They were fine for the most part, but B reminded me often that I promised she didn't have to go on anymore scary rides.Awwww, poor kidsand poor mommy too
Hope this didn't effect this kids for the rest of the trip.
EDITED to SAY: I WAS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!HSM, I'm sorry - what a rough home-coming you've had.]
I thought they were nice.Me too! I'd book POR every time I need a mod if only I could be assured of an AB room.]
I know. I was not a happy camper.NO, not one of them??]
See answer above...Oh no! How did they do afterward?![]()
I schooled myself that day!Great update. Sorry it was so frightening.![]()
Just consider it a lesson on fear.![]()
You're a good home school teacher. You'll figure something out.![]()
Yikes! I shouldn't have read that while I'm eating breakfast, huh? It's too bad you have wimpy kids. Joking. So far I am totally lucky that my kids have liked everything fast and "scary". But I know what you were going through at least whilst you waited in line. I remember taking Evan, then Alec, on their first times on ToT ... but I have to admit that the most scared I was in line was for RnRC with Alec. He has been known to have a bad tummy and I prayed the whole time he wouldn't "blow"!
It's scary, but at least you're an adult and you can decide. My poor kids...I felt so bad for you all reading about your ToT experience. I used to be a ride chicken and there was no way I would have ever even gone near that ride so I admire you all for attempting it.
Yeah, it wasn't a good start to the trip. It gets worse before it gets better, too.Oh Dawn that sounded terrible, what a horrifying first rideI hope they were all OK afterwards

As far as I remember, it was the full hour...Great update HSM! Did you wait the full hour in line? What did the kids say after they got off from it? I was spooked silly my first time in 2005! never again!! 2006 I sent Steve on with Sam. 2007 I decided to try it again,,and we went 2x in a row!!! I couldve done more!!
This year (Sept 07) Ben 9 said he was going to do Exp Everest..we get there, and he chickend out! But I knew, knew, knew! he would LOVE it once he got on and didnt want him to miss the experience,,so I was THAT Mom chasing (yes, literally) him around outside EE!!! I was getting some hairy eyeballs that day!!! got him in line with us,,with a bribe! And He LOVED it!!!! still talks about it,,and cant wait to do it again!! so you never know,,,,,
Nothing like peer pressure. You can call it Tower of Fluffiness if it makes you feel better! Now I feel like more of a wuss cause if your little ones can get on I should be able to to! Oh well. I'm going to be peer pressured into it this trip because I'm going with a bunch of thrill ride people, me I's prefer a tower of fluffiness.![]()
It's pretty funny!![]()
You should frame that rednecked photo!:
At least it's not just my kids. They tell everyone who asks about the trip that they hated the Tower of Terror.ToT can be pretty scary. My kids wont ride it anymore.:
I didn't care. We went for the atmosphere. I knew A would like it because Toy Story is one of his favorites.I'm pretty sure Pizza Planet has just one star next to it in the Unofficial Guide.:
This wasn't the day I was asking about a CS for DHS (Disney Hollywood Studios). We may or may not have gone on another day. You'll have to see, I guess.Shoulda gone to Rosies!![]()
Ahem! Time to update your thread title again ...
Done! We were really into school yesterday and I forgot. Thanks for the reminder.wut she said.
I thought it was really fun. The pizza was pretty good, I think. The salad was a waste, but I would go there again. Thanks! wuz unsure bout these.![]()
Wow! You should get a prize! Thanks for reading and WELCOME!Whew! I just finished all 55 pages, can't wait to hear how the kids were after TOT!
Poor kiddies.
If you count chilling with drinks and shopping, then I guess it did get better!Oh no Dawn, I'm so sorry you guys didn't enjoy ToT. I hope the day got better.
Thanks!HSM, sorry to hear about your trip back to reality. At least you have your happy place report help you. You have our prayers and thoughts. Still tring to catch up, looking forward to your updates.
Thanks! We just got home from the Dr. He has an ear infection in his right ear.Oh Dawn hope A's ear gets better really soon![]()
K thought I was being a big baby, but he was flipping out. I'm glad he's calmed down.Ouch,,,The poor thing! I hope hes feeling better by now,,,
I thought the same thing when I was reading that you were taking him to Urgent Care! Too much $ ! luckily he wanted to go back home,,![]()
Ouch! Hope his ear is better soon!
and I just realized I missed the update.......after complaining about the lack of it...so I'll BRB after cheerleading to catch up!
And tell him.......I feel like I've also grown old in the dance/cheer/gymnastics waiting rooms!
But remember my kids LOVED it! Evan just turned 4 when he rode it for the first time. We got his reaction (at least for a few seconds) on video and he had a huge smile on his face! Thanks for the great installment! I think you've convinced me not to take my little ones on ToT.![]()
True. It does make us think. k's doing a side job tonight and he's usually so sleepy when he's done. I've been really nervous about him doing one since Jenny's husband died.Wow, you've had a rough past week. So sorry to hear of your friends loss and illness. Kinda puts things in perspective.![]()
Thanks for the great installment! I think you've convinced me not to take my little ones on ToT.![]()
What she said... It depends on your kids, really. But remember my kids LOVED it! Evan just turned 4 when he rode it for the first time. We got his reaction (at least for a few seconds) on video and he had a huge smile on his face!
Good luck with whatever you do. It's completely different for each person. Your family may love it.LOL, I had to snicker at the Tower of Fluffiness. My DD can't wait to go on this (she is a thrill rider like me) and my oldest DS is on the fence. I really would like all them to at least try it, then talk DH into trying it too cause he is NOT a thrill rider.
In the Tower of Terror shop, B and I thought it was appropriate that B get a TOT shirt as a reward for living through the ride.
HomeschoolMama said:We went to check out Fantasmic, which was standing room only, but there was no way the kids would have been able to see, so we left.
HSM said:Ks key to the world and Bs card were messed up, so K had to ask the desk to give him charging privileges, not our tweenager who loves to shop.
Then he said it again and pointed at As Texas Longhorns shirt. I looked at the CMs tag and noticed he was from College Station, home of the Aggies.
They all three are very different in their riding preferences, that's for sure. I'll just say that the chicken door was used at least once...I think it's a good thing you called it an "early" night, being in bed by 10 pm. I hope you all were refreshed for the next day! I am really looking forward to hearing what rides your kids thought may be scary now ... that is not a joke or anything. I really am interested now. Just wondering if you scarred them for life (now that is a joke).
Thanks. He's not in pain anymore, although the doctor was surprised he's not still screaming. He asked if he had stuck something in his ear and he said no. I guess it's unusal, b/c only one side of the eardrum is infected.Ear infections are NO fun.Hope your son gets better soon.
T-shirt you bought from TOT sounds great.
Good thing your kids didn't ask for a puppy.![]()
Rest was a good choice. Crankiness and WDW not a good mix.
Hope next day was better.![]()
I know, right? That should have been your first tip to not get on the ride! We had to declare allegiance when we lived there (and I'm really a Hokie fan!)
I think the atmosphere freaks B out because she gets what it's saying. I don't blame her, poor baby.I've never ridden ToT--Ab has several times and thinks the surroundings are really scary (scarier than the ride). I'm not fond of drops so I'll just keep to R&R this trip!
Good update, HS!
I hope you were able to see it later on in the trip!
Sounds like a relaxing evening that you all needed.
Waiting for the next installment![]()
