and FPs are done, I am shifting my attention to polishing up my packing list. After 6 trips to WDW in less than 3 years, I have a pretty solid template to start with. As we get closer, I will get extra specific, detailing the exact outfits I will be packing. I love IKEA. And I especially love how I can get to either the South Philly one or the Conshohocken one in 20 minutes! I'll probably go back again before the trip. They always have such fun stuff.

I finally got around to selecting and ordering an Elsa coronation dress from Etsy for DD5 to wear for her BBB appointment. It was a hard choice. The one I went with was more expensive and has a longer lead time, but it’s made by someone here in the US. The others were made in China and were much cheaper. I was tempted, but didn’t want to take the risk. I’ve heard horror stories about folks trying to buy from the Chinese shops and not getting what they expected. I’m glad I ordered when I did, because the shop I ordered from has a 9-10 week lead time so I already needed to pay a rush fee in order to get it delivered to me before we leave on December 18th. If I had waited too much longer, I may have been out of luck.

So here’s the dress we selected:

DD5 looked at the photos and approved. Hopefully it comes out well, gets here on time, and actually fits her!

Now I need to find some shoes to complement the outfit. I found these at Stride Rite, but they are currently sold out of her size:



Oh, and while I was ordering the BBB dress, I *had* to look through the shop’s other offerings. Amazingly, the lady also makes, as DD5 calls it, Ariel’s “sha-la-la-la” dress (the dress she wears during the “Kiss the Girl” scene… get it?) which DD has been asking for since last Christmas.



Of course I had to get it. I mean Santa did.

7 AM, the usual morning lineup:
Start on the chores and sweep 'til the floor's all clean,
Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up
Sweep again,
And by then
It's like 7:15.

And so I'll read a book or maybe two or three
I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery
I'll play guitar and knit, and cook and basically
Just wonder when will my life begin?

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts, and baking
Paper mache, a bit of ballet and chess
Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making
Then I'll stretch,
Maybe sketch,
Take a climb, sew a dress!

And I'll reread the books if I have time to spare
I'll paint the walls some more, I'm sure there's room somewhere.
And then I'll brush and brush, and brush and brush my hair
Stuck in the same place I've always been.

And I'll keep wonderin' and wonderin', and wonderin', and wonderin'
When will my life begin?

Tomorrow night the lights will appear
Just like they do on my birthday each year.
What is it like out there where they glow?
Now that I'm older, mother might just let me go.

DD5 has not changed her mind about her favorite princess Aurora. So, I got her this one. [/URL

Not sure if you can see that but it's the deluxe costume from the Disney store. I read some reviews and saw some photos of the dresses they have at BBB. They don't look like the best quality. And this one is really pretty and flowy. Gahhhhh. I also got her the deluxe pink shoes to match. I have an evening apt but I'll keep trying for an early morning.
