101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

So--you get your travel docs about 1 month prior??
I had to go back and check when my final payment is due (12/17--great timing right before Christmas... )

I paid my balance on the 17th of Nov and got the documents on 11/28. I got the travel tags package earlier. I posted about it, but I'm to lazy to go back and see when it caem. Maybe 7 days later?

I pulled a suitcase out this a.m. I think I'm going to look up a packing list so I don't have to tax my brain so much. I'm hoping to put a few things in the suitcase I can leave for the next month... soap, shampoo (travel sized, of course), a pop-up hamper, ponchos, etc... Most of the clothes we're taking are Chrismtas gifts. I don't know if it will be warm enough for tees and jackets or long sleeves, so I'm kind of waiting to see how that will go.
I think it's been 5 years since I've flown (before 9/11). What's up with all the rules about liquids now? How many bags can we have each? Is there anything I need to know? I know I want to pack an extra bag for things we get while we're there, but what else?

If you're using ME and they're transfering your luggage for you don't forget to take some extra clothes/swim suits in your hand luggage, actually will it be warm enough for swimming???

We are going the end of Jan and I told everyone to bring things you can layer so no one will be uncomphy. The liquids thing is a pain in the butt- you can each have one quart sized zip lock bag full of toiletries but they cant be over 2 oz (i think) each. Did that make sense?

I don't think it will be warm enough for us Texans to swim. Plus, that's what we do all summer. So, we'll skip the pools.
Our winters are gloomy and wet, usually, so that's one of the reasons I planned this trip in January. It's so boring in the house constanly with it raining. We start to go a bit nuts! Or should I say bonkers for my English friends?

What a pain. I was thinking about just using the soap, shampoo and conditioner at POR, but I'm scared it'll jack up my hair and I'll look crazy in every picture. I bought a little set of bottles, but I don't know if they are 2 oz! I guess I need to add quart-sized zip locks to my list.
I'm not big on lots of beauty stuff anyways. I just throw some gel in each morning and let me hair dry on it's own. As long as I have some gel, I should be a happy girl!

I always take normal sized shampoos etc well you need them for a 14 day holiday and I just wrap them in plastic bags and pack them in the middle of my checked luggage

And what do you mean too cold to swim, you're in Florida remember!!! BTW if you do see anyone swimming they're bound to be British

Oooh, you rebel! We use a 2-in-1 for the kids, so I could just pour a few small bottles of those. I get the big honker ones with a pump, so I wouldn't want to take a regular bottle anyway.

Got it! if I see someone swimming, I'll say "Tally ho and pip pip, jolly friends!" Or is it mates? I looked up January norms and it's normally 71 to 49. TOO COLD! NOT SWIMMING!

I generally bring reg sized ones too if we are staying over a week. If not most travel sized things are "regulation" sized, if you will! And I swear by zip lock bags in Disney! I bring the quart ones for the travel stuff and always a few extra inc ase they break and I buy the big giant ones and keep them in our park back pack so in the morning when we finish with the refillable mugs I have a dry place to put them! I also tend to put everything else in our park bag in baggies too just so they are clear- its helps the security check go faster!

Now now, you'll see us northwesterners in the pools too ...but we don't have cool accents or sayings so go ahead and give us a "pip pip, cheereooo" too The weather is going to be anyones guess, but I've heard of 80 degree days and days where the wind brought the temps into the 30s! in January.

Make sure you get good quality ziplock bags ...maybe even freezer bags. Or better yet wrap the baggie in a towel for good measure. You don't want a bad throw from a baggage handler or the pressure changes in the cargo area of the airplane to splat your clothes. I've seen it happen more than once.

Be ready to take off shoes, belt, and anything else not nailed down when you go through security - it has gotten pretty extreme. A friend on the forums actually got pulled out and almost missed her flight because of a bottle of baby formula

OK, enough of the ick - mucho congrats for getting under the 30-day mark! It must be great having the documents in hand I'm sure your hubby will flip over the the RPDE - make sure it is a big box

I hate to think how many ounces of hair supplies my girls will take.......I tried to get them to scale down when we went to the beach but it was no use. On the good side, I know I will never be without hairspray cause Ab carries it with her 24/7......along with mousse and "scrunch gel".

True, but we were living in Virginia Beach at the time. It very rarely goes below zero there. How I miss it!

I know! I need to get a box that's bigger. Maybe I should tell him to bring one home for work for a kid gift. But he may ask what gift is that big... Nah. Who am I kidding? I do all the gift stuff.

I guess I'm not getting it. DH said that if I brought liquids in the checked bags, they could search our bags and throw them away. Don't I have to put all our liquids in our carry-ons so they can check them?

Okay- now that I think about it I can't live without my gel, face stuff, deodorant and toothpaste/brush. When I said all I need was gel, I meant for my hair.

Yes, we put all liquids in baggies "just in case". There are really no rules for packing liquids for CHECKED bags. If you want to bring liquids ON the place, here is the rule:

Each liquid container must be 3 oz. or less
All liquid containers must fit in a quart size sandwich baggie.

Okay! I get it now! Thank you for explaining it for me in tired mommy terms. I was starting to feel very "duh".

BTW- My hubby was starting to wonder why I talk about how funny your TR is and it seemed he may have been getting a bit cranky, so I let him read your first intro and the entry about the restaurant choice on your first night and he was in tears laughing so hard. Then I was laughing at him, and now it's all good, man. At least now he sees why I spend time DISing. It's a nice break from reality when you need it!

Remember how I said I was going to mess with hubby and wrap his gift (the RPDE gift card) in a box that was way bigger and it would drive him nuts?
I did it tonight. There's a little envelope at the bottom of the box. I put three suitcases in the box and wrapped it so pretty. Then I asked hubs to carry it downstairs for me. He was so surprised it was for him!!!
It's too big for under the tree, so I put it on the table next to the couch for him to look at for 20 days. It's so fun to be so bad!!!!
